That Jason and Alfred scene got me. It's the first time we see him show genuine sadness and it's like at that moment, he became a kid again. So good

The Jason and Alfred scene followed by him preparing dinner with the rest of the family was effective to me. I liked seeing Jason happy and sort at peace with people again.
Clark sending an e-mail to check up on Jason is so wholesome.
Indeed, I love the idea that Clark checks up on the most outcasted Robin every now and then.
@@scrabdusanproductions2104 Same. I know Clark had a solid relationship with Dick but I'd love the idea that he got to be aware of every Robin, even Jason with his relatively brief tenure. It shows how much of a compassionate person Clark Kent is.

@@countdarkmire1759 True, I haven't read For the Man Who Has Everything yet but I have seen panels of Jason in that fairly known scene with Wonder Woman, I just didn't know it was in that story when I first saw it.
How do I get to the third story of them it doesn’t pop up in the map after the second one
Dick Grayson: Filling in the role of leadership.
Tim Drake: Accepting who he is.
Barbara Gordon: Holding onto what is close.
Jason Todd: Feeling accepted among his piers.
I would say they are all accepting things themselves (similar to what you said)
Dick - Accepting the role of leadership
Time - Accepting that he needs to be himself and not Batman, Alfred, or any predecessor
Barbara - Accepting loss so she can move on
Jason - Accepting that he can have family
Oh my gosh, so many feels in these scenes, especially with Barbara who had to go through this kind of loss twice. Loved the scene with Detective Montoya most.
Dick lost 3 parents in one lifetime, Barbara lost a mentor and her father. Dick wins the tragedy Olympics.

@@dylpickle0927 You're right...but when I see comments highlighting one characters tragedy, it makes me wonder how you pass over the others when they are much more tragic. It's like somebody complaining how much pain they're in after stubbing their toe, when they're sitting directly across from somebody who shattered both legs. Barbara's had it easy compared to these other guys.
The emails are a great touch. I had to look up a couple of names, and I was impressed with how many references they put in. The world feels much bigger because of these emails. Titans, Justice League, Bludhaven characters introduced in the recent Nightwing comics, etc., all fantastic
Similar to the Arkham games. If they're planning on supporting the game with DLC, I do hope they introduce that larger DC world into the game.
Jason starting to frown up and hug Alfred hit me right in the feels 😥. I also love his scenes with Babs, the interactions between the BatFam in this game is something else despite the negative reviews.
It’s scenes like this that makes Gotham knights worth playing despite what the haters think, because the interactions between each of the knights show how much they care for each other as a family and not just a team.
There will always be hater, but there will always be people like us, people that can see potential and actual good things despite the bad thing the game might have

Never thought there would be a video game where the main heroes’ character arcs are side missions. Someone wrote this. Incredible.

Obviously sarcastic. I mean, I enjoy the game. But I do agree with the critique that these should've been woven into the main storyline somehow. Not side content. That's just silly.
I was skeptical of Gotham Knights storyline and characters when it was first revealed. For years, DC had been using Batman as a safety net for games. But I gotta say, they blew the story out of the water! Not only did they get us to care more for the Batfam, they managed to remove the safety net.
From Dick’s insecurities, Barbra’s anger, Tim’s grieving, and Jason being…well, Jason, they managed to make a narrative where they all felt human, and made Batman the one thing he was lacking in a lot of stories. A caring father figure.
I’m still mixed on the gameplay, but man one thing is for sure, some of the character writing is top notch, these side activities especially.
Jason feels like he’s getting special treatment from the writers with how good he is in this game.
Montreal may not have started the Arkham series. But they really understand the Batman’s mythology on a whole new level.
I’m just trying to figure out how old is Alfred. He’s been around Batman’s father before he was born he’s been around batman and now he’s with the Gotham crew. I’m guessing about 73 years of age
I'd say somewhere in the 70s as well, as this Batman appears to be in his 40s and it seems generally accepted that Alfred is 30 years older than Bruce in most continuities.
Wait, character development on a super hero game after Marvel's Spider Man? And it's actually well writtin and acted?
Being honest, some of these scenes made me cry. It's everything you want to see in a story that Bruce is gone.
To be fair, it's not like there haven't been many superhero games after Marvel's Spider-Man beside its own spin-off Miles Morales, Avengers and GOTG, two of these did have character development for its lead cast.

