love the sponsor from Anker today, I've been using their charging cables and hand held battery packs for years (the hand held battery packs are awesome if you are at a convention to keep your phone charged). :)
I’m so ready for that super dope driveway project to be continued
I’m sure he’s tired of hearing it but I agree lol
Permits i heard he had a couple of neighbors that went to the city and he's gotta wait on somethings
I would put one plug outside just for convenience. Can never have too many outside outlets.
Just make sure you change the breaker over to a 15 amp since you're running everything off the same power supply
As soon as you aswitched to #14 wire your breaker has to be a 15 Amp cir breaker.
I was going to comment on this as an electrician myself.
Since the LED lights he’s installing will be no where close to a 15amp load wouldn’t the 14 gauge wire be sufficient for the switch legs?
A little advice from an electrician, leave a foot or so of extra wire “service loop” inside the wall at each box in the event that you have to move it in the future! Prevents a huge pain if you fond yourself in that situation!
This series has been great. I personally prefer the construction content as it has been my life for the past 20 years. Keep up the great work at the ranch.
You were like a pro doing your ad, I believed everything you said.
I only promote quality brands/products I actually use! 💪🏼
So impressed you are working with Anker. Definitely The best backup power source I wouldn’t ever be without! Great job Ryan ❤
I like those electrical boxes havnt used them before. Seems like a great idea
I've been shopping around for backup power since our electricity seems to go out more often these days.
I'm glad to see you showed us another option.
Hey rhino love this channel. I took your advice and just started filming the things I do. It's been tricky but I hope I'm getting the hang of it. My biggest thing is I forget to record a lot
Rad! Don’t worry, you’ll get better with time and it will start to feel natural!
@@DMAXRYNO I hope so I got some new cameras coming so I won't have to do it on my phone for long. I'm hoping having some tripods will help
Hey rhyno just some advice from an electrician atleast where i am romex is not allowed to be through conduit rather thhn is the allowed wire not gonna burn your house down but for heat from the wires its not allowable by code
Good to know! I’ll swap it out
Good catch....can't have a raceway inside of a raceway per NEC
@@DMAXRYNOjust use 12/2 UF cable
Next time consider doing California corners for drywall backing. It’ll be easier for running wires too
On a shed like that, we would typically just use 12-2 for everything. Saves from having to buy two rolls, one 250 foot roll is more than enough. Another tip is drill at least a 7/8 hole, makes pulling wires a lot easier. Lastly, make up the box with a pig tail and it will all fit nicely. Great work!
Also, you don't want to or shouldn't branch 14g off 12g unless the breaker is limited to 15a.
You know, this is one of my favorite channels, ever. I use to watch it for the truck projects, but with your personality and know how to talk to the camera lures me in and I probably speak for most. I commend you young man, you remind me of how I once was. Keep up the great vids bud...cheers
roofing contractor here , love the videos , as far as stucco , do the stucco first then , drip edge over stucco , glad you used 30lb paper instead of that other crap , should have laid out paper on 2 ply line (half way over lap ) , better protection and hides all staples , prefer galvanized round cap nails over staples , staples fail , and don’t nail paper down on rows, stagger your nailing pattern in the lines , that’s what they are there for , a bitumen torch down material would have been a better option , and cost less then a metal roof , let me know if you need any other tips or help , keep up the videos brotha 🤘🏻
That battery system caught my attention. I hate running generator when camping
The Anker AD was well done brother.
12/2 Romex is not permitted to be installed into conduit per NEC. Should have been 12/2 UF.
Noticed a a few other code NEC violations. Licensed electrician from Florida. Lol 😂
Regardless long time subscriber/follower, love the videos!
Yup, easy enough to swap out now before drywall lol
Haha, this is the comment I was anticipating. Doesn’t bother me but I’m a whack hack! I’d do it for myself but not for other people.
We bought 22 acres in Va and watching you build things and tackle projects on the ranch have inspired me to somewhat do the same, we now have a 24x40x14 building, built a loft in it ourselves did all the plumbing and wiring ourselves ran the waterlines from the water source to shop, cleared land/remove stumps for septic, we’ve saved over $20k so far just by doing stuff ourselves, land clearing was quoted $9500 alone my dad , my brother and myself got it done in 3 days(2 Saturdays and a Sunday)
Just a suggestion from experience, under a box you should consider a small double back of the wire so if you ever have to pull out box for expansion or any reason you have some slack. If the wire come up make a small loop and head down with like 4” then loop back up and head into box
I like that idea
Quick tip. Don't measure tar paper, roof paper, felt, or ice guard. Justpull a bit out on one side, tack it down a bunch, roll across the roof, line up the overlap line, tack the rest, roll back yourroll a bit and cut it, then onto next roll.
A roof that size could take less then 10 minutes
Love the videos! this is a cool project to follow along with. A couple things to note about the electrical tho. Not meant to come off as that guy, just trying to help you learn.
