    Man, I tell ya what guys: Any 1st gen Tundra owner who buys & installs this kit themselves after learning how to do it here, should not only donate enough to "buy you a beer".........they should donate enough to buy 4 ribeye steaks and a whole case of beer, lol. Great work. Interesting to see how similar Toyotas of similar ages are. I have the handbrake cables running along the springs and the same proportioning valve (plus plenty else). The hardest step here seemed to be the lower shock mounts. The rest seemed to be plug and play (mostly). I enjoyed this like your other vids. I'll never do this mod, but it helps to understand my Toyota so big thanks and well done!

      It might seem plug and play because of the video we made for people to use, but it was anything but straightforward. Just getting the bed off and figuring out what to settle it down on took some figuring out. This took us 2 days to complete, and it was the nost involved suspension lift Sean and I have installed.
      I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Wrenching!

    • @TimmyTheToolman
      @TimmyTheToolman  7 месяцев назад +3

      Moving them above the axle would severely limit the amount of suspension travel. I'm guessing your comment comes from the shock mount hanging down low and being able to strike rocks while 4wheeling.

      @RyaMarshall You are right to think the shock mount could take a hit from a rock, but the shock mounts are close to the wheels and they are less likely to take a rock strike compared to the low hanging pumpkin of the rear axle. If you're 4wheeling correctly, you have your tires traveling over the top of obstacles so your rear axle isn't slamming into them. I hope that makes sense. Do shock mounts sometimes take hits? Yes, they do, and it's why some companies sell protective plaea that bolt on to protect the lower part of the shock.

If I'm not mistaken, "lift" is a body-on-frame term, that only raises the body up off the frame more, to clear bigger tires. When running over high sand dunes, whoopty-do's, and other jumps.........it's increased suspension travel that ya need.
