This should've been the building block for their "dark universe" and put a very modern take on their horror classics. Dracula could've been changed to something closer to a serial killer story about a detective going after a "night stalker" type guy who is harvesting peoples blood. The Frankenstein story could've been about a modern day cosmetic surgeon who yearns for surgical perfection and the obsession with extending life or defying death maybe after the tragedy of their dead loved one. The Mummy could've been about a religious family moving into a new community only to find out a Jim Jones type cult is trying to bring the deceased back to life with sacrificial rituals. Jekyll and Hyde could be done in a whole manner of ways the obvious being that it touches on the subject of split personality, schizophrenia or dysphoria maybe a new wellness centre wants to trial a new drug on a patient that suffers with mental health issues and insomnia, the patient shows a drastic improvement but suddenly cases of disappearances have increased in the area at night. I think Universal really squandered an opportunity here to take their classic monster and put a more grounded psychological twist on them for modern audiences.
This was supposed to be apart of the dark universe. Remember that folks. This was supposed to stand next to the mummy, dracula, Frankenstein, dr.jekyl and mr.hyde. and then.... obsessive abusive lifetime EX boyfriend that cant really do anything. The one thing that made the 1933 movie kinda better was how it showed what being invisible could have on his mentality. I mean the dude derailed a train for god sakes, he caused mayhem. This dude just stalked his girlfriend
Hollow Man was a better modern adaption of The Invisible Man. This isn't a bad film but it really is in name only as it has nothing to do with the original story aside from the villain being invisible...
What makes this invisible man more menacing though is that his motives are purely personal and it has more of an impact showing the horror that she is facing rather than some dude going on a full rampage
I declare this movie to be a return-to-form for Universal Monsters (The Invisible Man is more of a psychological monster). Her chance of having to end the plagues is to destroy the mummy before the 10th plague: the death of every first-born child.
My pitch is better: Scientists uncover a mysterious Peruvian mummy but in the middle of scientific research the mummy comes back to life for a quick moment and infects the scientists with incurable virus, the research centre gets shut down blocking all exists leaving their staff to fend off the infected

This movie was terrible. Bad acting and specially, bad script. No sense at all in anything what she does and the results she obtains, the same goes for the "invisible guy", he supposes to be smart and his actions are absolutely stup1d... This movie tried to apply science and technology and everything it does is completely out of logic. This scene where she cut her vein and just a little drop of blood comes out of her??? Are you kidding? I know is a movie, but it should have some logic in it. If you cut your vein vertically, you are going to bleed pretty much and quick, that's the logic behind why he tried to stop her. Then, they act like she didn't even try to cut her vein, no blood, no losing strength, nothing happens to her after doing it.
Funny how universal turns off the comment section of their horrible movies and not these. If they cannot handle criticism they're in the wrong business
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 But that's the hidden message, isn't it. We know how illogical the movie got by the end for the sake of its message. Don't include "why" and "female" everytime someone mentions "feminism". I only hate the second one, not females or women or any other particular gender. (My fav movies are Kill Bill and Gone Girl)
@Aces yeah and im white. doesnt mean im stupid and cant see the bias within the system. seems you are the true jackass to not realize how much minorities got shit on in cinema for a very very long time. decades upon decades. only recently have non whites gained any recognition. it makes an incredible difference and its perfectly obvious to anyone who understands and studied history how much whites dominated and still dominate.
I didn't watch this movie but if I could be invisible stalking an ex girlfriend or ex wife wouldn't be on my list. I don't know if thats what this movie was about I'm just assuming it is by the trailer and movie clips I saw. What a waste, the potential of an invisible man movie is so high.
It was still very well made I’d have to say, as for the plot point you talked about, it’s more about the context. The man built the suit to be invisible but uses it to torture this woman as he’s a psycho, I believe the film explains that he made it for military use originally but is so cruel that he torments her instead
@@jarrodbock2617 ok so it would've been a better movie if he did some covert military type stuff instead torture a woman. I'm just saying. The one with Kevin Bacon had almost the same plot.
@@sliqvic Hollow Man was a better adaption in my opinion as the original story was about the scientist going mad with power and being unable to reverse it. This film isn't bad but it is only connected to the original story (or 1933 movie) by having an invisible antagonist.
the best take on a classic horror story. I am really glad they didn't try to make it into a remake and took the idea of technology and modern approach

Lol I guess
LoL, its fckn comedy! Really, that's situation look like a Skyrim gameplay.
ฉากสยองยุคใหม่นำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้งานได้ดีมากครับ 😊🎉
I liked the movie but this scene feels a little too goofy and out of place

I believe it's on HBO Max rn.
this movie was dumb
All she does is make that face.
The Invisible Feminism would be a more accurate title 😁😁😁
why, because a female is the main hero? go back to the 1950s then, where every single hero was a white guy
@@amangoyal923 that's just stupid
It's honestly hilarious to think a billionaire who invents invisibility would be obsessed with a 5.
