actually it does even remember the setting "show last touched" one that I mostly use, the colapsed is my default now anyway

Agreed, thanks! In my 10 years of using REAPER though I have never actually used the envelope window though. I always just set Ctrl+P to the action "add envelope for last touched parameter" - much more intuitive!

This does actually look better. I would prefer it to be this way by default. I do lots of Psytrance, etc. Fx Chains can get pretty large. And i sometimes just put the fx at the end or beginning of the chain so i can find it quickly in the automation menu. But then i have to go back and place the fx where it actually belongs. This new menu is definitely more optimal imo.
