I will say part of me is glad you are doing this game before Arkham so you get to experience it without any Arkham bias (some of the hate this game got was from some folks that couldn't help but compare it to the Arkham series.)

What hits me hardest about this game is that it came out just 20 days before Kevin Conroy (the undisputed greatest Batman voice ever who played the character for 30 years) passed away from cancer. Kevin may not have voiced Bruce in this game but watching Batman die just to have the actual Batman die less than 3 weeks later hurt
Ra's Al Ghul is the man who trained Bruce to be a warrior. Its a lore character. He basically wanted Bruce to lead an army to destroy gotham. But then Bruce left Ra's group and came back to Gotham to become Batman instead. Ra's believes the only way to destroy the corruption of gotham is to destroy the city itself. Bruce believed he could save it. Two ideologies conflicting to try to defeat the evil in Gotham
Annnnd that is where the heir part comes in, got it! Thats CRAZY that he got trained up by him and they had such conflicting ideas that they ended up being each others end. But I guess really wasn't Bruce's, bc he ended up making up a whole family of bat babies to continue his legacy and protect Gotham 🥲... But maybe Ra's too 👀not sure yet since I still don't know his daughter intentions yet, shes an interesting character. ty for the lore knowledge!

By the way, you can choose between characters. Theres a corner at the Belfry where you can choose to switch. Switch characters often and you'll be able to unlock scenes for each character and even interesting side missions. This game has lots to do 🙂

Batman was a whole specimen of manhood, why would game kill off such a MAAAAN 😭 All that said, Batgirl is my favorite in this game. The story is good. But i love the exploration. By the way the side missions start to become more frequent as the story progresses. Keep doing side quests as much as you can whenever they are available. The story is basically Main/Side missions, mixed together to create the story. Its interesting gameplay, almost like you're creating your journey yourself 😊

I've been having so much fun with it I decided to start doing as many side missions as I can find and just try to leave out what doesn't serve the story, but if they mix well with the story I'm gonna add it in! 😊 The hardest part about a bigger game like this that I know nothing about is I have no idea what people wanna see and what to cut out lol, but that is solid advice thank you! It gonna be a wild journey with the way I play thats for sure 😂

This game doesn't deserve the hate it got. It's good for what it is. I would suggest you play the Arkham games after this in release order. Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Origins, and finally Arkham Knight. Have fun!

Not as much early on, but as you progress the story, theres gonna be more crimes going on around the city. His first child is *Dick Grayson (1st Robin, now as Nightwing), his second child is Jason Todd (2nd Robin, now as Red Hood), his third child is Tim Drake (3rd Robin, now as Red Robin) his fourth child and only daughter is Cassandra Cain (was called Orphan, the 2nd Batgirl, now as Black Bat), his only biological child and the youngest among Batman's kids is Damian Wayne (the 5th and current Robin).* There are many other heroes Batman is allied and worked with aside from the Gotham Knights and those who work with them such as the Justice League where he is a founding member and main pillar along with Superman & Wonder Woman, Young Justice, Teen Titans, Titans, etc.

My idea of how Beth became Alice is that Beth was killed in the Kane ransom incident and Beth was resurrected in Safiyah's very own Lazarus pit and pit affected Beth's mind into Alice as if she was under mad hatter's mind control.
I'm am so sure you've already been told of this but yes the game definitely let's you change your character throughout the story and even greatly encourages it Different scenes play out differently with other characters, so as you pick who you wanna play as it will also create your own story, it's like a very light version of the telltale games lol Also depending on how you use each character, all 4 can feel aither extremely the same or extremely different from each other so have fun finding what you love the most and what works the best! Also when you're in the clock tower during the day make sure to change into each character and find their unique cutscenes, they're the icons with their hero symbols and those can be permanently missed, so make sure you dont forget about them, you won't regret it!
Yes, I have been switching between them since! Annnd that makes a lot of sense why when I first switched to Red Hood I found a cutscene in the kitchen area of the belfray but didn’t see it when I was running around there as Barbara lol. That’s such a cool’s touch it does make the story feel more personal and worth switching between them! Good advice

By the way, Oracle is another name Barbara Gordon went by in the Batman lore/comics. Oracle was like an espionage tech woman who helped Batman with surveillance and special undercover missions. In the Knightsverse she was Oracle and then came back to being Batgirl when Batman died. She saw Bruce like another father figure so you can see how she would want to continue his legacy and fight for what he believed in.
Without spoiling too much, in lore Jason Todd was killed by The Joker and then Ra's Al Ghoul brought him back to life. This is why he is a big aggressive. He's messed up mentally after being tortured and killed, and then brought back to life. This game doesn't really explain this very well as it's sorta like a New Beginning game for the Batfamily. But basically that's the story behind Jason Todd. He was one of Batman's allies before he died. But when he came back to life, he brought back a lot of rage and mental issues. He's a good boy at heart, just dealing with alot of trauma. Which is why he's so aggressive sometimes.

