I’m a bit old too. I recently purchased the XH1. Bought for $600 and $50 from MPB for the battery grip. Good price. I most use this camera for photography though I do video clips. This camera is unlucky. The Sony A7iii came out at about the same time the XH1 was released. Then the XT3 came out six months later. Then the $999 offer. Fuji has issued several firmware updates. The camera became much better but the train pulled out of the station. Yes, the kit lens with the OIS and dual stabilization is really good. Good enough is good enough. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I still prefer my XH1 over the XT4 for photography. Better grip. But for video I use XT4 99% of time. I still love the XH1 and won’t sell it. It’s the last of OG Fujis made in Japan.
I have both exactly like you do and I am thinking of moving to full frame. But I really really don't want to sell my X-H1. It's a great body, the shutter is so quiet and the screen is way better for quick shooting. I like the X-T4 but I love my X-H1. I both love and hate the X-H1's size but it is what it is. I've tried the smaller Fuji cameras like the t10 and t20 but I ended up selling them and just dealing with the size issue. Long story short I thinks it's a great camera.
I hope you kept it mate? I am upgrading from my XT2 to this in 2023 as I love the solid build quality cannot say the same for the XH2 as that feels a little cheap when in hand due to the more plastic aesthetics. Yeah the Xh2 is a huge update in AF algorithms and for video specs, bigger 40 meg sensor etc but I am predominantly a stills man and looking for a workhorse. To me it's not all about newer specs with latest processor, etc. I guess I am getting old in saying that but for me shooting the odd Wedding, Portrait or event job here and there. My needs lean more towards a traditional approach via the mechanical dials / switches particularly for slowing down my thought process in landscape shooting especially coming from an XT series 1 & 2. This body will be a match made in heaven also for when attaching my hefy XF glass zooms (16-55 / 100-400) I think this body and grip will be the end of an era for Fuji in the APS-C line as you'll have no choice other than to go their GFX system for a solid build.
Ya that’s where I’m leaning. Plus it still works great to film talking head videos at home. I could see myself still carrying it out if I plan to only take stills or if I want better handling of the battery grip.
I was so excited to get the xh1 last year. Practically brand new with the grip for $800. Took it on a trip that week and a few tides came in right after I sat my camera bag down. Destroyed the camera, lost the 35 1.4 in the water and broke my phone....

I would personally get the XH1 over the XT30 any day. It’s so much more camera. The image quality difference between the 24 and 26mp sensors is minimal. And the original XT30 doesn’t even get any of the new film sims. You have to buy the XT30ii to get them. The XH1 offers: better handling, better build, IBIS, 1/8000th shutter, longer 4K record time, DCI 4K, dual card slots, very quiet shutter. Way better camera.
