  • To keep your hips feeling happy, it's important to not just stretch the hip flexors, but also to stretch your adductors (inner thigh muscles). Do these stretches to feel a big difference in your hips! The adductors are a muscle group that people often neglect to stretch and yet has such an impact on the health of your hip joints.

I don't do a whole lot of yoga, but for meditation....this was amazing. Right-knee used to float 5" off the deck, I'd spend the whole session thinking about how uncomfortable I was, esp. knee. These stretches, few times a day, for only about a week was enough to get everything sitting flat and.....comfortable! Metta, and cheers :]

Hi Brea, I’m an ex-runner who is 5 months post right hip replacement and have completed Physical Therapy sessions.
Yoga replace running for me before months before my surgery but I prefer working out at home for right now. I LOVE this hip video and the dynamic movements.
I still have a ways to go to regain full flexibility but I’m getting there. I’m able to modify some of your moves and they are really helping meThanks so much for sharing. I have found your videos extremely helpful.

Thanks and liked this video. A couple of questions - why not stretching to release the muscles? This video is for mobility and flexibility, but if the muscle is tight, these exercises are not effective, right? My question is - can we include pigeon pose before starting this workout?

Hi Brea, first of all, thank you for putting this out. Question, if you have time, my outer hips, like glute medias or minimus area is constantly going into cramp when I’m putting my legs out in the first stretch or even standing wide angle. Any tips or do I just keep practicing this? Thanks again

Mam, can you tell if these are good even if a person has inflamed piriformis? mostly short muscle condition due to lets say extensive/incorrect exercise earlier. SO i found some good yoga poses for that condition. But will the above also help?

Hello Brea - I wonder if you can help?
I did 4 years of yoga, before I developed a shoulder injury . Prior to that I injured my groin/abductors (somehow). I think I overstretched during a yoga session.
However, 2 years on - after seeing a Chiropractor, an osteopath, having deep tissue massages and doing gentle daily stretching, I'm still in such discomfort and extreme tightness with my abductors.
I'm told by my remedial massage lady, that it's very possibly the QL and Psoas, which I have always suspected, causing the abductors to be so tight. After a session with her, where she worked on thr QL and Psoas, I had a good day following. It was the most relief id felt in months. Yet it crept back I'm the day after. I did do about 30 trips up and down the stairs at work though.
It's making me so miserable as inside I'm this very active person, and I'm so restricted. I am having to use heat bags every day, and I even stretch with them on me. I feel about 80.
I never had this whilst doing yoga over 4 years. But since an (possible) overstretch, it's been a daily struggle.
One thing I can't find answers to online or anywhere is - why, when I squat down to pick something up, or when getting up off the couch after sitting, I feel a painful twang in my right abductor. It feels like someone's flicked an elastic band.
Can you please offer me any advice and words of encouragement that this is now not my life and I'm that im not going to have to live with this every day?
I'm going to try your stretches. I do stretching every day - cat/cow, butterfly, the Psoas release one (on back, knees up, feet flat to floor and drop both knees to one side, then repeat on other side). I also do Child's-pose and the standing lunge, from side to side.
I'm now waiting to see if I can get am MRI to show any soft tissue damage. I've had Xrays and the hip bones are showing to be fine. I've had a leg length check, all okay. I've also had my spine checked - that showed it was slightly curved but nothing major.
I appreciate any advice that can help me get my life back ❤️
    Thank you in advance!

Stretches are great... but you spend/waste a lot of time explaining what the stretch is before actually getting into the position.

Hi and thanks a lot for your video. I have a question on your second exercise. As I am very stiff, I do not manage to open much. Would it be an alternative to do this exercise on the ground face down? Thanks a lot for your help
