Fantastic !!! Thanks Nick. I was able to follow everything clearly. For me the best quote in this episode was ...... "if you try and skip this step and just start shaping sheetmetal, you aren't going to get anywhere. It like waving a stick in water." Wise words to live by. 👍👍😎👍👍

Bending the first large radius has to be key, and we don't know what you used to form it. It goes without saying you're a journeyman and sure appreciate your videos.

Hey Carl, you're right! It is key to get that curve right. But, in trying to keep the video concise, I didn't feel it was important to show me grunting and groaning while bending those 1/4" rods. Not trying to sound like a wise guy here. The idea I was trying to convey is that one uses what they have at hand (in my case that rotor @5:05) to form the rod over it while constantly comparing the rod to the line drawing on the wall. Check out the early videos on building the buck for the custom '40 Ford Hard Top Coupe to see more on bending 1/2" round stock, flat bar and square stock. Thanks for this video. Always wondered how you go from a drawing to a wire form. Gonna use this method for an upcoming f/g job.

Using the rotor as a bending fixture is a great idea. Thanks

I really like the brake rotor metal former. Use whatever gives the results you are looking for.
