That lighter and its insert aren't even 20 years old. Zippo date stamps them.
The outer shell by itself would be a fun project , but nothing else is even close to the investment of time inferred by this "restoration".

this is a fake, the insert is stamped December 2003 and doesn't have the correct riveting, flint tube brass spout height and cam for its era and the case is made in 2004.... this is not a 40 year old zippo, not even at the age to be technically called vintage yet either, most likely a commemorative design model that was probably made to look old for video purposes
