Uh do people still not know that DnD Vecna and Stranger Things Vecna can’t work as skins. They have completely different powers and looks. The only thing they share is their name.

Let's be very clear, D&D Vecna and Stranger Things Vecna are completely different characters. The only reason he's even called Vecna in Stranger Things is because the kids keep naming the upside-down creatures after D&D monsters.
And really none of the D&D Versions of the monsters are the same as their counterparts except in very very broad strokes.
It’s like complaining that we didn’t get the DnD Demogorgon instead of the ST Demogorgon. People don’t realize how idiotic this whole thing is. The two characters are literally nothing alike and making the ST Vecna a skin would be a gigantic waste of a character when he could still get his own DLC

I've been saying this for months. I think the DnD anniversary is just a coincidence. The rekindle of the relationship with Netflix last year makes me think that ST Vecna is what we'll get. There are also popular potential survivor's and the final season coming.

Billy would also be a cool legendary skin, I wish Dacre Montgomery was in the game even if it was just a legendary cosmetic for Steve.

Hey! Please notice this!! I met Spencer Charnas from the band Ice Nine Kills at the Nashville Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Festival today and told him about Dead by Daylight. For those who don’t know he makes music about horror movies, at least with his last two albums. With the slipknot and iron maiden collabs, with a potential foo fighters collab i saw on twitter (dont know if thats real), i thought it was worth a shot. He said that “We gotta do that man.” Again i met him on March 30th at the Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Festival in Nashville Tennessee if anyone wants to check. what could happen is they give vecna a power thats similar between the two characters, make there own design and have 2 skins one for dnd and the other for ST but thats probably asking alot and is a long shot
i think Vecna dnd for this year since dnd 50th anniversary is this year, then next year for the release of season 5 ST vecna could be his own killer.

I respect DND Vecna and would love to see how he plays in the game. However I also really want to see ST Vecna as his own killer and not a skin. I don’t mind DND Vecna, I just hope it doesn’t diminish the chance to see ST Vecna on his own.

Personally, I don't have much of a stake in either since obviously they wouldn't stupidly name a killer "The Vecna". Both could show up at some point. It's only those who can't differentiate that would be troublesome to explain it to.
I do not understand it, guess they are mainly ST fans and not fans of dnd, vecna is one of the oldest rpg villains ever, he deserves to be in the game.
If we get DND Vecna, I really hope they just do both him and ST Vecna as different killers. The only thing they share is the name, and they could easily call ST Vecna “The One”. I would rather get a second chapter with new survivors and skins like they did for Resident Evil, and I also think it would make them more money than just making a skin.

Stranger Things hype is dead right now and Season 5 isn’t coming out until early 2025 at best. This is a great opportunity to get people interested again with such a long wait.
For the moment, I'm quite not sure about this. Even if they have the licence back, it seems like they aren't doing anything with the licence for now. We still have 0 skin, badge, charm or something linked to ST since the return. It feel like they maybe are "scared" of doing something that could maybe go into scrap again and I'm sacred the St licence is just the new "Freddy one" where they just have the licence but will never add stuff like skin etc... Fir the moment, Vecna feel like impossible for me for the moment and the only moment I would be like "maybe next chapter it's him" will be at the released of the s5 but for now, it's will not be in 2024 so...

My point is, could they have just seen Vecna and Wizards of the Coast together in a written document, and like that Secret Lair card thingy, it was actually a DnD license but a ST collab all along?

Even though they'd be seperate licenses, a D&D legendary cosmetic for a Stranger Things Vecna would make sense. They literally named Vecna after the D&D version in the show, after all. Because a D&D chapter really wouldn't make much sense, but it would make sense as a cosmetic
Not really, vecna in dnd is a lich god with many spells and necrotic abilities.
The trouble is that there's very little overlap between the two characters aside from a kinda similar appearance. ST Vecna has telekinesis and tentacle stuff, D&D Vecna has an enormous repertoire of magical spells and such.
IMAGINE THEY BRING TWO VECNAS AS TWO SEPERATE KILLERS WITH TWO DIFFERENT POWERS? THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE MOST INSANE THING FOR THE ANNIVERSARY

I'd just like to point out that you can clearly see some D&D guides on Mathieu Cote's book shelf. 🤣
If D&D does come to DBD I don't think it would be with Vecna, D&D has so many classic villains that could be drawn on for a killer. Strahd Von Zarovich is an obvious choice for me, in D&D he has control over his own realm, Barovia, which is sealed by Dark Powers by a thick fog or mist. Which sounds a little familiar, right? his adventure setting comes with 3 built in easy survivor options in the form of Van Richten- a vampire hunter, Ezmerelda - his apprentice, Ireena - Strahd's obsession. If they wanted to do a "mists of Barovia" skin pack for other characters, theres easy options there too. For killers you have Piddlewick II for Chucky - He's a murderous possessed doll, Baba Lysaga for Hag, she is an ancient witch/hag, and an easy Blight skin as Mongrelfolk character as they are like mutant people.
Vecna was brought into popular culture mostly by Critical Role's campaign 1 and Stranger things, bringing him in for a D&D licensed killer makes sense in that regard, but I think would have more people disappointed its not the Stranger Things version of his character.
Other classic D&D villains that could work would be Acerack - an Iconic Lich on the cover of the dungeon master's guide, Xanathar - an Iconic Beholder, though Im not sure how their killer powers would work. Vecna is a cool character, but having them in D&D when there are so many others to pick from especially if there are plans/talks for a ST Vecna at some point seems like a weird choice to me
Did you ever think about "weird but why not" DBD X LOL crossover? League has some cool horror looking characters. Kalista? Thresh? Viego? Aatrox? Nocturne? Fiddlesticks?

