We don't even have inflatable camping mattresses or use a bag or a pump, but we still watched this video throughout as you are so engaging and fun to watch🤗👍. Thank you for the info, but mostly for the laughs, the totch had us in stitches🤣🤣. Glad to see you are well. Take care, Shell and Pete
In my Arnold voice....we are here to pump....you up! Over the weekend, we used a similar pump to inflate three separate pads and it worked great. I think that it's all about how far you have to carry it. If it is a short hike, then this is totally worth it to bring. For longer hikes, I think I would go old school and just pump it myself...like I am used to. That light is SUPERIOR!
😀 I get a real kick out of the missteps of companies too. I'm not sure how these mistakes are made with today's technology in translation. It's entertaining.
I have the Flextailgear Tiny Pump, and I take it on some trips, when I need to keep things simper. It also has a functioning totch. It's 98g with all the attachments and the sack it comes in, so if the fam is coming with, and I anticipate not wanting to deal with pump sacks, I'll take it. Fun video, Tim! 😂
I’ve got the Flextail Gear tiny pump and I love it and it goes on every trip. It’s smaller than the one you’ve got, the light makes it multi purpose and it is awesome for a pesky fire that doesn’t want to get going and needs air (which I don’t want to provide)
@@bcamping1 I do throw a couple breathes in at the end just to firm it up. The Tensor is easy to take a little air out so I prefer to get it firmed up then adjust at sleep time
Man their marketing department has some work to do! "Simper" "Totch"!! Good stuff. Fun review Mr. Tim! Rugged Mountain Sister uses the Flextail Pump because she is usually blowing up 3 pads at a time and its less physical labor than even getting air into a pump sack!
Gotta love the translation ability of the marketers! LOL Torch maybe! LOL Your review trumps the product all together!! Loved it...just remember to keep it PG...and enough with the "blow, suck"! Enjoy the new digs...Bruce and Otis
Hi! Good morning Tim and thanks for a super fun and informative video, I was feeling a little deflated before this, but can confirm you have pit the wind in my sails, so we would say that you, Tim beat the pump and sack, you are without doubt the planets best clean Air source! Great to get a video notification and glad you are well, catch you soon, Ceri and Kat ☕ ❤ 👍 🧭 😀
Oh you already got a camper, congratulations, I didn't know... and here I was talking about someone having a camper for sale, LOL, you don't even need one anymore. This one looks really nice. I loved the Alf... I was a huge Alf fan. I love the pump sack...however, I ruined the valve on mine and had to glue it back in place... not sure what I was doing. Interesting to see the mini pump too, yes, I will use my sack for now, LOL.
The 6th feature must be too awesome to put in the instructions, kind of like those add to cart for price deals..lol...I do think the toch was pretty awesome though. Great review Tim, and nice camper to brother!! I hope you are having a great week!!
I got it, the 6th function! You hook up your Ti-Cobb to the intake side and get ready to inhale on the output side. Buckley I'm surprised you didn't figure it out, 😆
I have the original Thermarest pump and I will not go without it anymore. I'm not UL normally but close because I take the pump and a chair when I tent. If backpacking a lot of miles its so great not blowing up the pad and if a fire is needed the pump it awesome.
I have a pump like that just not that brand. I like it and found that the flexible port option works well for me. 6th step is for swass stick it down there and BAM it's gone. I see some near zero gear in the background I have been looking at them. Keep it up
Congrats on camper home! Ur living my goal!! I wanna buy a Casita or something similar to pull behind while I travel as a RN/paramedic. Get paid to see the country & maybe the world lol. That thing is a tad noisy but seemed to work well. Good review! Also very good to see u doing well. Keep ur head up & heart open!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley ur welcome. Sometimes life throws hands but it's easier to take a hit & fight back with friends in ur corner! We all need that sometimes!
This video hahaha! The problem I've had with my sack is I blow a lot more moisture into the pad. I tried Terry Young's pump and I still think I prefer the sack.
I was just thinking this morning that I hadn't seen anything from you in almost two weeks. Good to hear from you. Regarding the bologna: I can get that at the deli. It's good on rye with some brown mustard (horseradish is my favorite)... Seriously, though, that little doodad is probably just the thing for a budding backpacker who doesn't travel too far from the road and sets up a basecamp to explore from. My hiking takes me more miles than I am comfortable with, so I try to keep the weight down, and, if I slept on the ground on a regular basis, I would carry a pump sack. I actually had a Stephenson Warmlite down filled air mattresses and triple down bag in the 1980s that came with a pump sack. The sack had a very light coating which eventually became porous and I had to replace it with a much heavier one. Warmlite is a Colorado based company now. It used to be out of New Hampshire. I'm heading to the southern Appalachian Mountains to finish the AT in a week. I know that I will appreciate my hammock on warm, muggy nights, and I get all the light I need from my Nitecore NU 23 headlamp. Some day I might decide that I need a toch (pronounced tawch here). Then I might take a look at some electronic bologna. Thanks! 😁
Good gear testing! I have a bag to blow up my matrass and since it's a waterproof bag, I also use it to stuff my sleeping bag and warm clothes for the night! Always love dubbel use things... 😁 I hope you're OK in your camper... All the best, Kaat
I am a sack guy. Although I have to say the older I get the lower the usefulness of my sack becomes. Sometimes at camp I trip over it. It used to have a firmness to it but now tends to sag a bit.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out” Love it ! Family is the best. 😂. I’m gonna have to Google a “ totch “ cuz I got no idea what the hell that is….. a blue light ? OK ? This Bologna thing is a bunch of bologna if you ask me, especially for an ultra light hiker such as yourself. But a good review nonetheless. Never tried a bag to blow up my Thermarest Pad, just used good old lung power cuz I like the head rush.
Great review as always, I bet the fire part would pair well with a pocket bellows so you could stay further away from the fire. I could see bringing it for winter camping or more low mileage outings. One downside would be if you have a leak and are camping with others I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate hearing a pump being used in the middle of the night.
I have the high dollar thermarest blower, it sucks!! I use it but I don't like it. I like condensation inside my pad less though. The sacks work unless made by the same said company. They are like trying to use a pillow case. Take how you will. Happy Trails 👣 Good to see your face my friend.
6-in-1, but 5 features listed? Simper, totch? Possible language barrier issues. LOL, still funny. Plus your humor made it better. Pump sack can be a bit of work, but would probably be less likely to fail (and less work than using your lungs). I like using an electric pump (it came with my Thermarest pad) to inflate while I putter doing something else. My pump is just a pump. Doesn't suck. :-( Doesn't have a light (personally, I don't care about the light)
Nice review buddy, I think I’m still team pump sac, like you said, they don’t break down and it only takes about 6 bags of air (if I remember correctly) to fill my tensor, so it’s done in no time!
What timing! Just last week I bought the Giga Pump 2.0 for my Haven and it weighs just 2.8 ounces. I think 2.8 ounces is well worth it to save me 30 minutes of blowing up that mattress. Plus it also is reversible to suck the air out which is very helpful for repacking.
I think I will go with the mouth or the bag. I never tried the bag. What I know is when I stop at night for wild camping,i don't want the noise of a pump to attract attention.

@@triatheletewolf7279 There's a joke here, somewhere.
Im happy with my tiny pump.
But it does blow a littlebit warmer air into the mat than a pumpbag would so it will shrink when it cools down.
