Tell ya what man..... I LOVE your videos. As soon as I see you've dropped a new one, I put it in my playlist for watching later in the evening (while I'm relaxing sipping an adult beverage). To be honest, I wish your videos were longer as they've got such good quality content. The best part, is you're not just bolting on over the counter parts, you're MAKING them. Not many other channels do that. The best BEST part, you're not a douchebag with a bad sense of comedy doing stupid things thinking it's funny or entertaining. Rock on man, hope to meet you someday. Cheers from Missouri.
Absolutely in love with this taco. Not gonna lie I wasn’t super stoked when I saw you bought one because it seems like the same thing is always done with these. I sure was wrong, you’ve knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
You will be amazed at the difference after the tune. I had a 2008 model for 14 1/2 years then got a 2020 model. Always told my friends I would pay someone $1K to give me my old engine and transmission back. Got the KD MAX tune, got my performance back for only $300!
Yeeeees! Better shift points! I drive a 2nd gen, and I hate the factory shifting so bad that I basically drive it like a manual (because it lets me force it down into lower gears). These trucks have plenty of power for my preferences, they just refuse to use it because they constantly sit 1 or 2 gears below where the power band even starts picking up. I CAN make it shift down in drive by putting the petal to the metal, but it just resists so bad. When it does finally give in, it too often drops 2 gears at once and revs like a mother. It just has no chill. I’m gonna look into reprogramming like this.
Yeah Nate was going to suggest KDMAXX tune I’m on 33s with stock gears and the tune is amazing fixing shifting and pedal lag is major but it does feel like a 20 HP gain 🤙🏽
Much respect for even in the crazy time crunch you have, you still manage to make a video and keep up on your schedule for videos. True professional! Also love the edit of this video. It has the same time crunch vibe as what you're going thru to get everything ready. #respect
Absolutely LOVE that you ran tube bumpers. They look great. As well, running the front in combination with that cradle is slick, the winch is well tucked.
Turned out Fantastic Nate!!!!!! Bumpers look great painted black. I don't do youtube for a living but I have lost footage due to various memory failures. Sucks for sure. Your video was still a great watch. Don't sweat it.
I love the fabrication aspect of the channel. Gives me ideas and inspiration to get back in the garage and do some work. Overall a well rounded channel of build and test.
You are a true craftsman, innovator & take pride in your work. I built a Gen 2 Tacoma Pre-runner & a 1987 4x4, IFS, Class 2000, MORE desert race truck & have the utmost respect for your skills & talent. You’re a 10+ and out class all the other wanna be’s. I’ll be out at KOH for my 10th in a row & pitting for the 4664 rig. See you out there.
No doubt about it Nate, that is one badass Tacoma. The fenders, bed sides, and that WRAP, all put it together. Looking forward to seeing you vids from the Hammers.
I'm not a newbie I've been a mechanic for about 35 years I'm retired now I used to do a lot of off-roading when I was a kid but basically it was taking a stock truck slapping some big tires on it and going out to playing breaking a lot of stuff. Now that I'm a bit older and I finally bought my dream truck I've got a little well not a little a lot of inspiration from your channel I like the way you work I like the way you explain things and I've been a subscriber for over a year I found your channel accidentally I actually first saw you with somebody else I can't remember what channel it was but I want to say I got a lot of respect for you I love the stuff you build the Tacoma build is really cool but I'd like to see you get back to the Jeep. I want to see the updated diesel and this new transmission you're talking about I just really like that machine thank you again for your videos and how much information they pack look forward to seeing much much more from you
Your channel is awesome man!!! I’m 37 and it reminds me of the old school Power Block from Spike TV!!! The quality I mean!! Your videos look like a tv show man!!! It’s awesome. Keep up the great work!! All the best to you and yours.🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Dude this modern truck build looks bad ass man. The tube makes it look tuff. But looks sleek as well, it fits the body lines. . Love your work man. Have fun at koh I’ll be looking forward to those videos as well.
Nate, I’ve said it before… You’ve got some seriously excellent skills when it comes to building things… I love watching your projects come to life… Stay safe out there.
This looks fantastic! I absolutely love the wrap choice, and the bumpers look terrific. It must be so satisfying to be able to just grab some tube and weld up such cool parts, I really respect your skills.
Glad you made it through the stress. Have fun at KotH! Looking forward to your solution to the bed, as it looks odd @ 12:30 (axle appears too far forward in the opening).
Awesome seeing this come together man. And mad respect for the hard work - I’ve totally had card errors before but the way you still pulled the video together was great. Good luck @ KOH!
With all the craziness on Saturday you still managed to edit and post a video for us that is crazy! I'm starting to think you've somehow cloned yourself to get all of this done on time! The bumpers and sliders turned out great for a quick and dirty job on a time crunch! They remind me a lot of the bumpers I had on old R/C buggies and trucks.
Lol dude if I had a behind the seens camera people would see how crazy it was to pull this off! I had to edit half of it at home and try to get all the voice over done before we left. Then finish the rest on the road. I had to tether the internet connection to my phone and start the upload in just the right location so we could have continued Cell service in California 🤦♂️. Building for 14 hrs a day and editing as much as I could every night wore me out lol but I'm happy to be down here at the hammers 👍
I absolutely love the tube styling!! This thing is really awesome! It’s an “old-school” style and minimalist. Doesnt have a bunch of big bulky heavy angles and chunks of metal, it’s just tube, and it’s just where it need to be to serve it’s purpose. So cool
Man the rear bumper is so simple but so sick. I’ve been trying to decide on tube vs plate, but this just made the decision for me. That thing looks perfect
It looks fantastic. I love the tube and how tucked up the bumpers are. One of my biggest pet peeves about my Jeep JK is how far out the front bumper sticks out from the grill.
I hope you get a chance to meet up with Paul from FabRats. You two seem to be some of the best folks and have probably THEE best fab channels. He's supposed to be at King of the Hammers as well with his old/new FJ crawler. It would be cool for you two to interview each other. Paul's so humble, though, that it might be hard to get him to talk. But he loves family as well and, along with your love for fabrication, you have that in common as well. I also love that you haven't just focused on the Jeeps. You have quite the quiver of vehicles in your garage. It's also awesome that you bring in the pros when you need.
One thing you or your tuner did not mention is that after tune is flashed it takes a couple tanks of fuel to settle. Another note these and many other alike are octane learning tunes. Meaning if you want to use 87 octane you can . But I recommend running 92 octane . My Tacoma is at 5,350 lbs on the kdmax pro tune with sport throttle sensitivity. I've tried running lower octane and taco felt like a turd.
Not really interested in Tacomas, I came here for the TJ... but man, I've never seen a better looking Taco. You really knocked it out of the park. Love watching you fabricate.
Great series on this truck... I have a 2019 Tacoma so I was very interested to see how you modified it. For the bed you should do a Tray like alot of offroaders use in Australia. Also... when you open the driver door and that beep is driving you nuts just press the rubber button where the locking mechanism meets the body and the beeping will stop.
When the guy that did your tuning he could've turned that off with that software. If you know anyone that has techstream with that dealer software it has many more things (sounds) turned off.
Nate, you never stop amazing! Great job on the bumpers and sliders! I was with you about being iffy on the front bumper but once you painted it, definitely keep it. I am interested in how much the tune helps. Have a good trip a KoH and enjoy the Tacamo.
It looks good, I like Tacoma's. Well at least it's not another Bronco build. I would sure like to see you get back on your Wrangler in the near future. It's the main reason I'm here. Can't wait for your Jeep to be back running again.
Dude!! The Taco looks like a Baja1000 trophy truck!! I’m a Jeep guy (I’ve got a JKU that will get built up someday, and a JT Rubicon) but I’m totally digging what you’ve done to the Tacoma. Your wife is a saint though, my bride would not let me do anything like that to our ‘21 JT and it has 12k on it - lol!
Nate, as always, complete wizard like bad-assery. 🤙 Fantastic job at making probably one of my most favorite Tacoma builds hands down and doing such a wonderful job at doing what you love. Good luck at KOH! Wish I could be there! Can’t wait to hear how it goes! Cheers bro! Have fun!
I went to the garage and threw rocks at my Tacoma after watching this build series. Super jealous!!

