I've just had to pause the video to say, the first dress I tried on made me cry. It was so beautiful and I actually looked beautiful, something I thought I'd never say about myself. Like you I didn't see myself that way at all. I tried on more dresses and went to 2 other shops but nothing compared to that first one and the others didn't give me that feeling. I wished I just stopped at the first one because there was nothing out there for me that was better. Your dress was so perfectly you and you looked absolutely stunning.❤

When I got married I had an idea of what dress style I wanted. The assistant said " can you try this one on for size " (it was nothing like the one I had in mind). I loved it , it really suited me. She smiled and said " I knew as soon as I saw you what you'd suit " she was definitely good at her job.

I got married January 2023, as a curvy girl myself, I went down the route of a custom made dress as I wanted a black and white dress, and I totally agree, when you try on a dress it's about how it makes you feel. As someone who has been married almost 44 years; I was 20! I have so much respect for you both. In my experience, one of the things that can cause the most difficulties in a marriage is trying to fit yourselves into a "marriage category." Thinking that you have to do things a certain way because you are now engaged or married. I have seen many marriages fail because the couple were trying to do things the way their parents or friends had done. Your marriage should be unique. You and Benji are doing that and I think it's wonderful. I wish you both a lifetime of health and happiness.

When you said that you didn’t really like your body, it got me choked up because it’s so hard to feel beautiful sometimes when you feel like that. But you looked glowing and gorgeous and it was such a perfect choice 💗
Your dress was perfection and adding the sleeves made it even more ethereal and romantic. I hated wedding dress shopping bec I had the same insecurities and just felt miserable. I bought a beautiful off white dress with blush accents without ever trying it on. I saw the picture and loved it. Thankfully it worked out lol!! I think it’s so great how Benji was part of the process and even made comments and suggestions. You two are so perfect for one another. Congratulations!
My dress shopping took about 2 hours and we went to one shop. I’d just had a baby and wasn’t really into it. My mom chose the dress, I didn’t even look at any (post natal depression for you) and it was beautiful and perfect for me, sometimes it takes someone who knows you and sees you in their eyes to pick what’s perfect when you’re not seeing it yourself.
I found my first dress on the first try on. Years later when styles have changed, I've felt a bit cheated that i didn't really try on more different options ♡ You looked lovely ❤ 12:25

When shopping for my daughter's wedding dress, we had an entire Saturday booked to visit 5 different shops. We ended up buying the first dress she tried on! All day, we kept comparing everything she tried on to that first dress. Congratulations on finding your perfect dress!
I had to stop and say, yes, its totally understandable the way you were feeling when you had found the dress but felt the experience may have been cut short. If it helps to know, I ended up going to numerous appointments at different bridal shops and it very quickly turned from a feeling of excitement at the experience to a feeling of worry that I would never find THE dress. For me it turned out the very last bridal shop was the best and really looked after me ( I was on my own because my family live about 4.5hr drive away, one way, and they did come to the first few appointments with me but unfortunately couldnt come to them all). They made me feel so welcome, took me under their wing and really encouraged me to take my time and come back to enjoying the process, which was exactly what I needed. Oddly enough they were the closest bridal shop to my now Mother-in-law's home so that was the only reason i thought I'd try them. Totally wasnt expecting to find the one there and yet there it was! I also am not my own biggest fan of how i look and definitely got the feeling of relief and tears and shock at feeling like 'I actually look like a bride!!'. It's such a beautiful feeling, one that everyone deserves to have. I'm so so glad that you found the dress that gave you that feeling and you look absolutely beautiful in it. Like a Princess. 🥰✨❤️🤗

I never found one in a bridal boutique that I liked that I could afford so I ended up in a dress from Monsoon. I ordered it online and when it arrived I sort of wasn't fussed but i tried it on and stood in front of the mirror and was like oh my gosh! So quickly whipped it round to the tailors the next day as i was in love. You looked like an absolute princess, what a stunning dress x

