Being an all-around music nut, and not what you would call an educated jazz listener, I clicked on this simply because I recognized some of the players of whom I was already a fan - and became a fan of the rest of them as they collectively blew my mind... So off-the-chart tasteful and utterly jammin at the same time.
When Joey DeFrancesco quotes Ahmad Jamal's "New Rhumba" at 49:30 I get giddy! You can actually watch his thought process on his face. How creative and thoughtful. Great band, too. Thanks for the post.
Thank you. This is exquisite. As of now, after roughly 5 years up on YT and 27,000 views? Perhaps Devo was right... Homo Sapiens has peaked and on the downhill slide... at least in the Creative Arts. Sad.
Darryl Jones est terrible. Pour moi le meilleur groupe autour de miles davis. Une énergie une force.. Ford envois du lourd les autres sont du même tonneau bravo🎺roney sonne comme miles ......a certains moments...
Robben Ford sounds like a Frissell rip off. With run on phrasing. Makes no sense. Organ comping is wack. Drums are like from a bad jam band -- no discipline.
RIP Joey. Thank you for your work, which lives on.
Music miss him 😔
I miss Wallace Roney. I am his big fun. He totally knew Miles's trumpet play.
great groove
The good fortune and appreciation all of these musicians convey is truly heartwarming!
i'm surprised Miles didn't show up in person because these guys are in jazz heaven.
JOEY DEFRANCESCO, ROBBEN FORD, OMAR HAKIM, DARRYL JONES, RICK MARGITZA, AND WALLACE RONEY thank ya so much..!
Wallace play spirit Miles Davis amazing

He gives it lots of air, too. Nice touch!
Magníficamente presentado y Joey impecable siempre
Прослушал дважды, прочитал en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_Smiles - начинаю слушать по новой. Был космос, теперь открытый космос. Рекомендую ! ! !
-I like the man and the car too, R. Ford did a fantastic perform, and the others the same...
Çok güzel olmuş. Aferin.

Very much !
Questi musicisti sono Dei scesi dall'Olimpo per farci sentire come si suona.... al min 46:59 Robben Ford fa partire la sua carica esplosiva....
Nice.
Set list?

at min 18:02 you appeared... you are a beautiful girl... will you marry me?
Miles never performed of recorded with an organ. Why would you add one and claim to love Miles.
Oh, a serious music lover.
You do know that the one big requirement to be able to play in this band is that you have to have gigged with Miles, right?
There's organ in "In a Silent Way", courtesy of Joe Zawinul, just to mention one.
More ignorance Mile's bands and history Dan? Embarrassing yourself here.
I wonder if Dan even knows who Miles is!
Robben Ford sounds like a Frissell rip off. With run on phrasing. Makes no sense. Organ comping is wack. Drums are like from a bad jam band -- no discipline.
Since Robben played with Miles and not you, he can do what he likes.
Robben played in Miles' band quite a while. I go with Miles's opinion of Robben's playing thanks.
Yeah, Joey DeFrancesco comping is whack. Joey one of the greatest Hammond players in the world. How could Miles have been so stupid? /sarcasm
No one without cloth ears is confusing Robben with Bill Frisell.
