- Today we head to the Crick Boat Show 2024. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to the Saturday and Sunday shows, but after hearing about the thundershowers on Sunday, we're glad the weather is set to stay dry today. Theres still lots to see and its a lot quieter too, from new boat tours, lots of interesting stands and meeting plenty of subscribers and fellow "Boattubbers"

The boats they are building today aren't a patch on the old girls. Our boat is solid wood all the way through. Would cost a fortune to be built today. We love her, old fashioned, but homely ❤
I know Jan. They aren't made so well now are they. Maybe I am a bit to honest but I do like to tell it as it is and the Collingwood was made so much better than the viking boat and it was longer and cheaper. Still love the character of narrowboats would never get a wide beam. ❤
Nice to see some real and honest opinions about the boats rather than the usual “aren’t they lovely!” Some of these new fit outs are nice but they have no soul.
Totally agree with you there. The trouble is with me ( Diane) is I say what I think. I love narrowboats more as to me they have much more character. Personally would never get a wide beam. 😊

Cracking day out for Diane Birthday & celebration of new grandchildren.
Light hearted, mix of what’s on offer for a family fun day out and my favourite was the painting stalls and of course 99😂
Really enjoyed milling around, dodging the mud and sampling the cheeses!
Great memories of a perfect day out with friends & you captured this with your usual je ne sais quoi.👏💯🦅
Hi Sue. The only thing Josh missed was sampling the cheeses. He would have like to have filmed that but we had finished by the time he had finished chatting to Wes and Amy. No worries had the cheeses on crackers today and they were delicious 😋 😀

Lovely work Josh, good turnaround, nice look at the boats on show. Its funny, but before I moved onto my boat, I loved all that interior wood. But let me tell you, I have now ripped up the wood floor and replaced it with good quality vinyl tiles, covered the tongue and groove in the saloon with 3mm ply, and painted 75% of the boat walls and I know that might be sacrilege to some, but I am a damn sight happier with lighter colours. Currently in South Devon and will be here for 5 weeks as my boat is having its exterior painted and and renamed. Best wishes to all the Taylors.

Renaming my boat ‘Lost Highway’, and other news, I might be moving it north in July instead of south… I have a second job interview for senior videographer role with a Lake District tourist board this Thursday. Gutted i couldnt get to crick but had to have chemo today and wouldnt be able to get back intime also cabs where 180 each way hope you had a great time

Don’t forget to look for magnet fishers. They find them a lot. Cheap or even free.

I get what you mean. But it's not like that with us.
At least this vlog wasn’t so much of a lovey-fest of youtubers like some of the other Crick vlogs have been (more about celebrity than about the show itself).

Enjoyed the Boat Art workshop - fascinating.
The £159000 boat was sold. It sold on the Friday of the show. Didn't like the layout in the bathroom as you could tell no room to go through past the toilet. It's weird too as we live on a 70 foot boat as you know I went through the bathroom and was expecting a couple more bedrooms. Could never down size now I font think. (Diane)😊