Loved this so much. Can totally relate with the experience I had. I'm similar size to you and felt like I would have to have a certain shape dress so I was picking wrong. Luckily, I gave in to my stubborn side and let the woman in the shop pick one for me to try on.. Needless to say I ended up saying yes to the dress at the one she picked and a dress I never thought I could pick. It truly is a special moment when you know you've found the one. I am getting married in May next year and I have put off wedding dress shopping because I absolutely hate my body and always have struggled with my body as you have mentioned, I thought nothing was going to look nice and to be honest it was the part I was dreading. I found a boutique online and ended up just booking an appointment on the wim. I was so so nervous on the day, I didn’t know what I wanted but the amazing consultant bought out a dress (it was the third dress) she did it up and wow the emotions I felt was really overwhelming. But my god I felt so wonderful in it, I completely resonate with what you’re saying about the dress feeling right and looking right on my body. I had the most amazing experience and cannot wait to get it back and fitted properly etc. Advice for future brides would be to enjoy the experience as you will look amazing in your dress!🩷

I didn’t take anyone with me when I was designing it and I cried and cried when I picked it up I hated it. So I hated my wedding dress that I wore for our wedding in 2022 - was purchased in 2018 for a 2020 wedding. But unfortunately Covid made us delay which unfortunately made me fall out of love with the dress. I cried putting it on on the day itself, and even now writing this, it makes me sad. - you, Brogan, looked absolutely beautiful and the “feels” you get from the right dress is massive. Genuinely so happy for both you and Benji having your wedding day and seeing you both in your finery.

I wasn't happy with my body in the build up to my wedding 16 years ago but I knew a traditional wedding dress wasn't for me. I tried on one beautiful purple dress from jacques vert and knew I felt incredible wearing it. Having seen your wedding day vlog, you looked so beautiful and I hope you felt a million dollars. ❤

Thank so much for sharing your experience. I enjoyed it so much. My daughter had a very similar experience. She had just got engaged and we decided on a whim to go look at dresses. I ask her if she had an idea of what she wanted. She described what kind of dress she was thinking would suit her. We looked through the dresses and I found one like she described to me. She said that it was exactly what she was looking for. She picked a few more out to see what would look best on her. She tried the one I found on first and it was perfect. She tried the others on but they just weren’t quite right. We didn’t have long to decide because it happened to be a sale dress. They gave us a couple of hours so we picked up her grandmother and went for lunch then went back. She tried it on one more time and her grandmother cried. We all knew it was the one.
This feels so close to my dress experience. I picked the second dress I tried on and it was perfect. I also decided to have a final fitting/alteration the week of the wedding because I knew I wasn't going to be monitoring my body in the lead up. When I had it taken out a bit in that final fitting my mom was surprised it didn't upset me, but the dress is what needed alterations - not me. Having something that tailored to fit (especially with a structured bodice and open back) is going to be finicky and it was a relief to have that built in to the week, knowing it was closer to how it would fit day of.

Ah this is bringing back so many memories of choosing my dress! I only went to one shop but they made me feel like their only customer and were so amazing. I chose a few dresses from the rack but was struggling so asked the assistant to pick one for me. Needless to say she was better at her job than I was and I absolutely adored what she picked! I kept going back to it too. Totally different from what I thought I’d get. I expected strapless full skirt and ended up with strapped fitted, which as a plus size girlie I never would have expected to like, but it was “the one”! Thanks for sharing your journey! X

Oddly enough they were the closest bridal shop to my now Mother-in-law's home so that was the only reason i thought I'd try them. Totally wasnt expecting to find the one there and yet there it was!
I also am not my own biggest fan of how i look and definitely got the feeling of relief and tears and shock at feeling like 'I actually look like a bride!!'. It's such a beautiful feeling, one that everyone deserves to have. I'm so so glad that you found the dress that gave you that feeling and you look absolutely beautiful in it. Like a Princess. 🥰✨❤️🤗

When I got married in 1969 I ended up buying the first dress I tried on. When you know you know. I love the sleeves you added and the dress is truly gorgeous. Good choice on no veil. You are radiant. I cried when I watched your wedding video. Can't wait to see the rest of your trip. Love you both.

