turned off my ad block whilst watching this so i can support you queen!!! 👏🏻👑💖 i’m so GLAD you mentioned screen bars, i used to get a bunch of companies asking me to promote their screen bars and they’re just a waste of money 😭😭 i loved hearing about the logitech keebs + events, it’s so interesting to hear about how logi is working to make sure ergonomics are designed into their products!!! 💕

Your comment about the MacBook air and the MacBook Pro is one me and my husband have had. A pro is going to be better for people who do coding and possibly video editing it is more powerful, but the air is better for smaller processing power (i.e. being on the internet). Great video and very good input. 😊😀

I have the screen bar from xiaomi. I use it at night only since i work in US time zone (i live in Australia) and honestly it bothers me when my boyfriend comes to my office and turns the main light on.
So for me, the screen bar is amazing. I also turn on my lights from behind my monitor and under my desk to help.
They are a win for me 😅

For ergonomic mechanical keyboards, perhaps you might want to check out some of these: keychron k11, akko acr pro alice, keychron q11. And if you want the best experience and don't mind doing some DIY, get a custom keyboard. I own 2 ergonomic custom keyboards and it's great to have a keyboard exactly the way I like it as someone who spends most of my day typing.

oo so interesting! thanks for sharing, i actually ended up cutting this part out cos i felt like i was talking for too long about it but i actually think the problem is also that im too small for this chair, so the support didnt sit right for my body. maybe youre taller so it works better for you! they should do diff sizes in this chair and itd probably be more comfy for me!

  • @Lunaa33

I personally recommend getting a Herman Miller chair. It’s masterfully designed around ergonomics and posture, creating a chair meant for long hours and supporting your body. Gaming chairs look cool and aesthetics do matter, but I’d argue the chair is the only thing in an office/desk setup that should definitely cater to comfort/function over looks.

Oh and also! I got the RT100 epomaker ergonomic keyboard in pink with sea salt silent switches. It's my first ever (and most likely last) mechanical keyboard and I adore it! It's soundless, pretty, ergonomic and affordable imo. It's also hot swappable, whatever that means in keyboardland and with the silent switches I don't feel like you need to mod it... Not that I even know how to mod a keyboard!
Give it a try. It's also wireless, Bluetooth, and has a small screen that I honestly don't use because 1) it resets itself every time I turn the keyboard back on 2) you can only set it up while the keyboard is wired + dev software 3) can't put the cover on top to protect it from dust because of the screen 🙄
Overall, been using it for a whole month and I love it.
I also have the Logitech MX mini in pink, and got the Casa Pop Up because of you and I love the whole set! Thanks for that rec!
I think 3 keyboards for me is the max. I don't need to collect them lol 😅

Thank you for the video! 💗I'm glad you mentioned your monitor because I was actually looking to buy a bigger, wider and curve monitor as I have 27" flat gaming screen already, I thought I would need it cause I already use 2 screens for work so I thought why not combine them into 1 haha!
In the end I ended up with 27" curve gaming screen (haha couldn't get away from the 27" I guess 😝) but wow, curve screen hurts my eyes so much when working haha, but for gaming it's fantastic so I'm like 50/50 on what to do right now, if I should stay with the curve one or get a newer flat but bigger screen.

agreed on gaming/ mechanical keyboards. tried Nuphy, Roccat, Keychron etc. Did a small bit of C# programming, I realize the best for me was flat chiclet style, like your logitech casa (love that it comes with a touchpad!), apple magic keyboards. Least typing errors experience on these. Wish I'd known sooner before spending well over a grand on keyboards.
That wave logitech looks cool and also saw on their website the logitech Ergo. Very tempted 😭

  • @echung168

I think part of the reason that Logitech is a good brand of keyboards is cause their target market isn't for gamers. Of course, you can use them for gaming but they aren't targeting them. They are great keyboards. Great builds, great thoughts put into them. Logitech truly cares about comfort and not aesthetic. Though, lately they have been pretty heavy in the aesthetics department. Though I love my MelGeek keyboard, so pleasing and so quiet. I don't think it's that loud compared to a lot of brands that market themselves to gamers. I love my HIgrounds, but I just think their Function key setup is just odd.