I honestly wouldn't mind getting Dungeons and Dragons in Dead by Daylight over Stranger Things part 2. I feel as though having a magical fantasy character would really broaden the scope of possible chapters. After getting Sci-Fi chapters, I think Fantasy would be rather exciting!
Also, I should point out the the Stranger Things team, and the characters in the show are fans of Dungeons and Dragons and named the Demogorgon and Vecna after those D&D characters. It's not as if there are separate "versions" of the Demogorgon and Vecna, it's just the name was used to reference or honor D&D. That's how I see it.
I like dnd (I play it in person( but I want ST part 2.

ST Vecna skin for Freddy Krueger. lol. They are basically the same character, to the point that they put Robert Englund in the season as a homage.
The Freddy Krueger in dbd is the remake version not the original robert England Freddy don't think the license holders for the remake Freddy want to make more skins since Freddy doesn't have any skins in dbd I personally don't see any issue have both St vecna and Dnd vecna both become killers
I don’t think it was smart for the licence owners of D&D to let Netflix use the name “Vecna” or “Demogorgon”, but Stranger Things became way more popular in culture then D&D unfortunately has, and so when people hear “Vecna is coming to Dead by Daylight”, they expect Stranger Things, and when it’s not Stranger Things, there will only be disappointment.

Both would be awesome. Bringing DnD into DBD would be a bold but a really hype move. And while I’m not a fan of Stranger Things Season 4 I would love some new ST survivors
People saying DnD and Stranger Things Vecna don't share powers but DnD Vecna is an uber powerful mage, he could easily do everything Stranger Things Vecna does, it would be fairly easy to make a kit that works for both, anything about telekinesis would fit for both, they even say in the video that the abilities line up. Just give Stranger Things Vecna a unique mori like Naughty Bear and its perfect. Dnd Vecna as the main character would also give so much more skin potential, grabbing anything from the monster manual like mind flayers or drow
As mentioned by @BasementDweller_ the powers wouldn't work on the same killer so here's my idea. . . D&D and Netflix/Stranger Things share the anniversary as for the first time ever Behaviour Interactive will release 2 Killers at the same time, Both Vecna - Stranger Things: Netflix and Dungeons & Dragons: Wizards of the Coast. That way it's a big reveal suitable for an anniversary AND the community gets both Vecna's that can have different powers and skins. Meanwhile we get 2 new survivors - Eleven and Eddie that can have their own collection of skins - Joyce, Robin, Max, Hopper, Mike & Dustin. Huge reveal, huge content, all suitable for an actual anniversary reveal and livestream celebration.
P.S I know I'm dreaming but it's better to have dreams than to have none at all 😉
The Vecna from Stranger Things and Vecna from DnD are nothing alike and share NOTHING apart from the name. Those two will NOT be together as a bundle or as skins. What a ridiculous theory.

They probably don't want to risk another Demogorgon situation with losing the license. I can see them being very hesitant to make another license with Netflix after losing them especially since Netflix is constantly losing licenses, so it being a skin where if it fails they just remove from shop instead of the entire killer makes a lot of sense

@@majrgaming2633 it's a pretty obvious assumption that after having a character be fully unavailable to purchase and the map removed from the game, they wouldn't be that keen on instantly making another chapter with them, but some skins would be completely fine since they're no stranger to limited skins, but full on chapters being unpurchasable for new players and lost maps is definitely something they don't want to risk again.
Both Vecnas are undead wizards so it would work perfectly as a skin. As DND vecna can do anything Stranger things vecna can. The only downside is they'd have to bring DND Vecnas level down to STs
@@aetriandimitri190 It depends on how negotiations went, we don’t know, u can make assumptions but u can’t say for sure what can, will, or should happen based on things that aren’t provable, people also assumed Xenomorph wasn’t in the game cuz of Disney, then Mathew confirmed BHVR was actually the ones who wanted to wait on Xenomorph and they could’ve contacted Disney at any point, many assumptions have been proven wrong before, also ST Vecna isn’t an undead wizard at all, he’s a very much alive person with telekinetic powers that took control of another dimension’s hive mind, he’s not like DND Vecna at all, without the upside down he’s a guy with the same powers Eleven has

