I have a question, if you can make tea from the leaves is there a reaction from the tea? I read below that that the seeds irritate the mucus membrane. I wanted to try the tea, and wonder if it has the same effect.

we have quite a bit of this around my area, especially on my farm and my parents farm. I have eaten the berries, the inside is just like pepper but the outer skin is disgusting. Apparently they are related to cashews and people who are allergic to cashews can get a bad reaction from the berries. I noticed something odd when trimming some. The white sap come out and the bees were messing with it for literally 2 weeks after. they were obsessed with it like I had never seen.

To those who are planning on planting this variety of tree, be advised that these trees are ok for farms and locations that have a lot of open space. I would definitely NOT recommend planting these trees in a residential area, as they tend to become enormous over time, continually drop leaves and berries on a daily basis, and have a very active root system that will uplift patio concrete and gazebo pads. I am speaking from experience.
In addition, if you plant these trees on or near a property line, be prepared to have your neighbor come knocking on your door complaining about the leaves dropping in their yard and causing other damage due to the root system. It will also run about $2,000 to $2,500 every two years to have one tree pruned, as they grow to over 20-25 feet tall and require professional tree trimmers to handle them. Great trees, but not in a neighborhood.

Thanks so much for the information. I have to cute trees by my driveway , they are like three feet tall; I never knew that they could become a liability. I don’t know. I felt in love with the little peppercorns seeds; I guess I will cut them down myself. Thanks so much

Gonna have it cut down then sprayed with special chemical to stop it from growing after we have it taken down.
