NOTE: I'll be making a new review video coming soon on the uograded version of this: the StopBox Pro. Quite a few improvements over this model and I've really enjoyed the upgrade so far.
You can stack coupons. I googled the codes (a bunch of 10% off ones) and it let me add them all! I got ours BOGO plus the free mag holder for $103 total, after tax! The price held me back previously too, but I decided to see if I could stack the coupons this year and it worked!
The price is ridiculous for something all plastic except for a few screws and springs. I can get a decent all-steel lock box for half the price, which shows how overpriced this is. I can see the possible application for this. But not for the crazy price.
It opened on accident. He had to use his second hand to separate the lids, but it seems gravity is enough to have it open effortlessly SOMETIMES. Not a guarantee.
@@302Camaro make sure your pressing down with the palm of your hand prior to pushing the keys in. Their newest version actually has this and more. Quite a few improvements. I've got one that I've been testing and will be making a new video reviewing it soon.
This would be a great solution for $50 to $70, not $129. If you want to support American manufacturing, you're gonna have to innovate further, spend more money on process development, not Facebook ads. I'd bet Zuck is Stopbox biggest expense.
@@richarde1355 And if you don't want two? All a two for one sale is, is an admission that your price is so high that you can cut it in half and still make a profit... Not actually a smoking deal, just a marketing tactic.
When I originally saw this, I was all in, but then I watched video after video of people handing them to their kids, and 30 seconds later the kid had it open. Too few combinations. Also, the electronic Vaultek Lifepod is better, cheaper, and TSA compliant. If this was 1/4 the price, I would use it as a case for my more expensive handguns, and then place the whole thing in a much larger gun safe. So for me it's a hard pass. What could they do to make it safer? Mirror the buttons to the other side so both hands have to press buttons to open it. 10 buttons total.
I recently recieved their newest box and it has quite a few improvements including improvements in the combination possibilities. I'll be making a new review video showing the changes very soon and addressing a lot of the comments I've seen on this video.
Received two as a gift from someone who is not a gun person at all. It's a shame they spent so much money on these...they're worth maybe $20 at most. If you just jam all the keys at once, it will open. This will keep out someone whose hands aren't large or strong enough to hit the buttons...maybe...but I would not trust this thing to keep a 5 year old out of it. To be honest, I wouldn't trust this thing to keep a 2 year old out indefinitely. I can't think of a use case where this is sufficient protection for a loaded gun.
This is a great idea for next to bed, etc. However!!! It does NOT open as easily as in the video. I can't imagine being able to open it in the middle of the night in the dark. Very hard to lift top with only one hand.
You don't mention the cables available to attach the box to a solid fixture in your vehicle to keep it from getting lifted. One note buy, the cable from Snap Safe they are cheaper there then from Stop Box, and stop box gets them from Snap Safe. I find it interesting Snap Safe sells cables included with their lock boxes. Stop box sells them separate. So you pay over $100 for the box and an addtional $25 for the cable. These boxes are good I guess, but in States like California they are not CADOJ approved so you could not use them for storage per se.
They had a bogo deal and the third one for 60 instead of 150 so i picked up 3 and im giving one as a gift. That means i essentially paid $70 a piece, personally i think they should sell these for $50 a piece especially when i could go to harbor freight and buy a steel lock and key box for $20 so for the cost of one of these on sale i cpuld get three steel ones.
It's definitely a higher price point for what it is. I'm almost three years into using mine and it works great. I'd still buy another one if it ended up breaking.

It's spring loaded, so when you push down and apply the finger code, as soon as you release it opens. You can see how quickly I am able to operate it in the video. Much faster than any keycode combination or thumbprint reader device. .
I’m kind of mad that they advertise this as a safe by saying that they don’t want electronics and batteries to get in the way of accessing a gun… which is a subtle way of saying that it’s some kind of safe

Sorry to hear that! I still have the same box and use it daily. I agree they could make it feel more durable though. Although, after probably a thousand opens and closes throughout the last three years it hasn't had any issues for me.
It's not designed for it, but there are rubber feet on the bottom that can be peeled off and have an indent in the base. You could easily drill through to attach it to a table.
Correct. It can easily be stolen (doesn't attach to anything) and only has a handful of combination possibilities so any adult or teen could open it. Mainly for concealment and young child proofing.
