I would LOVE that! The first thing I thought when I heard the next chapter was D&D was "I hope we get some D&D cosmetics!" lol
that isn't a Nothic, it appears to be a Beholder which is a creature that gains its power from its many eye's on eye stalks and its one big eye in the center. The thing is though this beholder seems to have been blinded rendering its powers useless so this is clearly some kind of pet or experiment by vecna, not the new killer.

Actually something that could be quite cool is if they made the surv similar to Legion, in that it releases with a male/female counterpart as skins. Lets say Elves as mentioned. Then they could sell Legendary skins on the shop of a m/f Dragonborn, Tiefling, etc etc. To hit a good chunk of possible player character options available in DND itself.
I've been on the subreddit and can confirm, there is a lot of hate towards DND, far more than I've seen towards previous licenses, alot of it comes down to people having no idea what DND is, multiple people think it's a small license and nothing to do with horror despite it being the biggest license they have. And I'm currently playing in and running a horror campaign

For people who don't know about DnD. Vecna is THE Lich, something between a necromancer and a deity. The Beholder on the teaser seems like a undead beholden, unlike normal ones these are not that smart, they act like minions for liches and other powerful wizards.
Vecna is bound to three items, a sword, a hand and an eye.
My bet is that Vecna will control the beholder as a automatic guard (something as the nemesis zombie and the HUX cameras). Weapon would be the sword and is all i can think
Its likely the map will be Vecna domain of dread the Citadel, and he also has the legendary dagger Afterthought. The abberation in the cage is likley a zombie beholder but It could be a death Tyrant. For survivor Im not sure who it could be, Ive heard bard so maybe Volo, but I could see mordenkainen getting mixed up with the entitiy.
Would Vecna actually use the sword of Kas? Considering that's the only thing that can kill him?

Theres so many classic D&D characters they could bring in as a survivor
- Drizzt is a classic old school drow (dark elf)
- Minsc was recently featured in BG3, but has been around since 1998 in D&D lore (he also comes with a cute pet hamster, or a miniature giant space hamster to be specific)
- Volo was also recently in BG3 and is an adventurer who writes guides to different monsters and tends to embellish his stories quite a lot
- Mordenkainen is a wizard who has been known to be able to hop between realms (Both planes of existence within a single world setting and he's shown up in a couple of different worlds in the D&D multiverse iirc)
- Matt Mercer, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and Chris Perkins are all pretty well recognised D&D dungeon masters, so seeing them sucked into a world where their villains are real could be cool. Matt Mercer is also a voice actor so I'd anticipate him more than the others.
- Van Richten is a vampire hunter from Ravenloft, which is D&D's more horror-like setting imo. It is also a world made of realms that are separated out by an unnatural mist and controlled by Dark Powers, which sounds super similar to the Entity's realm in DBD. The most well known of these being Barovia which is the home of Strahd who would also make sense as a killer (although if the next killer is dracula Im not sure Strahd makes sense, since he is essentially D&D's dracula)
- Tasha is a witch who has been featured recently, specifically in one of the newer rules expansions, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. Idk if she'd be a standalone survivor, but maybe a Mikaela skin of her would be cool
I would love it if Volo was the survivor. If any DnD character were to somehow stumble into the realm it’d be him

There’s a crazy amount of humanoid races in DND, like Tieflings, Drow, Goliaths, Elves, Dragonborn etc. I’d love to see a new race of playable survivor, and they did say they’ve got a lot to show us, but I’m mainly looking forward to Vecna and a new map.
Vecna coming from DnD and not ST makes a shit ton more sense.
Also a Bard survivor would be hilarious if they have a lute in the lobby screen to play
You know I wonder since in dnd make your own character if the survivor is going to have different cosmetics turning them into different dnd races. Like one could be a Drow, another a half-elf, or even one of the smaller races since dnd has the “enlarge” spell.
The positive for them for partnering with D&D is that there are a lot of monsters they can add in the game in the future. From vampires, werewolves, basilisks, death knights, to more iconic ones.
Adding vampires and werewolves from D&D of all licenses is such a terrible idea.

