In our wedding planning, trying wedding rings on and seeing a ring on my now husband’s hand was the real punch to the stomach moment when I thought “OMG, this is real - he’s going to be my husband!”
You’re so right. Your wedding day is YOUR day. My parents’ wedding was hijacked by their parents and they didn’t have what they wanted so they were incredibly supportive of us making decisions for ourselves.
Honestly the best day of my life.

Love that you're doing what you want to do and dont feel pressured by society ❤ None of my family came to my wedding (with the exception of our 11 month old daughter) my husband was working on board ships and we did it in dry dock. It was a simple affair in the registry office in Gibraltar with a drink in a pub then on to a meal in a chinese restaurant. It's our 25th anniversary this year🥰 Our families understood completely and supported our decision ❤

It's so refreshing to hear a couple with similar values and thoughts as my partner and I. We fully went in with the idea to book a small wedding and it soon snowballs into something that accommodates everyone elses preferences and you start to lose your own ideals. We've now decided to scrap that altogether and elope! SO excited for you both and to see anything wedding related that you do choose to share online xx

My husband and I had our legal wedding just the two of us and three friends in the city we met. Then a few weeks later on our 10th anniversary of when we met, we had a micro wedding with just 14 members of our close family. It was perfect for us and we’re so glad we stuck to our guns. 💖💖💖

Exchanging vows and putting the ring on my husband's finger was literally the most exciting part of getting married! I love seeing it every day; definitely makes me feel so close to him.

I’ve been married 6 years this year (together for 13) and it’s still the best day of my life. We spent £6000 on our day: 35 people in the day, 60 in the evening, and had the best day! You don’t have to spend £££ on it, or invite the whole world. Why not sail half way around the world, and not invite anyone!! You two are such a dream 🤗

It's been 43 years 16/1 /24 that I've been married and it's still strong I love it and had no family present at our wedding. Remember now it's your time and your lives together, as long as you're not hurting anyone then you go for it, it's your marriage it's about sharing your life with that one special person, you've been through so much together with Benji s health etc , what a wonderful way to start married life sharing those experiences with your best friend in the world and you can always have a super party with your family when you come back. Can't wait to see any videos you post have a wonderful life. Don't ever feel guilty it's your day.