Great video. This is my first time watching you. I’ve been looking at the large displays for my husband and I appreciate your input. When it comes to MacBooks though the pro models where made for those that have heavy files and work loads that are more than the every day user. My husband and sons all own pros. My youngest being a content creator himself. However even then you have to make sure you have the right specs to carry your workload . I however am more of an everyday user and have owned both Mac’s. For someone like me my favorite Mac to use is the 15 inch MacBook Air with upgraded RAM and SSD, this has been my favorite computer so far.
I just had to put that out there.

I love this video and it’s very helpful 😍 I am a bit confused about the Divoom speakers though, because I bought mine several years ago and I can have it on non stop for multiple hours and I use it almost every day.
You said that sometimes you charge it for 9-10 hours and I’m thinking maybe that’s the issue? It usually only takes me a little over an hour to fully charge mine when it’s almost dead and I always take mine off the charger before it hits full battery or right when I see it’s fully charged. You can check the charge level by quickly tapping the power button while it’s charging.
I think they’re like IPhones, where if you leave it on the charger when it’s fully charged it can actually lower the battery capacity if that makes sense. That’s why people recommend not to charge electronic devices all the way because it lowers the battery capacity.
Just wanted to say that may be the issue? 💖 but idk if these issues started right when you got them or not 🥺

      @agenomicsphd  6 месяцев назад

aw thank you! so glad to hear that! thats so interesting that yours is great! i actually noticed the problems after not charging them for like a week cos i was on holiday, but it could be over charging? i remember the battery always being awful but not this bad, so thats a good point for everyone else who gets one new! dont overcharge! haha thank you 🩷

I've had issues with my razer kraken kittys too (as well as the regular chroma ones) and that is they keep disconnecting then connecting back up randomly, especially when gaming (which is supposedly the point lol) - I've researched this and apparently it's a power issue, but my entire setup is razer chroma stuff and the headphones are the only ones that have failed me multiple times. I have now unfortunately stored them for "later" and went back to my regular razer green headphones (the cheapest ones with the headphone jack and no lights) and use the kraken kitty bt for my mac, phone, whatever
    anyone else had this issue?

Hmm, have you taken your Macbook Air to the Apple store? It doesn't sound normal for it to crash that often, especially if it's the M1 version. I run a ton of memory heavy apps and developer tools on mine as well, and it is working perfectly fine.

  • @nusa.pavlic

Oh MAN do I have opinions on this topic!
    - I've had a gaming chair (not Razer, but. another that's supposed to be great quality - Ergoles Rebel) and I've decided that gaming chairs just aren't for me. The actual shape just was not for me because you're forced into a single specific position and I fidget way too much for that. Another thing that was annoying is that because the top of the chair is arched forward, I was not able to wear a ponytail because then it would either hurt or I'd have to hunch forward. I have a "normal" mesh ergonomic office chair now.
    - Mechanic keyboards - I had an Epomaker keyboard and the keys were SO sensitive, even on the lowest setting, I always ended up typing likkeee ttthissss lol. I now also have a Logitech keyboard and I love it!
    - My screenbar is my favorite thing about my setup. I had a curved monitor for a brief time and the screen bar didnt fit on it, so that was a dealbraker and I changed my monitor again because of it lol.
    - MacBook Air - SAME. had it for less than a year and recently upgraded to the Pro 16". My Air was crashing and freezing DAILY. I'm also a heavy user so it makes sense, but that was just really bizarre, it couldn't even handle Google Sheets well.
    - On topic of monitors, I recently changed 3 monitors so I wanted to flag something that I did not know before: Only two Dell Monitor Series (the Ultrasharp series and another that I can't remember) are compatible with MacBooks. The others flicker and flash vertical lines no matter the cable and after a loooooot of browsing, I finally realised that they are just not compatible with my 3500 eur macbook lol.
    - One of my biggest regrets is the Logitech Lift mouse. After 2 days of use, it gave me a tennis elbow and to this day, a year later, my elbow is not completely fine. A super bizarre experience but I'm super happy with my MX Master now!

