    I don't get why people can't seem to see that it is still in character that Strange thought of continuing the same motivation considering how alone he is acting as the only guardian for all those universe killers for infinite times. I guess because I've gone through depression myself I can definitely see the grief and loneliness in Strange piled up and then manifested towards something more sinister eventually.

      @@k.delpino1124 yeah, it was more in character for him to delve into sinister characteristics once more. It was also in character for him to - after all his growth - fight his demons and sacrifice himself in the end and let go. He knew he wouldnt stop fighting while he was alive, so he decided to feed himself to world forge and still get his goal, without evil he caused perservering. Its all very much in character - his villain, desperate and reedemed side.

      @@drnl1241but fabric and cloth simulation are really hard to animate, especially on simili-2D renders. Especially for Strange's cape. I've heard people complaining that they nerfed Supreme Strange… No, they didn't!
    It took two of them, one a veteran peak human soldier and another a walking tesseract WITH an arsenal of multiversal weapons to even be able to spar with him on an "arguably" even footing. And EVEN WITH THAT, they weren't able to defeat him until he himself fought off his own demons and sacrificed himself.

    I think the Watcher, the TVA, and who knows what else exist in this fifth dimension. For fifth-dimension-eons, Watcher was just watching the Sacred Timeline and the TVA doing their thing, not interfering. Then, Loki happened. And so, Watcher is now watching the new Yggdrassil Multiverse.

  • @DarthTingleBinks
    @DarthTingleBinks 9 месяцев назад +29

    Something I've seen a lot of people complain about in this episode (other than having two overpowered women beat Strange, which I don't care about for either of those factors (them being overpowered and them being women)), is that they just made Strange a bad guy again. But like, people forget Strange Supreme was literally the villain of his episode last season. He helped out Watcher at the end of the season, but we can presume that was just serve his own goals of bringing his universe back. Because if we know one thing about Strange, from all that we've seen of any of him throughout the MCU, it's that he's obsessed with Christine.
    We also know he's willing to kill other people and take their powers for the greater good. One of him tried to kill America Chavez in Multiverse of Madness. And multiple other Stranges in that film caused incursions and used the magic of the Darkhold to achieve their own goals as well. Every Strange is 100% committed to achieving their goals, through whatever means they deem necessary. Strange Supreme is no different.

      It's more like power progression. Not just because they are women. It's the same problem with captain marvel. Kahhori had zero power progression. It makes a character more compelling, man or woman

    • @DarthTingleBinks
      @DarthTingleBinks 9 месяцев назад +5

      @@olatundeakala152 I've never considered power progression as something that makes any character compelling, and I have no problems with Captain Marvel having zero power progression (in her film, she probably had some off screen before the events of the film). And this is coming from someone who is a writer at heart. I care more about the person than I do about how fast they learn their powers. Their powers are merely a bonus, not their entire character. Actually, this whole hatred toward overpowered characters/characters with little struggle that's been on the rise in the past few years has made me come up (or start to) a story specifically about people with natural power versus people with no natural power. That in and of itself isn't a unique idea, it's been done to death. But I hope I can do something unique with it and try to make people realize it's not the power or lack of struggle they dislike, but... Well, I don't know what. Hopefully that's an answer I'll learn when fleshing out the idea.

    • @olatundeakala152
      @olatundeakala152 9 месяцев назад +1

      @joshua_swanson I think power progression 100 percent helps out a character. When you come out nasty out the gate, the feeling of dread the audience is supposed to feel when you face a bad guy becomes almost nonexistent. Then it just seems like the writers can do whatever the plot requires .

    Some thoughts, while I agree that the pacing is a issue, and the prisoners kinda felt dumb since plenty of them can fly. I don’t really find some of the other things that much of a problem.
    For strange supreme’s motive. Of course he didn’t give up on bringing back his universe. The biggest trait of all superheroes and super villains is Stubbornness, you can’t be one without it. Now obviously there’s a limit before the readers/viewers get bored of it without some twist, but this is only his second showing so it’s fine.
    The infinity stones, are magic rocks you think of what you want and they do it. I don’t remember Thanos needing to practice with them in the movies. it’s not like the secret invasion finale where those powers are biological and need to be learned. The only limit to the stones is how much the body can handle them, which the infinity armor already proved to counteract.
    Plus Peggy wasn’t all that creative anyway, “power stone big punch,” “space stone to teleport shield around,” “oh hey strange made clones, I should do that too.” And she already used the time stone last episode. Kahhori showed way more creative with her use of the space stone by itself.

    (Forgive the copy/paste, don't want to write something different for every reaction I watch)
    It's a great finale if you judge it purely by spectacle, but merely an OK one as a conclusion to the entire season. Maybe less if you're like me and are torn on Strange's sudden change of heart. I liked his idea of capturing universe killers, but it definitely feels like they didn't plan ahead for this because it's nowhere near as cohesive as S1's finale.
    Complicated, if I had to summarize it in one word. Season 2 is better on the whole, but Season 1's conclusion was more satisfying.

Good solo episodes but the reveal that ties them all up and who the bad guy is and what his motivation felt all quickly bunched at the end. Maybe if it was slowly revealed at the latter half instead of just putting it all out there at the last episode. I'm also not sure if I missed any episode or important scene but Kahhori's power set wasn't clearly defined.

      She has the powers of the space stone, energy blasts (like we saw happen to captain marvel), portals/teleportation (we have seen a lot), telekinesis (moving objects through space), barriers (stopping objects within space), super speed (moving herself quickly through space). The killmonger thing was her teleporting him through the armor then through a portal.

    Ehhh... this made the infinity stones look immensely underpowered, which I guess we can say because Peggy had no idea how to use them. No matter how Strange makes himself, those stones would be able to control any category he made himself stronger in. This season felt like it tried to do way too much at the end and should have replaced some of the slower and less important episodes with more set up for the finale.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this season, far more than season 1. The episodes had a much better grasp on the characters and how to write them into the stories and didn't just rely on pointless character banter intended to provide "humor" to the episodes. That said, I think the release of the episodes was a little weird. With season 1, it was really good. We got a bunch of isolated stories until the Thor episode, where we first saw Infinity Ultron, and then episode 8 was how he came to power and episode 9 was how he was defeated. But season 2 was all over the place. I think I would've preferred if episode 1 was the Tony Stark and Gamora episode, and then we got episode 1 for episode 2, and then episode 3 as it was, followed by episodes 2, 7, and 6, in that order.
    So by that point, we'd have seen the unfinished episode from last season first, the isolated episodes, and then finally the Kahhori episode. And then episodes 5, 8, and now 9 would have brought back Agent Carter and told a three part story from her perspective. It would make the whole season a lot easier to follow, instead of getting a prequel for episode 4, a sequel for episode 5 that goes unfollowed until three episodes later, and a brand new character introduction placed in the middle of a three part story (four, if you count her episode), as well as another isolated episode placed in the middle of that story just because.
    But I can always watch the season in my preferred order whenever I rewatch the show. Just gotta remember the sequence. 4, 1, 3, 2, 7, 6, 5, 8, 9.

    A personal hypothasis on why Strange did not collect any infinity stones. Every other episode this season I really liked, though. And pair that with the handful of episode from season 1 I like (Doctor Strange, Thor, Ultron, and Guardians of the Multiverse), and the fact that basically every other episode is simply okay, then the show is, on average, one of the better D+ Marvel shows.
