In the song they were actually praising Chuck D and LL and the other street prophets and poets of that time for bringing to light the social-economic issues people face in this country and at the time it was written (you are talking the beginning of the turn of the century) Slipknot in general had a real problem with the lack of substance that was present in the top charts of the music industry. Referring to all of the teen, pop, boy and girl bands, etc. So because no one was saying it, Slipknot decided to do it for them in this song. You have to remember, Corey left home at 15 yo and lived on the streets through most of high school and some time after.
This song more then any I feel truly showcases Corey. The rap, scream, and just singing, blended to perfection. My all time 2nd fav 'Knot song behind Scissors. -KoRn Fan

Just in case someones interested, the fastest I could hear Corey spittin was in 16ths, which for about 150 bpm is pretty cool, even if it was done in bursts. I see a lot of great S/T recommendations below, so here is my IOWA recommendation: "Metabolic" The only thing I should add is that no live performance imo has done this song justice, so its safer to stay with the Album version for this one. That said... hehe... enjoy the ride...