My opinion on the Razer headsets is I find the sound to be quite muffled and the mics sound like a walkie talkie, I had the Razer Nari for about 5 minutes they were awful, I ended up getting the HyperX cloud 2 and love them, but I upgraded to the Steelseries arctis wireless and just having no wires is amazing and the sonar software is amazing its like having a goxlr that I have programmed onto my streamdeck, I also got a rode mic because headset mics just don't sound great or seem to pick up my voice very well.

Agreeing so damn bad on the Divoom speakers. I regret purchasing mine. They’re pricey and would have to agree that the battery incredibly sucks. It may be aesthetic, but that’s it. People, save your money for better speakers. Pretty sure there are better ones out there that’s top quality in music, battery, and performance.

I feel like a lot of this is very preference, when it comes to gaming chairs I would recommend them much more to someone shorter. I am very short and gaming chairs are the only ones that feel comfortable at all, because of where the arms rest. I do prefer ones with the removable back support tho, and the slight stiffness of the chair is meant so u have better posture for long periods. With mechanical keyboards again very very preference, with the sheer amount of new keyboards coming out I don’t think it’s very fair not to recommend them when each one is entirely different. As for the razer headphones it seemed to purely be a software driver issue, a lot of people did not update their drivers and razer disables the sound if you don’t update it, so it does not ruin your computer drivers as a precaution. Been using the razer ones for almost a year, and they also seem to not have any issues at all with newer pcs.

This video goes to show that just because something looks good doesn't necessarily mean that it is practical or functional or is good at what it is meant to do.

I think that you're doing keyboards wrong, tho... If you do it right, it's not just gonna be quiet; there'll be absolutely NO SOUND at all... It would help if you looked into it more closely. I DO LOVE your other recommendations, tho. Cheers, mate.

I can't understand screen bars. I'd rather have some light behind my monitor against the wall. And I don't want something hanging off the top of my screen.

Just got a base model macbook air m1 2020 and i love it BUT i do have an external super fast and expensive SSD with 1TB
ive had almost 2 thousand dollar notebooks from dell that still get way hotter, louder and its heavier than this macbook - some of them BARELY outperform this macbook
i think if you've ever had a shitty windows notebook (even the expensive ones suck, and ive had so many of them), then the macbook air m1 and upwards will seem like a crazy good mf experience
i still think iPads and iPhones are overrated and overpriced (even though i have them both), but the macbook air with the m1 chip is just crazy good value rn

I like Logitech keyboards but I don’t like that I have to buy batteries for them. Logitech, let’s do USB-C chargers, please!

My $200 Respawn gaming chair never stained, but I wish there’s more cushion. Think Razer’s just overpriced
As for mechanical keyboard, get a keyboard that supports QMK/VIA. My Keychron K6 mechanical keyboard has Keychron Red Pro, which is a linear, and not as loud as Blue clicky keyboards. And the Keychron Red feels better than Cherry Red, IMO. I think Keychron also has ergonomic keyboards, IIRC.
And I can’t go back to non-mechanical. I even buy my own for work.
And what happened to your monitors from Apple? I remember you were using them, then switched back to ultrawide

yea razer is overpriced and their customer support is trash. I recently switch from Corsair kb&m and headset to all Logitech G Pro X line and love it.

You really can’t go wrong with something from keychron or Nuphy if you need comparability with all devices and I’d start here for like 90% of people interested in mechanical keyboards. They’re not truly ergonomic. But if you care about ergonomics the best advice is to train yourself to type with proper posture. This means not wresting your wrists in a wrist wrest ir table. Instead floating them over the keyboard. But both companies also sell wrist wrests.
