Know it properly wouldn't happen, but would love to see this series go through the '90! Nevertheless, love this series and all the work put into it! It was great when it was first posted and just as cool these days. Thanks to all involved
Before it's time I guess. The Indiegogo campaign to keep it going only raised about $13K USD from 350 backers back in 2013. If Delia gave it a crack now I imagine he'd do much, much better. Then again maybe it had it's time. That was almost a decade ago, and most of these guys seem to have moved on to other things. If they used the same formula of passionate, content creating gaming nerds, who would it be?
@Emiliano Hurtado so? People can get better and beat addiction?? Either way there’s plenty of people who would love to be on here. This series just deserves more recognition.
I watched the entire series and I must say I learned alot to appreciate older gaming culture. Im a millennial whose biggest gaming influence came from the early 90s. I hope yall do a series about 90s gaming industry. Also im surprised street fighter wasnt mentioned in a 80s
I love that the makers of Ducktales simply chose Scrooge instead of his much, much younger triplet nephews. In an action game. And it worked. Then they made a sequel.
It is hard to believe that it has 9 generations of consoles from Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, Sony and PC and many other video game companies since the beginning of the video game industry in the 1970's. The games have gone a long way since then, and I am sure it is going to be even more impressive as technology evolves.
Though it was covered in 1987, I enjoyed Jaws. Friday the 13th wasn't bad either, but I found it confusing as hell as a kid. I just watched a video that explained many things I never knew. For example, Jason's route isn't random, and many objectives like saving counselors, lighting fires, and Pamela Voorhees are optional. I might play it again just to beat it finally.
I turned 13 in summer 1989 and had been NES crazy since getting one for my 11th birthday in the summer of 1987. I got a game boy at release and played it to death. I'm 45 today and still a dedicated console gamer. I'll never outgrow this passion.
Thanks for uploading these to youtube. So much work has gone into them - I've watched all of them a few of times and still better than the Netflix docs.
Ironic and a little sad that every one of these features the PS1 prominently in the end of the intro sequence but yet the series never touches the 90’s, a pivotal decade in gaming.
Budokan! I had that game on floppy disk. The series is great, really comprehensive. It has helped me relive and recall so many things from my childhood that are truly fond memories that may have been lost otherwise. Thank you.

Nice Escape Club reference. Galaxy Force was notable for being used in SNL's Philadelphia toy commercial as "Philadelphia: the Video Game". PHILADELPHIA! I was surprised to not hear about SMB3 on the Play Choice 10. Before the Wizard came out, there was around a dozen of us that knew about it in the beginning of the school year. There was a machine at the local Price Chopper, that had it that summer... At the end of October 1989, me and a friend went in with $35 roughly, and got all the way to 5-2. We found the warp whistle in world 2 by Thanksgiving, and then were able to explore worlds 5 through 7. By the end of January 1990, we knew about the scene in the Wizard, and had been able to see world 8. Before I got the game in late February, I had seen all but the last 4 stages in world 7, and the final level. We got to the tank in the last stretch, and saw Bowsers Castle, but never made it there... True story... Just before the Wizard came out, we were talking about it at school. We made it to world 5 in late October... Does anyone else remember playing SMB3 in late summer of 89.
You have been releasing these rather rapidly compared to how they were, and you're doing a fantastic job - this is my favorite series on youtube right now! Keep up the great work!!
@@SlCKB0Y-sb1kg Kind of… It was more early personal computer and hacker culture than video games oriented though. Unless an ascii text version of tic tac toe qualifies :)
You'd always want the Game Boy's contrast wheel on anything other than maximum because on maximum you wouldn't see anything, same as minimum. The whole point is to adjust it to wherever the screen looks the best, which is somewhere inbetween and differs depending on how much battery life remains.
Loving the series, clearly a lot of work going into these. Just one little thing, to make it feel more documentarily, have a more organic transition between segments - that would help add to that aesthetic
I know plenty segments do have a nice natural feeling transition, there’s just a number that are hard cuts, which feel out of place in a documentary. You kinda want to be led into the next thing, but without completely cutting from the previous one. It’s probably just me anyway, don’t mind what I say. Everything is 99% fine :)
Hard Drivin' legit scared me from real driving. I thought driving a real car was as hard as the game and avoided wanting to learn longer than I should have.
I always thought if they had started in the 90s it would of been more popular. Even if they had done one series 90-99 then series 2 80-89 it would have gain more traction
I remember the Elvira pinball table, if you pushed the star button without feeding the machine she would say "don't touch me there" in a subductive voice lol
I played a lot of Tiger LCD games. Before that I had this football game where you were a red slash and you had to beat the other red slashes through the rest of the fields to score. I love that game still. Can't remember the name or manufacture though.
One thing I always thought was kind of weird was how in the Super Mario Bros. Super show's animated Mario segments they made Mario completely obsessed with pasta. Why? Just because he is Italian? Not once in any Mario game does Mario ever have anything to do with pasta. But for some reason in the cartoons they gave Mario an insatiable appetite for pasta that rivals even Garfield. I always thought this was odd.
This is a cool series and all, but have people had a memory wipe or something? Maybe Dr Strange has cast a "forget the series" spell? This series is about 10yrs old, it's been on RUclips for ages and ages already, all that's happened (I think) is that Pat has bought the series and moved it to this channel.
