I think every run should have a person on the couch that knows nothing about the game, not only were the reactions hilarious but we also got more explanation about the game!
I had the pleasure of commenting on a couple of games during Flame Fatales a few years back knowing nothing about them, and I used the opportunity to relay questions from chat to the runner as well as being able to react on the fly to the games. I really do think it's a good strategy as long as the runner and commentator work together well, and it provides a lot of chances for chat to learn more.
you should check out the sonic 3 and knuckles run from this year, they also had a guy like that (not sure what he did know, but he at least knew nothing about the speedrun or tech) and it made it way more fun

That 360 no-scope with the slingshot fucking broke me dudes. Incredible run!! The chemistry of you guys is top tier. This will be my go-to feel good video for a long while :)

10/10 run. Amazing runner, fantastic couch, awesome host, and the whole run was hilarious from start to finish. Maxy has one of the nicest and most wholesome communities out there, don't miss out!

One of the reasons I love GDQ is that even tho I barely play any video games anymore and know jack sh*t about speedrunning, I enjoy watching them because it's just so dang entertaining
Man this run was so fun, also this makes me realize that we really need some more horror games with jump scares run at gdq! There’s nothing funnier than having a literal auditorium of people jump alongside you when granny gets a hit in lmao
I love the couch, the runner, and the caster, usually the caster will say some donos and then remain silent throughout the entire thing, but it's nice that in this case, the caster will almost play along with the runner and couch makes it seem like everyone is actually like friends here and less so a bigger corp.

I’d never seen anything from Maxylobes before. But I like FEAR so I watched his run on that, and loved his vibe. I’ll definitely be clicking any of his stuff that comes up in the future
