My father was the biggest priest fan ... hes been listening and attending every concert in california since the 70s ... he took me to my first concert at 13 years old to see dio, motorhead , and judas priest at the glen helen amphitheater... my father just passed away on the 21st and ill never forget and never stop listening !
He is alive in the after life , probably having a drink with , Jimmy , Janice , Eddie and too many others that departed way to fucking soon, along with our loved ones.Bet he was and still is a great man .My awesome mom passed on the 19th, she always told me we do not die , we evolve, i believe her .Take care and be strong everyone ..Peace...
My father never took me anywhere because he and my mom divorced when I was 5, I'm 50 now. I for some reason still love the man, he's 74 now. I've seen The Priest at Ozzfest in 2004, along with Black Sabbath and so many great heavy metal bands. I'm taking my son to his first concert to see his favorite band SKILLET. THEN, I'm going to see The Priest September 29th at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado. It won't be the same not seeing the other metal God Glenn Tipton, but it should be badass nonetheless!!

It is just miind blowing that Halford should still be able to sing a song like this so masterfully in 2018.. What a work of art. What a genius. What a lesson in vocals. Just astonishing
Most fans don't seem to understand Judas Priest have released many amazing slow numbers. "Here Come the Tears" is my favorite Priest song and "Sea of Red" is my favorite 2000's Priest song. I'm not taking any value from songs like "Freewheel Burning", "Victim of Changes", and "Rapid Fire". Like Sabbath, they are diverse.
This song was perfect to be the last song on the Firepower album!! I love this album so much!! I still listen to it very often. I have been a huge massive Judas Priest fan for over thirty years, and I love them now more than ever. I am really looking forward to their next album. There are not many bands that have been around as long as Judas Priest that are still putting out amazing albums. Black Sabbath are the Godfathers of Heavy Metal music, but Judas Priest perfected it. Long live the METAL GODS!!!!!
It's too bad that Priest has yet to perform "Sea of Red" live. It is an awesome power ballad in the tradition of "Dreamer Deceiver"/"Deceiver," "Here Come the Tears," "Beyond the Realms of Death," and "Living Bad Dreams."
From 4:00 to 4:14 - a glimpse of Glenn Tipton still being Glenn Tipton - refusing to surrender. Oh, how we took his solos for granted. Such incredible phrasing. Thanks for everything Glenn. Hope you can continue to give us nuggets like this on the next album.
The Firepower Album is the most incredible. The recording sound of every songs in this album TO ME is the best in the world. Firepower is powerful and has the highest quality to me. I love Judas Priest.
I recently rediscovered Priest, post 1987. This album is epic, but this song, OMG this song. As I read the lyrics, listening to it. . .tears started falling and falling and falling. Such a powerful ballad, such a powerful tribute to all the fallen warriors. "Laying peaceful, they forgive" just pulls the heart strings. *Salute* to Priest for writing and performing this powerful song.
It really cannot be understated. I say this after I just finished listening to Invincible Shield. What a 1-2 Punch not heard since Screaming & Defenders.
One of the very few albums that I can consistently play front to back without skipping anything. Absolutely incredible album, especially coming from a band of such an age. Long live priest 🤟

We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields... For seventeen days and seventeen nights none of us have had our clothes off, nor our boots even, except occasionally. In all that time while I was awake, gunfire and rifle fire never ceased for sixty seconds ... And behind it all was the constant background of the sights of the dead, the wounded, the maimed, and a terrible anxiety lest the line should give way. - McCrae

Pretty Maiden-like.

Album: Firepower
Now look and listen as you walk around
And you'll hear voices on the wind
Those lonely whispers from this hallowed ground
Just take your time as they begin
As the sun goes down
The silence is profound
For they gave so much
So, we might go on and live
Laying peaceful they forgive

There are stories to be told
As the years go by
All the memories unfold
Bow your head
In fields of wonder where those swallows soar
Our hearts are weary as we pray
The grass is greener from the tears that fall
For you on this Remembrance Day
Your message has been heard
Words of wisdom have been shared
Their despair won't matter as they rise above
There is no end to love
In the sea of red
There are stories to be told
As the years go by
All the memories unfold
Bow your head
Sea of red
From this earth take wing (from this earth take wing)
Shine down from the sky (shine down from the sky)
We see you as you fly (we see you as you fly)
In the sea of red
There are stories to be told
As the years go by
All the memories unfold
Bow your head
Sea of red
On the sea of red