1) The 12-2 you ran in the conduit is not rated for wet location. Conduit buried is considered a wet location. 12-2 UF wire would be what you want to run. The grey wire.
2) You can not go from 12g wire to 14g wire for your lighting if the circuit is on a 20a breaker. the 14g wire can not be on a 20a breaker. if its on a 15a breaker then its fine but then the 12g wire to the outlets was pointless.
3) You are supposed to take the incoming power to a 20a switch for a disconnecting means to be able to disconnect all the power to the shed. From there you can feed everything else
Appreciate the advice! It is a 15 amp breaker
its amazing how much extra work you make for yourself!
We ruff all house with those cans now. They make brackets to install before drywall so the drywallers can cut and finish the holes
I’ll look the brackets up!
It's coming together beautifully 😍
I've been needing more storage outside for lawn equipment and such. Watching your videos has put me in the mood to build a new shed this spring. Thanks Ryan, and your modern, custom shed is coming along really nicely.
A little trick with resi electrical. If you absolutley know you only have 1 wire 1 hole is fine. Beyond that for a 1 gang box 2 holes. 2 gang box 3 holes...so on and so forth. Drilling a hole takes no time at all. Strugling with mutiple wires through 1 hole chews time like crazy. Seems counter productive but it works.
I appreciate all the real life events. I watch every video. Never bored. Plus your just a good dude! Keep it up!
That ad read was nice, you’re such a great spokesperson for products you endorse. Bonus points for being so transparent with products and the fact that you don’t endorse just anything when companies reach out.
I agree the company should hook him up with a little % bump and just run his video on RUclips just his description is amazing.
Another awesome shed build video.
Love the Friday videos🤙
Go with a jack drive garage door opener will save you with head clearance . And use UF cable to go underground. That romex will rot.
Don’t think I have the room
@@DMAXRYNO Super Sick project regardless. I Watch all your videos. Take care bro. And major respect on all levels …I’ve owned my ground up electrical business for the last 8 years in vegas.
I don’t get why people get mad about an ad. At least it was well done and fits the brand. Get your money!
For smaller channels like Ryno's I'll watch them, for big channels nah I'm good fast forward. 🤣
I bend the wires in the socket box like "S" shape and its like a spring, the wires fold right in real nice and clean !!!!
I agree with the other commented I’ve seen. Once you switch to 14 wire the breaker needs to be a 15amp breaker. #14 is only good for 15amp. More than that is a fire hazard and can melt the wire. Or swap all the 14 out for 12 wire
I love these videos man
Appreciate it!
As a lighting guy myself that layout is great 👍 especially considering this is a storage shed. Looking forward to seeing the finished product
Ryno you have a sponsor well done brother and its a amzing 1 can't want to get the cash to order mine ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for actually supporting me! Unfortunately some people get so butthurt that I’m trying to help pay for the content they consume for free. I’ve been on RUclips for 18 years and this is the second time I’ve had a “paid ad” but people lose their minds.
@@DMAXRYNO Since when you started paying for our electric and internet bills because I can tell you this content isn't free.
@DMAXRYNO I see what ya mean but it's not like ya advising games or shit it's a actually a useful product and iv said for a long time you should have some adds every one else does and no one moans at them like wtf is wrong with people. I reckon you should speak to atlas survival shelters and get sponsorship from them for a bunker would be nice lol for a bunk build series 😉 not sure u have the time to build a bunker tho 😂.get some more sponsorship going the real supporters won't mind and if they do they can skip it ❤❤❤
@@Mar10K0ng go to the library and enjoy me for free.
Romax through conduit in a wet location? Should have used thhn or uf
love the videos Ryno, thanks for making great content!
Shed is looking good man, I enjoyed watching the wire running portion, I am not an electrician by any means, it's my kryptonite. But I learned some stuff watching you run that, so thank you
you should put nailing plates at the corner so you don't accidentally run sheetrock screws into the romex
That’s the plan!
The halo “puck” flush mount are what I use for any light nowadays. They are 1/2” thick so you can hit a stud light that and don’t have to do anything it will fit around it! They look just like those or they have flush mounts but only 1/2” thick so they are amazing!
You made quick work on all that wiring. 👍
Maybe your next project should be a power backup or some sort of battery set up in case power is lost
You are talented Ryan. I always look forward to your videos!
Use a empty can of beans the size of the hole of the light and use it to get a perfect circle for stucco Once dry just remove it by bending it in wards
Appreciate you Ryan GOD BLESS YOU and all your amazing loved ones for all eternity 😊😊🙏👼😊
Our lord and savior Jesus Christ loves you and all your amazing loved ones unconditionally John 3:16 kjv 😊👼🙏♾️♾️
Thanks for the video
So lucky to be able to use more cost effective materials here in Fl that stuff won’t last 2years due to humidity. Looking great!