I remember the Castle map designs that leaked and people thought it was the eerie of crows but turned out it wasnt, then it didnt come in with the knight and havent seen it brought up in discussion since. Cote has said they work on chapters well in advance these days but also happy to juggle the release schedule around depending on the reason. So the castle map could have been adapted for this DnD chapter to make it a full chapter. Also highly doubt but hoping for some Evil Dead legendary skins for Ash from the 3rd movie when he goes to camalot, would be a nice little cherry on top for the theme
In the 8.0.0 patch note its said that they are buffing invocation: weaving spider and said "in preperation of other invocation perks" which shows a survivor is more likely coming
The Monster from the Trailer will most likely be part of the New Map thats coming with Dnd. Probably a dungeon of a a castle or sewer map

Don't know if anyone else has said this but I think the new survivor will be a warlock. In dnd warlocks gain power from a patron (A powerful being) through a pact, and it would be really cool to see a warlock make a pact with the entity. In the game they also get an ability called invocations which would line up with the new invocation perk type we got with sable. It's only a name similarity but it feels like a huge opportunity behaviour had to at least consider.
The creature from the teaser is either a Beholder or one of it's "clones". The Beholder and it's "clones" are canonically WAY to big to be killers so it's probably going to be part of the map if we get one. Either that or they could have just used a beholder in the teaser since it is one of, if not the most recognizable monster in DnD. But that doesn't seem like a move behavior would normally make.
Banger vid. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in a new survivor that's conceptually based on previously designed characters that are in the game.
Lots of recycled designs so I'm sure we'll something goofy like vecna or a survivor being a split / dual layer character since that's their latest chapter designs

From now on Full Chapter means new killer, new survivors, and new map. Half chapter means either new killer and new survivor, new killer new map, and new survivor new map. Paragraph chapter meaning only a killer, only a survivor, and or only a new map.
Hello Shmuckles, Love the content you post, but how long do you think this game's lifespan can still go?
I actually have an interesting idea for the survivor of this chapter. What if it is not anyone specific but rather something like the Legion? Basically they would take all the popular races of DnD and make it a swappable costume survivor character.
So lemme give you an example:
Let's say that if you swap the character's head then you can have your survivor be a human, elf, orc etc. and all of those characters would have their own names, backstory etc.
But also I guess if it'd be too hard to make swapping the head - swap the whole character then they can also have the other characters just be cosmetic sets that you can swap into with the humans being the default ones and also the ones that could realistically get the most separate store cosmetic pieces for mixing and matching since I feel like that's the most visually flexible race but also of course they could keep making skins for the other characters as full sets which would bring them a lot of money I imagine (Just think about the bank that they would make from all the elf girl skins alone lol)
