- Finally! I bought a LogRite Peavey with log stand. I got the 60 inch long model as I wanted all the leverage I could get. Watch the video and you'll see the ease of lifting hundreds of pounds of log up plenty high enough to never have to worry about getting the chainsaw down in the dirt.
This is one of those tools I wish I had 20 years ago!

I have one from Stihl looks just like this so my best guess is Logrite are the guys who make them for Stihl as it’s real nice and really well built!

These are awesome. I bought the Woodchuck version instead and it is awesome. Super beefy yet light like this one. Also made in the USA.

Any way to compare the Logrite to the Woodchuck? Is one better than the other?
@@GodsItalianStallion I ended up getting the 60” Logrite after using it in our part time tree service. The woodchuck I got would not open as wide to grab the larger logs. I would go Logrite if I could only have one.
I sure like mine. I used it more in the last 6 months than ever before. It's so heavy duty built.

Is the sleeve welded to the stick? My wood handle canthook always try to slide on the handle?
Yes it is welded.
I don't have any experience with other brands, but this Logrite is extremely rugged built.

You mesure it at 58 3/8" at arounf the 0:46 min. mark. Is that handle lenfth iself, or does that include all the way to the top of the end point? If the prior, does it come to 60" when measured all the way to tip of the end point? Thanks
I just went out and measured it again and got right at 58 1/2 inches total from end of handle to tip point. Any difference would just be my eye lining up the tape.

I thought the point was very close to the hook pivot. What do you think?
Hi Dave, I just took another look at it because I couldn't remember if the tip was adjustable or not.
It's not, there's a roll pin to hold it.
As far as the point and hook pivot...it will lift logs it was designed to lift.
I'm getting ready to put her to use here shortly. Our ash trees are still dying off.

Why did you choose the Peavey vs the Cant unit. I’n still not sure which way to go. Your input will be useful. Thanks
I put an order in for some cable chokers, connectors, etc., at a logging equipment (online) supplier, and they just so happen to have the Logrite 60 Peavey inch with stand in stock so I grabbed it.
Some users report the cant will grab the log better to turn, so that is a good thing.
The pointed Peavey is better at jabbing between tightly packed logs to separate them, as in sawmill duty.
All my use is one at a time log elevation in order to keep the chain up and out of the dirt. No packed logs, but if two do happen to roll tight together, the spike is nice to jab in there and the leverage with the Logrite is more than enough to roll one away from the other.
These Logrites are super heavy duty built! I hate to think how long I went without one and how many times I struggled to turn a log. Not anymore!

@@pmtips4482 thanks for the details you shared, it make a good “point”, no play on words. I’m thinking of getting either but what I will do when I make the purchase is: I’ll also get either an extra part whether it’s the peavey point or the cant end. Doing this I can experiment with each option for only about $15 extra. Again, thank you.