The Arkham games weren't really that focused on that sort've thing. lol.
Like maybe they were there in small doses, but they definitely weren't that extensive.

After watching "Dick's Story #3", my first thought was, "I can easily see Raphael and Michelangelo (TMNT) act just like this". My second thought was, "This is why Alfred is the only one of the group who calls him "Richard" and everyone else calls him "Dick"".
I just realized that the the knights are like the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

This Nightwing doesn't even act like a leader. So no he ain't Leo.
The way this game makes you feel what the characters are is one of its best aspects. The writing and acting allow the gamer to experience the joy, sorrow, and anger of all these people. It's such a different feeling from original Arkham games where Batman rarely let his emotions show.

Jason's personal story is great, that hug with Alfred always gets me, but I absolutely love how he shines in other people's stories as well. The way he tells Tim "Try grieving" is some next level depth you wouldn't think would come from the "bruiser" of the group.
My god I love Nightwing because he's chatty and that's part of his charm. But deep down he's heartbroken his mentor/adopted father is gone.
Jason’s story makes me teary eyed it’s so good.
Even if the gameplay isn't perfect. The character interaction and general experience is what makes it a great game in my book. And i haven't even played in 2 player yet although thats just me not looking for people to play with.
I'm so happy that this channel is getting videos again and BAV/Daniel is doing an amazing job as he always does, but man, I feel like the game falls flat in the worst way, right at the finish line. The premise of the story and gameplay is so compelling to me as a huge batman nerd - Batman dead, the misfits he's taken under his wing forced to shoulder his responsibility, and a combat/stealth system that would've literally been perfect if they just directly ripped off the Arkham Series one - but it just falls flat from what I've seen. "Evading" lacks the meaty satisfaction that countering did, and just grappling instead of hookshot/glider comboing or something along those lines feel super weird too. And that's not even getting into the technical glitches/bugs that I've heard plague most early gameplay/systems so far.
And from a story perspective, there's so much promise - even in this video, Barbara not remembering her father's face, Dick trying to be a leader while learning the similarities and differences between himself and Bruce, Jason trying to come to terms with dying and coming back to life - but the dialogue just, I dunno, feels stilted and awkward, like it doesn't do justice to the characters who actually say them, if it makes any sense.

I think the general characterization of the core cast is good, but yeah, the dialogue feels like the writer’s a robot trying to simulate human interactions. There’s always that level of uncanny valley in there somewhere, and its funny once you start noticing it.
The story itself had loads of potential, but the execution falls flat in a lot of places. Hell, despite enjoying it for reasons that allude me, the gameplay just feels like a weird knockoff of the Arkham Games/Insomniac’s Spider-Man’s gameplay.
Its just weird like that.

Same. One of the reasons why I was excited when Gotham Knights was announced was to see Batman Arkham Videos make a big comeback again with walkthroughs, easter eggs and guides. Hopefully he'll get to covering the game's easter eggs as well because his Arkham City easter egg and references series is one of my favorite in RUclips videos ever.
Another thing I love about this game is all the references to the justice league young justice and the outlaws and there thoughts about Batman being dead
The game might not be as good as the arkham games but I am really living for these interactions.

I think people are being really unfair with this game. And I think that’s because people are always going to compare every Batman game to the Arkham series.
Deservedly so, it’s the better franchise.
I tried to enjoy it man but just doesn’t have the it factor I played for than hour and refunded constant frame drop when riding the bike, the UI is ass, the combat is whack
the hate is getting out of hand at this point they aren't even in the same universe but people can't accept the gameplay style is different
I like this game and can admit its average in a lot of areas. I really enjoy the character dynamics, slow mystery of uncovering the court of owls and the fact each character is their own character in terms of personality and moveset. But it drops the ball on a few things. I can accept the combat being different but it’s melee attacks and dodge feel sluggish. The traversal isn’t smooth and heroic traversal being locked behind the challenge is strange as well. Right now it’s a solid 6/10 for me but man I wish it was just overall better.