The things that I have learned from watching your videos are Priceless. Im happy for you to get a Sponsor You deserve it !!! I hope many more come your way.now how about an update on the Animals.
You could use the first box for a junction, then run a wire to the next stud bay for an outlet.
They do make metal roofing that looks like shingles. No clue the cost compared to regular metal panels. They weren't available the last time I did a roof 10 years ago.
hit the lights with some SEM trim black and call it a day, it'll look good.
I just installed those same lights last week for one of my customers. I put them in the soffit as well and they look killer. They are actually super bright for a 4 inch. Run both wires through a single knockout so its easier to push back up in that hole. If you go in one side and out the other it can be a pain if you don't have a lot of extra wire.
Rad!
Looks like another shed project will cover the new generator. Nice!
There is a box fill calculation for those boxes and different size single gang boxes. I always get the 22 cu. In. Single grange because they are the biggest and only pennys more than the smaller size ones. I’m also not an electrician, but enjoy doing my own electrical.
Good video again ryno, thanks
Nice Shed,,, A+ work as usual !!!! And Great Power Supply, I'm going to look into one of them ... .. .
Keep doing what you do ryno 💯💯 always watching
Let's goooo ryno hope you are well bro ❤
Great video 🎉
😎👍 sick.
Reminder to put in Garage door sensor and button cables.
Hell yea Ryno!!!
Rhino. I’m sure you know that what you were about to put on the roof was stucco paper? Glad you grabbed the right stuff
Finish the roof first always so it can shift before drywall gets installed you want the weight on there
You can't run NM underground through that pipe but.... it will be fine. Just thought I'd throw it out there. this storage shed is turning out pretty sweet man!
Use 4x4 steel boxes and mud rings gives you more room than those plastic boxes
Same with soffit use metal mudding for stucco. I would go bigger than 4" to 4 5/8".
@@billsilva7932 if he’s using the remodel cans no box needed I was referring to the outlets and switches.
You should use one of those sliding garage doors kinda like how the retractable tonneau cover on truck beds
Love you videos bro keep me up ❤
Hey man awesome video as always! I am actually glad to see you doing some paid ads, I was really well put together and you deserve the extra cash! If people don’t like it they can get RUclips premium and fast forward. Keep it hustling!
Nice vid!
Thanks!
You can also stucco soffit and then do a hardi facia
Should you put some plugs on the exterior walls? For battery chargers or extension cords
Ryno is one of the very few people who can make videos about building stuff interesting appreciate that
In my opinion. Aluminum soffit, and fascia would be easier than stucco, and probably look more ascetically pleasing to the eye. Just throwing that out there. And you could do any color without painting.
In Utah roof is done first then stucco is usually one of the last steps
Plenty of places to cut costs for a project like this, but I feel like electrical is not one of them, especially when it's tied into the house. Add to that the fact that I'm relatively sure both the State and your insurance company would take issue with unlicensed electrical work. If, god forbid, anything was to happen there is public video showing the unlicensed work and that would make it very easy for an insurance company to deny a claim. Just putting some experience out there as someone who has done regulatory enforcement before and dealt personally with homeowner's insurance claims.
Poor Ole Willie, trying is his absolute best to keep up with the rest of the donkeys at 29:05
If adding a 2x4 gave you enough to center the outlet then moving the opposite box to the other side of that stud would have done exactly the same thing lol
Good catch spacing your outlets evenly. Going to leave an outlet near the top of your door for a potential wall mount opener? I'll never go back to traditional openers.
FriYAY gang
Do a roll up door like at a auto shop be more space saving or just do pull out doors that swing out they look better probably just a thought 😊
Ryno is a great sells man! He can sell water to a drowning man.
I’m hoping the gate project gets an update soon
You need to make a shirt design with abel on it without him knowing & then hook him up with a cut of sales. Dude seems to be your silent helper thats a hell of a good worker.
Use 2 gang boxes when you have a lot of wires and a socket,,, the outside box becomes the junction and the inner on the stud for the receptacle, I guess you'll figure that out in a minute... .. .
I’m watching the video. I sure hope you put a Man door, don’t miss out, quick reframe
Just an idea, but why not use some of those corner lights inside the shed like you used in the dump trailer? It may solve getting the lighting inside with the garage door open
Stucco then the metal drip edge.
Hey Ryan, how is the weather in your part of socal? In the IE, it sucks especially at night.
W ad honestly
Hahaha drywall guys filling the gang boxes with mud!
Ryan, have you completed that restaurant project in downtown San Diego?
Negative. Still waiting on final engineering and permits
well you were doing the lights ,I was thinking flashing like your trucks ,lol
Facia board should have been 2x8
Staple plastics up there then you can just take razor blade, Maybe? We don’t have much stucco up north in NY
I curious if videos have or do help you with punchline type items? Have you ever been editing and find something you missed in person?
How about one under the bench for the outside so you have power outside gfci that is for outside !