Im a hardcore batman/batfamily lover and ive always loved this game because i get to play as the batfamily for once, the combat system is a little weird at first but i really love this game but too bad a lot of other fans hated this game because the system or game mechanics were not like the arkham games or something, dont really remember. Glad i found your channel!

Loving your channel so far and this is my first video im seeing of yours I was assuming you've played the Arkham games before lol but yea Ra's AL Ghul is the father of Talia who's a main love interest of Batman, they have a son Damien Wayne who becomes the 5th Robin . The Batfamily is huge and Batmans in the Justice League. You should watch some of the DC animated stuff the live action movies dont touch on all the characters

I think every universe should be allowed to tell their own version of the story, reasonably of course lol. the Arkhamverse is my favorite, but i liked the Knightsverse for what it introduced and tried to do. Not the best game ever, but i'll take it over SS-KJL any day XD
i recommend playing the arkham series, you'll enjoy it alot if you're into batman. you could also play the assassins' creed series if you're into that type of thing, would be cool to see

With respect, Saying "you can continue playing" but then saying 'its a failure' ... that's such an indirect way of telling her she shouldn't play the game. Just because you start with a neutral standpoint, doesn't hide the fact that you clearly have a bias. She's having fun with the game and that's all that matters. As someone who loves Arkham games, i think GK is good for what it is. Not as good as the Arkham series, but still worth playing. I think it'll actually be good for her to play this first, then when she gets into Arkham series she'll be able to appreciate it even more, and even become more comfortable with the play-style and world. Till then there's no point in making negative comments about a game that she's clearly enjoying. i think she said Arkham is next after this. so lets just be chill and let her enjoy her batman journey

But basically that's the story behind Jason Todd. He was one of Batman's allies before he died. But when he came back to life, he brought back a lot of rage and mental issues. He's a good boy at heart, just dealing with alot of trauma. Which is why he's so aggressive sometimes.

Im a hardcore batman/batfamily lover and ive always loved this game because i get to play as the batfamily for once, the combat system is a little weird at first but i really love this game but too bad a lot of other fans hated this game because the system or game mechanics were not like the arkham games or something, dont really remember. Glad i found your channel!

gotham knights was fun enjoyed the game and wait till u beat it the ending is good i beat it with redhood if i play it again i might be robin or nightwing try a diffrent charachter

Loving your channel so far and this is my first video im seeing of yours I was assuming you've played the Arkham games before lol but yea Ra's AL Ghul is the father of Talia who's a main love interest of Batman, they have a son Damien Wayne who becomes the 5th Robin . The Batfamily is huge and Batmans in the Justice League. You should watch some of the DC animated stuff the live action movies dont touch on all the characters

Yea the Justice League show is fun and good its also connected to Superman Animated series, Static Shock show who's another DC hero, Justice League Unlimited which is the sequel show to Justice League and Batman Beyond which is set in the future after Justice League

Arkhamverse, Burtonverse, Knightsverse, and so on. I think every universe should be allowed to tell their own version of the story, reasonably of course lol. the Arkhamverse is my favorite, but i liked the Knightsverse for what it introduced and tried to do. Not the best game ever, but i'll take it over SS-KJL any day XD

i recommend playing the arkham series, you'll enjoy it alot if you're into batman. you could also play the assassins' creed series if you're into that type of thing, would be cool to see

To let ya know you can continue playing this but this game was a failure bc it's a loot based game with a lot of things wrong with it.
With respect, Saying "you can continue playing" but then saying 'its a failure' ... that's such an indirect way of telling her she shouldn't play the game. Just because you start with a neutral standpoint, doesn't hide the fact that you clearly have a bias. She's having fun with the game and that's all that matters. As someone who loves Arkham games, i think GK is good for what it is. Not as good as the Arkham series, but still worth playing. I think it'll actually be good for her to play this first, then when she gets into Arkham series she'll be able to appreciate it even more, and even become more comfortable with the play-style and world. Till then there's no point in making negative comments about a game that she's clearly enjoying. i think she said Arkham is next after this. so lets just be chill and let her enjoy her batman journey