This game can seriously show Rocksteady that they can make a sequel to the Arkham series if Gotham knights can, suicide squad really doesn't seem like a smart choice for Rocksteady when people want a sequel to Arkham Knight
It should’ve been vice versa. WB Montreal is the baby studio so they should’ve been given the Arkham verse to manage (since all the work is done for them pretty much) on their own with all the tools give it to them and rocksteady should’ve been requested to start from scratch. I know it seems unfair but again rocksteady is the big brother out of the two
@@TheShifter1001 but hopefully WB can give Rocksteady the green light to make a sequel because so many people don't want the Arkham franchise to end, it was the best selling Batman games out there and gotham knights proves that a sequel can be possible, WB would be stupid to let that possibility go to waste

Barbara and Jason having a bonding moment is nice. You hardly ever get to see those two together. The more recent comics had them interacting in the "Three Jokers" storyline, though.

Bc he gets an email from her and it’s clear he had a relationship with babs at some point but Jason gets an email from Roy Harper and his email mentions Kory in it and Ik in some versions Jason dates Starfire, Ik I’m definitely putting too much thought into this but what’s going on here I’m honestly curious
There's no reference to Artemis and Bizzaro as far as I'm aware, so I'd assume that the 'Outlaws' in this universe are just Roy, Kori and Jason

Isn't Bruce Wayne canonically Jewish? Because it would make sense, it's a tradition in Jewish religion to put a stone on a grave.
Or it could simply be one of this tradition to mark that you paid a visit to someone's grave so other loved ones feel less alone when visiting as well because they can see the stone from someone who visited before them.

Shame how things ended with arkham knight which wasn't the best either.
You want good dialogue go outside and talk to people. Games aren't supposed to have good dialogues only good gameplay.

@@sansan445if you really enjoy the writing I don’t want to debate it and ruin it for you, but I’ll give an example. Barbara mentions she knows everything about dick with no prompting, adding that he likes some cereal, he cried when she broke up with him, and he checks himself out in the mirror. This was unprompted, there was no cause and effect for this to happen, it was just there to exposit that dick has some quirks and he dated babs. That’s one example. It’s not the worst I’ve ever seen but it’s not quality.

I don't know what it is, but something feels so wrong about this game just looking at the videos.
The ambience, the city, the graphics, something feels off, maybe because I lived so long under the shadow of Arkham Knight.
Somehow it sounds like a fortnite game in arkham universe.

I really don’t like this version of Dick Grayson, and it’s nothing on the actor but this is not the Dick Grayson that we’ve seen from the comics. Dick is supposed to be the leader, the successor, the light that even Batman could not be. But here… it seems like he some wimpy teenage boy straight out of a CW teen drama… Oh God.
I’m just being honest but it’s almost as if WB Montreal doesn’t know how to exercise leadership, thus they don’t know how to reflect in in their game. So while this game is trying this hardest to be something unique it falls to a subpar level as there seems to be a lack of cohesion on every fundamental level

You tend to forget Gotham knights is based off in it's own gaming verse like the Arkham series my boi so of course the characters are gonna be a lil different and the storyline just like the Arkham verse Grayson is more of a lone wolf as they explained it in an article I read 2 months ago and to be honest in the comics Dick Grayson did had only one trouble with leadership sometimes he tends to shoulder a lot on his own and forgets about his team only in the comics when he was Robin and he first ran into Slade but this showed they stayed true to Dick's personality despite the story being a bit different and I'm a Dick Grayson fan and to be honest I don't really see nothing wrong with his design me being the fan I am of him since day 1 I can definitely see dick Grayson's model looking like that but that's just my opinion 💯🤷
