This looks a lot more interesting than Centurion, and is kind of ridiculous how three structure decks cost about the same of a single copy of some of the cards in the Centurion deck.
You missed a pretty big part of the endboard which was shown in MBT's vid, Amblowhale. Even without the support from PHNI this deck is more than capable of having a good board going first since most of your interactions come from your hand or gy. I think it's obvious that the deck will get significantly better after PHNI, but right now this deck can easily beat any deck in the current format.
@@JoshuaSchmidtYGO Yea it def needs Fire Princess for it to see the play. That being said, its only worth going for if you use Hilda > summon opp ash blossom > fire princess etc etc. Is it wierd I genuinely prefer a more control/grindy version of the deck compared to the comboish way the ocg is piloting it? Like I use the Diabellistar engine ofc to get access to Ponix faster, but im not a big fan of the snake eyes engine, mainly cause to my knowledge you play into Nibiru + other handtraps and it has a tougher time going 2nd + running 2 brick-ish cards. I feel like relying more on Avrata control to be able to block handtraps, (outside of imperm) and then grind on the opponents turn is the way to go in the tcg. One big difference between the ocg and the tcg to note is that you can run Prosperity at 3 in the tcg, but Extrav works too if on budget.
@@joeqiao1691 I saw and in another comment chain I was talking about double playmakers with queen + field spell vs avarata control. Out of Queen, Avarata, and Snake Eyes I prefer to focus on Avarata as my normal summon, but all 3 are really good and each has their merits for play. That being said I dont think Snake Eyes is unfair or getting hit, in fact see my previous comment pointing out on its weaknesses
I think thats a fair assesment. Honestly a budget deck BEING tier 2-3 and able to take wins off Unchained, purrely and the like is good enough for me when i plan to build a deck for like 50-80€
It's solid off of the box. Just needs the new support to push it. It's a good SD with good staples too and stuff for Edison. Also. Lovin the Digimon World 3 OST being played.
Even though from all the info we get from the OCG it's always archetyped as FIRE KINGS being the deck to beat but I'd argue that's a little misleading. Post Phantom Nightmare the deck should be archetyped as a 'Sinful Spoils Snake-Eye DECK' with a 'Fire King ENGINE' just because of how good Populus is. Populus supported with Bonfire, Snake-Eye Ash+Flamberge, the Sinful Spoils package, plus Promethean Princess and you have the perfect recipe of cards to carry and glue any level 1 fire strategy together. The new Fire King cards, specifically Ponix, just happens to be the perfect candidate to abuse this being a very low risk commitment in cards providing a medium-high reward of advantage+follow up. However if Ponix was literally just a LEVEL 2, Fire Kings and this Structure Deck wouldn't be on anybody's radar to worry about.
Don't agree necessarily. The deck should be called snake eyes fire king for sure. the fire king engine has a big presence in the deck because of how strong it makes the grind game and the going second ability of the deck to be. 1/3 of your deck is fire king cards, about 1/4 is snake eyes cards and you splash 4 diabellestarr cards in there for more starters/extenders, rest is non-engine.
Honestly this deck might make me reconsider playing Yugioh IRL again. I fell out of love with the game right around Link era and have been enjoying it on and off again since master duel. But I never truly found an in-road into the game where I could actually test something out for a decent budget. I think the ceiling is low, the testing is allowed, Ive heard also talk about Dogmatika but if I enjoy the Deck I have an "upgrade path" for Sinful Spoils Stuff which I also think look awesome. And from what I read around different comment sections is also that I am not alone and this Deck might "onroad" some more old players which other Structure Decks didnt do.
I feel like there were a lot of combos and play that Josh missed, especially being unlucky and going 2nd. I think it's funny how we got completely different POVs from MBT and Josh on this version of the deck's performance.
Win-con of the deck is kinda non-threatening rn, but it's ability to play thru boards is actually really nice. Which is why you see it doing well at MBT's side but not rated very highly by Josh because Josh wants to win YCS'es and he values a deck that can just win when it does it's stuff a lot more than MBT
Tri Brigade engine is a lot more consistent than Dogmatika I've found. You're counting on drawing Nadir Servant and introducing 2 bricks to the deck, whereas Tenki makes it 6 copies of full combo
Nib is not that strong versus the deck, you still got 2 interruptions from the GY/hand after it. Also like, arvata is a card Like, "I stopped their 1 card combo with nib and they only got two interactions and tons of followup" is not the win you're claiming it is, especially when ash blossom on snake eyes ash completely stops the 1 card combo and droll on the populus search is S:P pass at best regardless of the rest of your hand
Im a bit iffy on it considering its just another Fire King Island, and a majority of ocg lists run it at 2 + 2 of the continous spell, which I think is the perfect ratios. Not to mention to get the grave effect off you need to run the OG high garunix, which most lists dont run. The biggest issue though is that its most likely going to use your normal summon, which means no snake eyes engine or simply just no "normal summon Avrata and control." So if it gets negated you could just be left with nothing.
you are mixing up 2 things. Sure his pop effect could be better, but the main reason is his his first eff. Normaly you normal poxi get your continues spell which activate field spell. No you use the eff and you get ashed? you do nothing. Now imagine you normal your queen. they didnt ash it, you destroy 1 fire monster and either add poxi or scared garunix. So 1 of them you can ss from hand. and get full combo. So basicly they need to ash the queen or you get full combo. if you start you play with field spell and ash that you also have full combo if you normal queen. so bassicly you have another way to search for garunix. And if you just normal arvatar to protect your from ash, you need to destroy 1 fire monster so there is no diff instead queen can search you any ingane card and could also search tri-brigarde monster, if you want to play this version as well.

You also mention that there is no difference between Queen + Field Spell vs Avarata + Field Spell; there actually is a difference in end boards. If queen gets negated but the field spell goes through, you have at minimum 2 lv 8s...or Ponix + OG Garunix (depending on if you had the continous spell or not) aka either a dark hole or multi pop on your opponents turn. If you use Avarata to block an ash, you end up with Avarata + Sacred Phoenix, which you basically have 1 monster negate. I would say both are really good endboards (if you consider Avaratas and Sacred Phoenix floatability), but one thing I really like about Avarata as well is that it plays into 2 handtraps.
