My Mom and Dad picked her rings together - this was back in 1946. When my Dad went back to pick them up he got talked into an entirely different set. My Mom hated them for 25 years. For their 25th she got to pick new ones. When my husband and I got engaged we picked my ring together and went together to buy it. I learned my lesson from my Mom. I think you guys did it right. 💜

I think when you said “for our whole relationship we’ve always been on the same page” it really sums up you two so well. As a viewer, I know we don’t get the entire picture but from what you do share with us it’s always been obvious how well you and Benji fit together and compliment each other for the better since I started watching you in 2017. I think the way you went about it with being involved in the proposal is really sweet because it’s more memories you’ll share together and it’ll feel more special because you both were a part of the decisions. It’s sort of like it was never a question of “if” he would propose, because you both already knew you had found your person, and that’s something really special to share with someone. Definitely I never wanted a big fuss I wanted it to be us. So my dog was helping me and it took me ages! He hid it in the back huge cupboard in tissue inside an envelope in an old photo frame! We knew it was happening so had a gorgeous steak dinner at home with wine and talked of all we've been through and our gorgeous children and then he said right time to play a game and that was it. I handed it to him and he then had a gorgeous speak prepared and it was lovely. Xx

We got married on Cocoa Beach in florida because it’s so special to me, after we were married, as we were walking back up to the hotel the whole restaurant stood and started clapping and whistling, it was amazing. Congratulations on the engagement, can’t wait to see the wedding plans evolve xx

My husband and I did the exact same thing! We met online on POF (before Tinder 😂) in 2012. Decided we wanted to get engaged together. We researched beforehand and went to Dubai in 2015, for a holiday and to chose our diamond at Cara and they then made our engagement ring for us. Such a special thing to do together! I’d also recommend it to everyone. 8 years later, I still can’t believe how beautiful our engagement ring is. Wishing you both as much joy as my husband and I found together ❤

My parents did something similar, they discussed it, decided time frame together, picked the ring together and they’ve been happily married for over 40 years ❤️ mine was different and a semi surprise but that’s just what worked for us. I saw the video title and did think oh planned but listening to you guys explain it, it actually made perfect sense. This is exactly how my partner and I did it, we spoke about it. We went to jewellers and researched together and built the ring with the diamonds and the setting. The whole GIA certification process is amazing. Now time for me to go back and pick the wedding band. We were engaged on our first trip to disney world 2019. My partner is my best friend we do everything together, we couldn't have done it one with out the other. Congratulations to you both! Had saved this as I knew it was gonna be good… oh my DAYS!! You proper got me, real tears at the 5 year montage that is BEAUTE, I’ve only been around for 1-2y of your life! So so SO special!! I LOVE the ‘unconventional approach’ - we did something slightly similar where we chose the bits for the ring in a booth etc totally chill and ‘just so we know where we’re at’… but John had already done a tonne of research (there is SO much to know isn’t there!!) SO we went there as a ‘let’s just go and see what we like and get your size’ vibe… off we walked, me none the wiser until John then proposed a few minutes later in Regent’s Park to my complete surprise… then we went straight back and went all in and got photos and sorted the ring! We were able to be involved in setting the diamond 💍 which was super special for us! The folks in the shop seemed genuinely happy for us as they hadn’t seen that happen before! The only thing I would change would have been I was SUCH a scruff on the day, I would have loved to have ‘looked’ how happy I felt etc! Sooooooo pleased for you both!! What an amazing proposal and loved the moana reference, I cracked up!! Xx

This was honestly one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. You guys are such a wonderful couple with the biggest hearts. I haven't heard of any personal stories where a couple have designed the ring and planned the proposal so this was really interesting to watch. He bought our 3 day old newborn in to me in the morning and he had the ring tied to his wee jumper with a hand written note asking me to share their last name. we had been together for 3-4 years and had talked about it before we got pregnant.

Definitely I never wanted a big fuss I wanted it to be us. So my dog was helping me and it took me ages! He hid it in the back huge cupboard in tissue inside an envelope in an old photo frame! We knew it was happening so had a gorgeous steak dinner at home with wine and talked of all we've been through and our gorgeous children and then he said right time to play a game and that was it. I handed it to him and he then had a gorgeous speak prepared and it was lovely. Xx

My husband and I did the exact same thing! We met online on POF (before Tinder 😂) in 2012. Decided we wanted to get engaged together. We researched beforehand and went to Dubai in 2015, for a holiday and to chose our diamond at Cara and they then made our engagement ring for us. Such a special thing to do together! I’d also recommend it to everyone. 8 years later, I still can’t believe how beautiful our engagement ring is. Wishing you both as much joy as my husband and I found together ❤

Love that you did it your way and didn’t bend to pressure to do what is considered the norm. My parents did something similar, they discussed it, decided time frame together, picked the ring together and they’ve been happily married for over 40 years ❤️ mine was different and a semi surprise but that’s just what worked for us. I saw the video title and did think oh planned but listening to you guys explain it, it actually made perfect sense. For you both to be involved in every step, what an amazing extra memory to have going forwards and it definitely fits you both (from what I've seen) it being a joint/shared thing I mean that's the whole point of relationships/marriage to share things with each other. unconventionally romantic is what I would call it haha. This is exactly how my partner and I did it, we spoke about it. We went to jewellers and researched together and built the ring with the diamonds and the setting. The whole GIA certification process is amazing. Now time for me to go back and pick the wedding band. We were engaged on our first trip to disney world 2019. My partner is my best friend we do everything together, we couldn't have done it one with out the other. Congratulations to you both! I love the fact you did it your way and so untraditional, I’m starting think I’d like to go through this process some day and share it with the person I want to marry, how special! Had saved this as I knew it was gonna be good… oh my DAYS!! You proper got me, real tears at the 5 year montage that is BEAUTE, I’ve only been around for 1-2y of your life! So so SO special!! I LOVE the ‘unconventional approach’ - we did something slightly similar where we chose the bits for the ring in a booth etc totally chill and ‘just so we know where we’re at’… but John had already done a tonne of research (there is SO much to know isn’t there!!) SO we went there as a ‘let’s just go and see what we like and get your size’ vibe… off we walked, me none the wiser until John then proposed a few minutes later in Regent’s Park to my complete surprise… then we went straight back and went all in and got photos and sorted the ring! We were able to be involved in setting the diamond 💍 which was super special for us! The folks in the shop seemed genuinely happy for us as they hadn’t seen that happen before! The only thing I would change would have been I was SUCH a scruff on the day, I would have loved to have ‘looked’ how happy I felt etc!

This was honestly one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. You guys are such a wonderful couple with the biggest hearts. I haven't heard of any personal stories where a couple have designed the ring and planned the proposal so this was really interesting to watch. I'm recently engaged too and just hearing another couples story was so wonderful ❤

I absolutely love the idea of choosing the ring together, it’s definitely the one thing I’ve discussed with my other half that I want and he’s on board with idea. It will make the whole experience so special and a memory to cherish. We don’t tend to have the traditional proposal in my culture and our families are usually very involved from the beginning so for me, picking the ring together is something that I want to have just for us ❤️ xx

He bought our 3 day old newborn in to me in the morning and he had the ring tied to his wee jumper with a hand written note asking me to share their last name. we had been together for 3-4 years and had talked about it before we got pregnant.

First your hair looks fabulous, did you color it darker? Second, this is almost EXACTLY what my husband and I did. We deleted tinder our first date and just knew.
