My brother, thank you very much for this distinguished and righteous work that you are presenting. Thank you very much. You have presented something that you will be shown mercy for on the Day of Resurrection with a righteous deed that will admit you to Paradise by my Lord.
As much as I love Mercury as it’s American made and has great top end, as far as just a turn key start and go motor for 90% of boat owners, you can’t really beat the yam.
@@JustinLeeMarine both boats I’ve owned had Yamaha engines.even the 2005 -300 HDPI that was supposedly problematic always performed flawlessly. The 200 hp Salt water series 2 stroke before that one was even more bullet proof.
What other additions do the new 300’s have that’s similar to the 425’s other than the elec steering? Had any comments on the db level yet? My 425’s were pretty darn loud. Only negative in my book. Thk u
They are loud. I noticed that too. There is really nothing different but the cowl, steering and gearcase. Still the same reliable 4.2 v6 under the cowl. 😊
Hi Justin, thanks for posting these videos. Was thinking of getting a 2022 Grady-White Freedom 325DC and keeping it in the water (slip). For the Yamaha 300s is it imperative that you change the gear oil every 100 hours or every year? I was wondering if it would be ok to change the gear oil every 2 years when we pull the boat for bottom paint since the boat has to be out of the water to be changed. My understanding is that only the 425XTO can the gear oil be changed while the boat is in the water. Expected to put about 250 hours a year on the engines. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
I would change it every year. It's not because the gear oil is bad it's because you want to check for water in the gear oil. If there is water you need to check the seals. Yamaha driveshaft seals are known to fail. You can change the gear oil in the 425XTO without pulling the boat. They have special adapters for those motors.
Hi living in Philippines now have a 0x66 250 2000 didn't see water in my fuel now engine will not start have cleared All water out and have 35lbs fuel pressure but injectors have no electricity to them when trying to start s so will not start any tips Thanks No marine mechanic in my area So I need help Thanks 😅
There is a relay that controls the start on the ox66. I would check that first. It is a little box on the starboard side above the rectifier/regulator.
I don't think there is much difference in the commercial series. Maybe less warranty, different steering and cable driven controls. That's how it used to be anyway. Not sure about the new series of engines. I wouldn't hesitate to use Yamaha for anything really. They are the most reliable outboards. One of the reasons they have more than 60% of the market. 🤗
How have the new 425’s held up? I’ve heard the advice that it’s best to wait a few years before buying a new model. Wondering if that’s the case with the new yams
Yamaha vs Mercury…. I’m team Yamaha. I feel like the verados always need to be on high rpm’s to perform well. Plus yamaha keeps elevating the standards each year

Great Video!
Love that Police boat. I'd kill for those seats. And welds.

Cool look at the Yamaha line up-Police/Coast guard/DEA boats are all usually ultra-bad ass
Yamaha always improves things and I had to film that boat as it is amazing. You don't get to see them to often. Thought everyone would enjoy it.

@@johnm5714 I personally wouldn't have any other outboard unless you get into racing. Mercury does that the best.

What about the 300 commercial series? How are they in your opinion?

They have been great. Typical Yamaha product😁
Hopefully they put them on a diet and I’ll get one in 10 years when I trade in the f300.
