I wish I had a dad I could talk to. I'd treasure every moment, the laughter, the love and the cooking would be the icing on the cake. I never had a dad in my life. I'm 56 and I still crave that. I love you and your dad. So special ❤
So sorry you never had a dad! However, whether he is dead or alive, you will meet him some day. Liked the I ing on the cake though - that's soon sweet!
We must protect Deddy at all costs you guys! This man is a gem! Support support support! I love his relationship with his family...it is everything. Keep up the good work Deddy and daughter. Xx
Rundown - the real Jamaican deal daddy... My grandmother would cook this recipe when things were low. It creamy and saucy and it would Strech (as she would say it) to feed the entire family. This brings back nuff nuff memory . Thanks for sharing- one love
This is so true! Back home, even at restaurants, they leave the bones. My mom however 😌 would take her time and pull em all. Thank you for the vibes, Deddy!!
I'm a British Jamaican recently returned to Jamaica, your program is fabulous, ive learned soooooo much, you've literally saved me from embarrassing moments I propose you call your dutchi Matilda Mine is called Samantha
I tried this version today and its not the same as when you cook down the coconut juice until it has a custard and start forming oil. Then you add the seasonings and mackerel. It takes the flavour profile to another level.
This brings back memories. Coming home for lunch as a youte boy and my father making lunch for my sister and I. With cook dumplings. You took me down memory lanes. Thats what your cooking does. It takes me on a field trip. Love it all.
Nice to see the original big daddy in the kitchen teaching the next generation Jamaican cooking keep up the good work on all the good dishes you put together
Neisha Nine Starz, try not to use a sharp knife to get the coconut out of the shell because it the knife slips,it's going to cut you badly; A dinner knife or any unsharpened knife will do.
Yees! There was a Jamaican song about those type of pots, it was called “Pass the Dutchie.” I may be old school but Jamaicans use to call that a Dutch pot.
Deddy, Thank you and your daughter for your videos because you showed how you cracked open a coconut, I always had to trouble cracking one open but, your way is very easy. Keep lifting up God in the videos. BigUp, Much Love. ❤🥄🧑🏾🍳

Deddy, what if you’re using the “tin coconut milk”, how many tins would you use? Cause I don’t like to ux the coconut
My guesstimate based on the amount of coco milk in Deddy's bowl, would be 2-3 cans of coconut milk.
1 Mackeral 1 can coconut milk
@@smorris7864 yes I guess I’ll just use 1 tin of coconut milk then because it’s just one mackerel I’m cooking
In the USA, some of the international markets have options of salted mackerel already de-boned (filleted).
Deddy wheel and come again. I would give you a million thumbs up if I could. This looks amazing!
This looks delicios! Im having to try this recepi. Thnx . I love the video.
Deddy, please do a video about food or provisions. All the different selections and how to boil them.
