Concrete work is HARD. Much respect!!
Also, great presentation. Short, sweet and to the point!
please make more videos you teach me alot , i poured 315 yards last month with a 10 foot vibrastrike 2, 1 man and i had alot of humps but it didnt matter in a cattle lot and they wanted massive volume for the cheapest price, all 5 inches. so I raked and tamped it with my come-along then pulled it back 10 feet at a time while working with the driver. some sectioned humped and some did not.
Thanks a lot, introduce Wonderful tools.
Great video. I am finishing my old garage. The floor has some cracks in it and looks like it was never screened when it was poured. It's very rough and out of level. Your videos will help me a lot and I hope to be done with it over the summer.
Quality Work Bro...good...
Thank you so much 😀
Saves a lot of time and a lot easier on the back. Only way to go
I’m so happy that you mentioned the rakers twice! We called them “come-alongs”. Very important we knew what was what!
Thanks, got to have good rakers behind a vibra-screed.
GMA
i usually call them rakes/rakers...i work for a commercial concrete contractor and drive the work van w trailer & crew onboard and don't know why people call them "come alongs"
how many
@CSX2665 It's a regional thing. Like how some people will call soda soda, some will call it pop. It's not right or wrong.
Your absolutely correct about the rakers behind the vibra strike..... rakers no good....no bueno lol.....15 year concrete laborer
You got that right.
They are awesome.
Are you having to use effort to keep the screed on top of the concrete or does it rest on top? I haven't used one of these without a screed pole.
Perfect
I seen a big pad poured once and they had just bull floated it and a cat ran out and run all the way from one end to the other lol it was like 30x 50 or something pretty big had to bull float it all again
I work for a concrete laying company and what this video is explains is all too familiar I enjoy seeing how smooth the concrete looks after the vibrating screed has gone over it
Where did you work for them?
Mike Day Everything About Concrete I work for c&c industrial out of rocky mount North Carolina...we go to Richmond Wilmington Raleigh etc...very good company to work for and definitely something different than the average 9-5
Awesome! Keep up the good work and thanks for watching the video!
Mike Day Everything About Concrete thanks...it sure is nice to contribute and see how buildings are made here in the states
What is the brand of your concrete vibrator?
What brand is your vibrascreed? I like the blade you are using, looks solid
Pls how can I buy this tool to Africa, Nigeria to be precise??
Hola. Soy. Albañil. Y. De. Vez. En. Cuando. Tiramos. Cemento Sólo. Que. No. Con. Esa. Belleza. De. Regla. Vibradora. Buen. Trabajo
As a “raker” this shits dope. As long as you know how to efficiently take.
Do you like to run the screed at full RPM’s, or do they fluctuate as you have different concrete slumps? I’ve used the vibrascred many times, but only with screed pipes. But I would definitely like to learn the wet screed method.
Slope and slump have a lot to do with rpms.
I want it!
Hello, does the power screed can also remove the bubbles inside the slab?
where can i buy this machine
I don't know how the hell that thing stores but I'm laughing at the the thought of seeing one of those strapped to a little Nissan truck going down the street :)
Mike I know this is an old video, but I've been watching a lot of your videos and have a question. If you're screeding a more narrow area, would you ever rest the ends of the screed on the forms if the screed board is longer than the area you're working. Would that still work ok?
Yeah that would work, it’s the same as using edge forms as grade with a regular screed
hi mike, is there a way to power screed the slab to be slanted a bit to create a fall?
Nope

What is the model of this concrete screed?
The whole purpose of screening is to get a flat surface. The rakers are important, but if you have high or low areas in the surface, it's due to poor screeding. That's what the screeder is for.
I screed with a rake so what
Very useful can I get this tool for myself please help where I can get

Do you use the Rattlestick in your concrete work.
I've never tried the Rattlestick. Maybe if they send me one I could make a video to show you guys how it works.
Can you use this on a sloped garage floor ?
We don't use this on garage floors that are sloped to a drain. Just my personal preference.

Hi mike, do you compact the concrete using concrete vibrator prior to screeding?
No we don't. The slump we pour doesn't need a vibrator.

The concrete is to wet
Can you run the vibrascreed on top of the form boards? If you were pouring a driveway for example
Matt Claus yes
Can but your pegs, what holds the form would have to be lower than the form
Cool if you showed how to fix it if you got too high or too low in a spot or 2. It's going to happen.
Go back over it with screed and rakers
Seems the concrete had too much water which would not allow it to be drug by the screed. It would also make the slab weak and prone to cracking. Would like to see a 4 or 5 slump worked with machine.
Shut up penis , can get high strength , high slump mix’s. Water reducing additives . This is a man trying to sound smart but knows fuck all

Superplasticizer
Price and wet
yip, you'd think it was a simple thing, but my god you wouldn't believe how many turkeys don't understand
how to leave the raking slightly higher so the screed has something to even out.
What was the slump? looks a lil wet
Steve - We try to pour around a 6 for a slump. We use water reducer in all our floor mixes to keep the water cement ratio low.
Mike Day Everything About Concrete looks like a 7.5 or 8
@@trentsmith2370 It is def. at least an 8. Twenty three years experience. In defense, if a "quality" six bag mix, with proper reducer ratios', are properly adjusted, then this floor will retain a quality tensile strength for at least 40 years.
It looks like there is a lot of water in concrete.........I have heard that too much water weakens the mix. Can you comment? Thanks for the video!
Yes when too much water is added it weaken, but the viberscreed brings up the cream from the concrete.
You can have the plant put in water reducer and pour high slumps without losing strength
@@baconneggs2406 Thanks
@@lucbarabe1830 Thanks
I know that this is interior concrete but slump has to be a 10 and less then 2000 psi.
He adds a plastizer admixture to the concrete, it increases slump without adding water. Just because it looks wet doesn’t mean it’s low PSI
Interesting, looks like about 120 slump yet the vibrating screed still stays on top of the concrete alright...
MrMayhem87 Could you please explain to me the term “slump” in concrete. What do you mean by concrete slump
@@braulioperales10 Search it in youtube- there are people who demonstrate it to death. It's how far down the cone falls when you pull the cone off the concrete mix. 0" < slump < 12" by definition, but 4in slump is a little dry, 6" slump is pretty wet. I think these guys must be using a water reducer to get liquidity like that.
I want one so bad. But good rakers and a normal screed would win everyday.
I dont have good rakers.
Hate to say you are wrong

It has water reducer in it, I doubt anyone that’s commenting knows what that is🤦🏼♂️
Why nobody subscribe
WAY TOO WET. unless your working in high 90's+ there is no need to pour an 8"+ slump., Screed waves and dips in super wet.
Pour it like piss 👍
Why do you pour so wet? Not criticizing but u have to be at a 6 minimum. I've seen a lot of comments regarding that subject. Just wondering..
8😊9
Thats a 100000% not going to be flat lmao
Slop!! Concrete isn’t worth shit now!
Concrete is too wet wouldn't pass australian standards.
High range water reducer is used on most our floors. Can pour a 7 and still pass here.
Plasticizers and water reducers do not affect the water to cement ratio, technically it is not wet, it is fluid.
Mike Day Everything About Concrete
WRDA or Delvo? You want 0.45 water cement ratio for slabs
Brian don’t embarrass our country and keep ya mouth shut
Water reducers
I’m pouring 40 mpa at 120 slump with accelerator comes like piss so
Easy to
Work
And screed 40 minutes later your breaking it . With pans .
@@MrDigger82 So you can have the plasticizer and the accelerator together? Nice. I like the sound of that. What about slowie for hot days...Can that be added with the water reducer?