I never found one in a bridal boutique that I liked that I could afford so I ended up in a dress from Monsoon. I ordered it online and when it arrived I sort of wasn't fussed but i tried it on and stood in front of the mirror and was like oh my gosh! So quickly whipped it round to the tailors the next day as i was in love. You looked like an absolute princess, what a stunning dress x

Loved this so much. Can totally relate with the experience I had. I'm similar size to you and felt like I would have to have a certain shape dress so I was picking wrong. Luckily, I gave in to my stubborn side and let the woman in the shop pick one for me to try on..

I am getting married in May next year and I have put off wedding dress shopping because I absolutely hate my body and always have struggled with my body as you have mentioned, I thought nothing was going to look nice and to be honest it was the part I was dreading. I found a boutique online and ended up just booking an appointment on the wim. I was so so nervous on the day, I didn’t know what I wanted but the amazing consultant bought out a dress (it was the third dress) she did it up and wow the emotions I felt was really overwhelming. But my god I felt so wonderful in it, I completely resonate with what you’re saying about the dress feeling right and looking right on my body. I had the most amazing experience and cannot wait to get it back and fitted properly etc. Advice for future brides would be to enjoy the experience as you will look amazing in your dress!🩷

Unfortunately for me I wish I could change my wedding dress. I didn’t take anyone with me when I was designing it and I cried and cried when I picked it up I hated it. My husband and I eloped to Far North Queensland, I absolutely loved everything about our wedding day except my dress.

So I hated my wedding dress that I wore for our wedding in 2022 - was purchased in 2018 for a 2020 wedding. But unfortunately Covid made us delay which unfortunately made me fall out of love with the dress. I cried putting it on on the day itself, and even now writing this, it makes me sad. - you, Brogan, looked absolutely beautiful and the “feels” you get from the right dress is massive. Genuinely so happy for both you and Benji having your wedding day and seeing you both in your finery.

I tried on 1 dress, brought online from John Lewis during covid.. loved it & don’t regret a thing! Odd doing the experience by myself, at home & the first dress being thee dress but meant that I was happy & truly that’s what mattered ☺️

I wasn't happy with my body in the build up to my wedding 16 years ago but I knew a traditional wedding dress wasn't for me. I tried on one beautiful purple dress from jacques vert and knew I felt incredible wearing it. Having seen your wedding day vlog, you looked so beautiful and I hope you felt a million dollars. ❤

Thank so much for sharing your experience. I enjoyed it so much. My daughter had a very similar experience. She had just got engaged and we decided on a whim to go look at dresses. I ask her if she had an idea of what she wanted. She described what kind of dress she was thinking would suit her. We looked through the dresses and I found one like she described to me. She said that it was exactly what she was looking for. She picked a few more out to see what would look best on her. She tried the one I found on first and it was perfect. She tried the others on but they just weren’t quite right. We didn’t have long to decide because it happened to be a sale dress. They gave us a couple of hours so we picked up her grandmother and went for lunch then went back. She tried it on one more time and her grandmother cried. We all knew it was the one.
This feels so close to my dress experience. I picked the second dress I tried on and it was perfect. I also decided to have a final fitting/alteration the week of the wedding because I knew I wasn't going to be monitoring my body in the lead up. When I had it taken out a bit in that final fitting my mom was surprised it didn't upset me, but the dress is what needed alterations - not me. Having something that tailored to fit (especially with a structured bodice and open back) is going to be finicky and it was a relief to have that built in to the week, knowing it was closer to how it would fit day of.

Ah this is bringing back so many memories of choosing my dress! I only went to one shop but they made me feel like their only customer and were so amazing. I chose a few dresses from the rack but was struggling so asked the assistant to pick one for me. Needless to say she was better at her job than I was and I absolutely adored what she picked! I kept going back to it too. Totally different from what I thought I’d get. I expected strapless full skirt and ended up with strapped fitted, which as a plus size girlie I never would have expected to like, but it was “the one”!