Well regardless of what they do, I feel like the one thing that is inevitable is that we are going to get tons of DnD monsters and characters as cosmetics for base game survivors and killers because otherwise it'd be a massive wasted opportunity so maybe only getting 1 specific character as a survivor wouldn't be too bad of a thing but again, I feel like my idea would go really well with the entire spirit of DnD since you get to pick whatever race you want and make your own story so if DBD could have a swappable race survivor - it'd be really cool. If anyone else has something to add to this idea - I'd gladly see what y'all have
I think a cool survivor magic perk could be possessing a pallet to drop if the killer walks through it. Active ability button
I'd like to see Splatterhouse, Elvira, or The Darkness. No doubt that the Rick Taylor and the Terror Mask or Jackie Estacado could make for good killers. Rick's been beating up monsters with his bare hand since the 16 bit era and Jackie is a mob boss with a violent parasite that won't let him die.
If you my own idea for the power I was thinking of spell casting along wit his two major artifacts the eye and hand of Vecna so here it is.
The Archlich
Terror Radios 32 Speed 4.6 Height Average
Power: Vile Caster
At the start of the trial you can swap between two spells. More spells are gained by retrieving both your hand and eye. Survivors can pick up either the hand and eye and use them once all charges are consumed the survivor is temporarily taken over by the killer for 45 seconds before control is returned to them. Vecna will also take his artifacts back if the survivor is put into the dying state by any means.
Artifacts
Hand of Vecna: as a survivor Press the ability button to cast disintegration ray hitting Vecna temporarily stunning him and hindered for 10 seconds. This has two charges
Eye of Vecna: as a survivor press the ability to cast truesight reveals the aura of all generators, survivors, and killer this effect works even if the killer is undetectable. This item has 10 charges consuming one every second.
Spells
Vecna has two starting spells to locate object and fear he gains disintegration ray when retrieving his hand and truesight when retrieving his eye. He unlocks the spell flight of the damned when both artifacts are retrieved.
Locate Object: shows location of both artifacts when cast
Fear: a straight beam one meter wide and 4 meters long is created. It can't go through walls and any survivors hit by it scream and are hindered by 10% for 10 seconds.
Disintegration ray: a small beam is fired, it travels 8 meters and reaches its location instantaneously. Survivors hit by it are injured and inflicted by broken status effect for 40 seconds if a breakable wall or pallet is hit they are shattered instantly.
Truesight: allows you to see the aura of all survivors for 10 seconds regardless of any perks that may show your aura in the process or may hide their own.
Flight of the Damned: you fire a stream of souls in front of you; they move at 8 meters a second and can pass through objects. They have a hit box similar to your own and will disappear after 10 seconds. Survivors hit by them scream and are hindered by 10% for 30 seconds.
It might be a nothic, but it feels more like that's a Beholder, which is a very iconic D&D monster, it's hard to say for sure because though we see it's huge central eye we don't see it's eye stalks cause they appear to be in shadow, but I thought one of them came into the frame briefly.
I hope the map is a interior only dungeon/sewer map. It would go really well with Leon’s & ada’s RE4 skin
Also that female voice sounds like the Doll from resident evil 8 so we’ll see

