The line that's drawn between good and the bad
See the blind man shooting at the world
Bullets flying, taking toll
If you've been bad, lord I bet you have
And you've not been hit by flying lead
You'd better close your eyes
Bow your head
Wait for the ricochet
I wanna hear you scream
Sweet child in time you'll see the line
The line that's drawn between, good and the bad
See the blind man shooting at the world
Bullets flying, taking toll
If you've been bad, lord I bet you have
And you've not been hit by flying lead
You'd better close your eyes
Bow your head
Wait for the ricochet
I gotta hear you scream
Oh, god, oh, no don't, oh, ain't gonna do it, oh, no, no......... Видеоклипы
My heart beats at this rhythm. 20 years ago and today. This IS music!
THE MASTERPIECE OF DEEP PURPLE!
What an amazing crowd ! Were they sleeping ??? Didn't they know how lucky they were to see and listen to that in live ???? Or they're drugged !? If I'd have been there, I would have lost control !! Anyway, Amazing voice and amazing song . Love that !!!
Deep Purple's masterpiece and of the greatest songs ever written.Goosebumps.
So much power and emotion in gillans voice and song in general, the audience looks totally stunned. One of the best songs of all time.
I used to know a bloke who would sneak into the school hall and play this on the organ when he thought no one was watching.
That was 40 years ago.
Haha!
Oh my fucking god
Can't find words to describe this performance
Music dead, was the first thing that came to my head, jesus
The amount of emotions this song bring to me is unbelievable...
What a range mr gillan, been listening to this song forever
What a tone !
I can't belive this only has 171k views. What an amazing song 🤯
I was grown up on that music and I'll die with it.
God bless DP!
IAN GILLAN
I saw DP do this 2 times in Dayton Ohio's Hara arena, once in 72. Ritchie was awesome as were they all. We were dead center up against the stage and we passed a bowl of opium/hash mixture with Ian Gillian. We had taken Windowpane and could literally see the music flowing from the amps as colors, man that was badass, but I wouldn't do it again -LOL!!!
you must have had a really good time
I saw this for the first time about a week ago while eating mushrooms with a friend haha, must be a Gary thing. It's awesome though, know any other songs that are similiar? Having a hard time finding more of them with Ian singing like this.
Gary, I thought the "In Rock" and "Fireball" were the best albums with this line-up and Ian's voice was in top shape then. "Machine Head" was ok but "Smoke On The Water" is not the best song, In my opinion "Lazy" was. Ian at times screamed at the top of his lungs which has taken a toll. Machine Head was when the Purple music was designed to be more pop like and radio friendly. Anyway, check out the other songs on "In Rock" Speed king and Hard Loving Man, Speed King especially showcases Ian Gillian's voice. On Fireball, "Strange Kind Of Woman and The Mule along with the song Fireball were really good. I had this album cover painted by a very talented guy on the gas tank of a Kawasaki Z-1, the original superbike. It looked 3D and always got comments where I rode it. Remember to always turn the volumn up when listening to Deep Purple to get the concert effect, they were very loud!
If that doesn't give you goosebumps...nothing ever will!
Always, just so damn good...
Yeah, good to cry out loud the whole injustice in the world!
Love this song !!😂❤🎉
4:11, was he jamming out to his own band in a live performance in front of an audience??!! EPIC! it must of have felt like having the best seat in the house!

Awesome DP... Looks like 714s were popular with the audience. Myself, I couldn't sit still watching this.

A dozen people don't have a CLUE
Child In Time
(Enfant Dans Le Temps)
Sweet child in time
Doux enfant dans le temps
You'll see the line
Tu verras la ligne
The line that's drawn between
La ligne dessinée entre
The good and the bad
Le bien et le mal
See the blind man
Regarde l'homme aveugle
Shooting at the world
Tirer sur le monde
Bullets flying
Des balles qui volent
Taking toll
Criblant d'impacts (1)
If you've been bad
Si tu as été mauvais
Lord I bet you have
Seigneur je parie que tu l'as été
And you've not been hit
Et que tu n'as pas été frappé
By flying lead
Par le plomb qui vole
You'd better close your eyes
Tu ferais mieux de fermer les yeux
And bow your head
Et de t'incliner
And wait for the ricochet
Et d'attendre le ricochet
Ouh ouh ouh....
I wanna hear you scream
Je voudrais t'entendre crier
Ha ha ha...

Where and when was this recorded? The audience just don't get it; not yet musically liberated
1970
BBC, England
THEY'RE MESMERIZED
I think the audience is just captivated. I know I would be and am right now.
Granada TV 1970. It was a TV performance, people who were there probably didn't even who Deep Purple are.
:)
Twice I camped overnight for tickets to Deep Purple in Denver back in the 70's, early 80's, and both times they cancelled.
Not as big of a fan as I once was, good song though.
Giannis Pantelaios
бля. эти люди даже не представляют что присутствуют при рождении чего-то охуенного!
Даже у Богов бывает.На 7*17 ударник теряет палочку...
I'd give up a nut to be in that audience. Man, I guess things were different back then, but all these videos from the late '60s England (DP, Led Zeppelin, etc) show the same emotionless audiences. Weird.
That's because they were all blown away, usually on Acid or Mushrooms. The music was so loud it would hammer you into submission! LOL
good music wasn't in short supply back then. neither was the best drugs
Another point about that audience is they are British which is usually a more reserved group. Also, this wasn't exactly dance music, it was more blow you away music that assaulted your senses. Now if you want to see a band back then that would make you move, check out Rory Gallagher or Alvin Lee and Ten Years After, maybe Johnny Winters or Lynard Skynyrd.
Take a look to 5:25 ; the black dude with the brown pullover was actually a human in disguise, not an alien; he's was moving his foot... but maybe they killed him at the end of the show :/
I would like to see Baby Bieber sing this...Oh, hell maybe not. The only thing he would have in common with this song? The word child and the word time...he's nothing but a little boy child. The word time? He probably has the timing of a slug. I think the world has almost gone deaf...most singers now can't carry a tune in a paper bag!
Anu Malik's rip off brought me here :]
No offence to all of you Deep Purple fans, but to me it's the perfect example of a perfect song being RUINED somewhere between minute 3 and minute 4.
It began as good music. Then it stopped making sense.
ignorant comment
Tiffany Goins And your comment, Tiffany is very liberal. No arguments to disprove me whatsoever. Just calling stuff ignorant. Sorry, my dear, but you sound like a typical left piece of shit.
40 years later and this turds still don´t get it
***** All due respect, Rudy, but I see a good thing that starts well, but past the forth minute I turn it off, 'cause it's no longer good music by then. I'd keep half of that song and throw away the other half.
Ok we get it, the lapse between 3 and 4 didn't satisfy your taste; and you shared it with us that; we get it.