Thanks man, I'm honored 👊. And thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive comment!
Absolutely in love with this taco. Not gonna lie I wasn’t super stoked when I saw you bought one because it seems like the same thing is always done with these. I sure was wrong, you’ve knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thank you!
How can you say that, every single jeep looks the same, just a giant square with big tires
@@2dollarDirtbikes looks the same vs. is the same isn't necessarily the same thing. Everyone I know is also pretty tired of JKs too

KDMax for the win!! I absolutely loved that tune on my Taco.
The KDMax tune is the cherry on top of that bad Tacoma sundae! Love it.

Hey Steve, 2nd Gen 4.0 tunes are badass when tuned with HP tuners. Find a tuner near you! (I’m in Portland if you’re in my neck of the woods)
Yeah Nate was going to suggest KDMAXX tune I’m on 33s with stock gears and the tune is amazing fixing shifting and pedal lag is major but it does feel like a 20 HP gain 🤙🏽
"One off" means, only having to please one person. I do enjoy watching the skills and tools used to produce the look and functionality. Thank you
Much respect for even in the crazy time crunch you have, you still manage to make a video and keep up on your schedule for videos. True professional!
Also love the edit of this video. It has the same time crunch vibe as what you're going thru to get everything ready.

Thanks man! I was definitely in crunch mode, glad that came through in the edit 👍
Absolutely LOVE that you ran tube bumpers. They look great. As well, running the front in combination with that cradle is slick, the winch is well tucked.
I love the zip tie trick for tacking the lower bar on the front bumper.
and the bar for the rear bumper. it was a " that's an easy solution I'd never thought of..." moment
@@johnthegiant320 100% I’ve been fabricating for years and never thought to use them for that. I guess I love my clamps too much.
@@paulkimble4548 everyone has their way, and sometimes you learn something cool. :)

I really like the tube and yes the rock sliders got that perfect rock crawler fit and finish. That truck has came a long way. It really looks great 👍
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! This is my favourite 3rd Gen Tacoma build i've seen either in person or online. You've got a great eye for mods Nate. Enjoy KOH!
Paul tuned my truck about 6 months ago. its a night day difference. still love it.
The fab work on this channel is the best on RUclips. For a new yoter it’s cool.
Such a bad ass build! This truck has personally restored my faith in IFS.

Is it just me or is this just the happiest lil bumper?
This is one sick taco, cant wait to see what it can do on the rocks.