With potential new skins for Steve and Nancy, that could be new survivors but no new perks. DnD is not gonna have any survivors anyways. And instead of a survivor two new killers would be quite the anniversary stunt.
How they wouldve done that time management wise. Idk. But they've been suprising us with these insane and impossible chapters these last couple of licensed ones. So I wouldnt put it past bhvr to something that no-one expects again.
I can only imagine DnD Vecna being released in June, as a paragraph chapter.
Stranger Things part 2 could be released in July, similar to what happened with the Singularity chapter and then Nicolas Cage

How would they bring both in at the same time? You can't have a legendary skin for one licensed character that turns them into a differnt character for another property. If DnD vecna comes to the game, with a ST vecna legendary, and they lose the rights to DnD Vecna, they will have the license to sell a skin for a character nobody can purchase. It would be a dead license. A license they have but can't use because the license for a totally differnt property expired.

Bring Vecna from DND over Vecna from ST makes absolutely no sense. They already have ties with netflix and stranger things, ST Vecna is recognizable and would draw people in. DND Vecna just isn't as popular with the mainstream.

Worth mentioning that Vecna is the first Stranger Things villain named after a D&D character which is actually somewhat similar to the original source material. They're still very different characters, but for comparison, the similarity between Demogorgon/Mind Flayer and their D&D counterparts would be like having a character named Spider-Man which is about a serial killer who lures his victims in like a spider in their web. The similarity between the Vecnas is more like if you had a character named Spider-Man who was turned into a giant monstrous half-man half-spider creature through radiation. Still very different from Marvel's Spider-Man but much closer.

Honestly, I don’t agree with that title. I feel like it’s possible that they’re lying about it being the guy from DND because Matt Coté did lie about Chucky, not being a possibility for Dead by Daylight, but then it turned out that it wasn’t true when he came out so it’s not impossible that they could just be lying but it’s also important to keep in mind that DND did appear in their survey and they’ve shown some interest in it so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the guy from DND.

But a weird thing I wish you DBD news and theory channels would bring up is the fact that the guy who predicted this did not mention who the August killer was, which I think that would be some good theory stuff to go over even if we haven’t got the anniversary yet. Dark thought: So in the past BHVR has always announced the base character. Take Pinhead for example. We all knew that killer was coming day one and even in PTB that was all you saw. Then come release we got the chatterer skin.
What if they show announce Vecna as the D&D skin version all through PTB but release day they drop the Stranger things skin of Vecna. Not only would you have to buy the base killer, the skin would likely come at an absolute premium to satisfy both bhvr and Netflix for a cut.

I would love to see a DnD chapter in DbD with Vecna as killer and DnD-themed cosmetics for survivors. If the power is similar enough to the stranger things version, they can just bring out a ST-Vecna cosmetic for DnD-Vecna along side maybe Joyce and Hopper as survivors. And I would like to see a new map, that resembles a dungeon from DnD
Just gonna say it. From a purely marketing stand point, DND Vecna makes more sense due to both the amount of Vecna in the latest DND media, and the fact that it would pull in a new adduce to look at DBD and maybe become full players. ST Vecna does not work as well due to the fact that most ST fans who would be interested in DBD already play Demo. But ST fans hold out hope for another day I whole heartedly believe that BHVR will make a sequel to the ST chapter, it might be a stand alone survivor though.
The BHVR staff love DnD. Heck even Mathieu plays it once a week.
They probably really want a DnD lisence in their game, stop bringing Stranger Things into this. The names are the same, but the characters could not be more different.

@@siredtom69 okay maybe not perfect but would be a good idea. Think about it Gow 2 is when Kratos is most rageful at the god's and would do whatever to do to get vengeance. I also think his dynamic with the entity would be interesting.

Please please don’t buy vecna if he comes out. Hasbro has been extremely scrummy the last few years to their wizards of the coasts fans. If I remember correctly, they charged 200$ (can’t remember but it was a good chunk) for old reprinted cards that people can’t use in tournament, they sent Pinkerton a after someone even tho it was their mistake and other things

Honestly, I don’t care which ip Vecna comes from at this point. I’m over the character completely, his 15 mins of fame was because of Stranger Things, them scrounging to get the DnD license is because of Stranger Things, and I don’t even care about Stranger Things anymore. Waited too long on this one imo, Vecna doesn’t hold up to other IPs

Honestly the Stranger Things Vecna would work best as a legendary Pinhead skin. Change chains into tentacles and make the box a clock of some kind. Trying to force D&D Vecna and ST Vecna into the same power set would severely diminish one or both of them.

The game is Severely survivor sided now. A survivor hopped a window 10 times yesterday and had more jumps available and another window right behind him. I couldn't get bloodlust on either window because of the walls.... If survivors can just loop you at pallets or windows forever then sloppy butcher should last till healed. Not fair to nerf if if a survivor can spam vault literally 50 times until help arrives. Yeah they nerfed sloppy butcher now i have to chase down 4 healthy survs who camp windows??? This game sucks now. I literally make survivors finish gens without being chased and earn no money. Since the devs love to buff them imma brain rot them off the game😊