I Just wanted to say that the voice you can hear in that Image from year 8 isnt harley quinn. The voice sounds 100% like Tina from tiny tinas Wangerland. A Shooter with a Story based on an dnd game
In the teaser they're showing a beholder, I'd assume it's part of the map if we get one
curious has dbd ever had a collab killer with an original survivor in the same chapter (not referring to paragraphs or yoichis original design made for them game)because i don't belive so it would be strange if the anni chapter was dnd but not a paragraph since the entire thing is theater of the mind with the dm thinking up there own story and world the players interacting with it dnd doesn't have a lot of characters who are set in stone so it would be strange to have a dnd chapter as a full chapter the past two anni chapters (end transmission and roots of dread) have also both been original so they seem to be on an original anni streak there's three possibilities on may 14 we could get a dnd chapter , they tease and or annouce a dnd paragraph after the anni reveal or dnd is releasing a dead by daylight official book
So happy to have a lich sorcerer (whatever) type killer type added. Stranger things vecna should just be a skin if anything

I think that woman voice sounds more like Juliet Starling not Harley Quinn. But they have the same voice actress and kinda sound familiar. Also there is a remake coming out of lollipop chainsaw which is what Juliet comes from & her game is sort for horror based? It’s a zombie slasher, a very good game honestly.

I really hope the new survivor is Volo due to his increase of popularity recently (and well, he’s a great character in the source books) he could have been investigating a mysterious phenomenon like always and get sucked into the entities realm
Here’s some perk ideas I would love to see with him
Bardic Inspiration: while you see a survivor in a chase other than yourself, you can press the interact button to give them 1 out of 6 random effects
(Similar to reassurance + Dramaturgy)
Surveyor: take 2 seconds to interact with a killer specific object (trap,teleport,chest) to reveal them to survivors for certain lengths of time + see them within a short distance for yourself.
Cast: Invisibility: after being chased by the killer for long period of time, gain the ability to crouch and turn invisible for 10 seconds (would be a new perk type) invisibility will go away if you move
Perks not really thought out or accounted for increasing the rarity, but I believe it both shows how Volo gives info about the world through his books (surveyor), him being a hard (bardic inspiration) and casting invisibility because…. Why not
I hope we get new invocation perks next chapter, theres a lot of potential with them

In the mornings I like to sit down with a cup of coffee and watch his videos
They wouldn't just put in "an elf", it would need to be a lore-related character since Vecna is a very specific lore individual. And honestly I can't think of anyone that it would apply to as a survivor. None but super, super high level characters who are in the lore that is kind of silly because then it'd be like dropping Iron Man into DBD in terms of the character's power level.
There is a map, there will also be a survivor with a new "feature"

to those people who are up in arms and screaming about it not being Stranger things Vecna, maybe before you judge go read up on what DnD Vecna's abilities are and things he has done in the past cause the guy is probably able to be 10 times scarier then stranger things Vecna.
also as an avide enjoyer of DnD lore I can say that there are Elven rituals in the lore that are similar to the Invocation circle Sable brough. so if we get an Elf surviver there might be some new Perk around that and maybe a new boon totem depending on if they go with a high elf or a wood elf, elfs are also known for being very agile so might get a new perk to help survivers get out of a chase or hide from the killer.

The idea of an entire race as a survivor seems... very strange and unlikely...
I'd expect an established character such as someone from BG3 or Drizzt/etc. and/or D&D themed outfits for existing survivors, such as class themes (Cleric, Fighter, Druid, Wizard, etc.)
From the company’s perspective it makes more sense that it’s D&D. I don’t know much about it, but people who play horror games arguably aren’t playing D&D. From the community’s perspective this game is enjoyed mainly because of favorite horror antagonists..
the girl from the voice clip is very obviously from an anime dub, I don't know which one because I don't really watch anime like that, and when I do I don't really like the dubs. A lot of people are saying it could be someone from RWBY, but if you want to solve the clip I guess look into anime voices and see if any of them match her.

I understand why the hype is low, but i think im really going to enjoy this chapter. Im not the biggest fan of d&d or the lore, but ive played it, and seeing an elf or another humanoid race would be so awesome to see. Also we dont really have a dungeon map in the game yet, and its an awesome concept, so im really pumped to see what theyve done with it.

The thing I want in the future are definitely Five nights at freddys, reworks for alien queen skin so she uses eggs and can control face huggers like Charlotte and Victor then be able to use chest burster mori, a rework for William burkins so he mutates and can have new claw moris, and a licker skin. Sil from Species, and dren from Splice, maybe island of dr. Moreau human animal hybrids, the fly, little shop of horror audrey 2 and the blob skin for dredge, and last but not least The Thing.
let,s hope fnaf is chapter 36 or predator is chapter 36

My big issue with DND Vecna is more that DND has alot better stuff to offer and it feels like they're hoping over strangers things to get Vecna instead of using some of the many amazing DND creatures they could use like mind flayers or slaad or umber hulks.
Vecna just doesn't really feel all that original or DND compared to something like a mindflayer, feel like stranger things is the only reason they're doing vecna which feels like they don't value the dnd license as much

Sound a little like Chica imo but that could just be me hoping. Maybe Kas is the survivor for DND chapter? He is Vecna's vampiric lieutenant and was the one who killed him in DND and he's obsessed to get revenge on him now.

Here’s the thing I know it’s a full chapter but what if we got 2 killers and 1 survivor. Cause imagine they show a dnd character and we go okay and then they show stranger things Vecna also coming with the chapter maybe that would be to much of a good thing. But still I think it would be a cool idea personally. Also it would kinda be funny if we got trolled and the skin coming along the main chapter is dnd related but then stranger things is the main chapter and dbd just commits the biggest troll in history on us.
