Hey, yes it was a good decision. I had hand pain from using the mouse and the Apple trackpad was a good change for the other hand on Windows with the drivers from Github. I'm a MacOS user myself now though!

The New version now supports bluetooth!
(And you gotta give at least some credit to the guy who actually programmed the drivers IMO)
It works wirelessly with my Dell Inspiron which is built with it's own precision trackpad! I'm very pleased.
Is the install file the same for the bluetooth function to work?

Thank you so much. I downloaded the latest Release 3979 and installed the drives on my NUC10i7FNH running Windows 11. My Magic Trackpad 2 runs smoothly, all gestures work and it runs WIRELESS, no need for the wire to make it work. Again thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi Marcos, I also installed the latest release on my Matebook 14 (AMD) but if I connect wireless my trackpad it will be very limited, even the scrolling function not working at all. Have you any idea what is the problem? The laptop is running Windows 10.

@Che Guevara I really think it depends on your machine. If you have a precision touchpad, it should work wirelessly.
I saw your video ordered the trackpad online and picked it up same day and BAMMMM works amazing. Thank you so much was exactly what I was looking for. You should be doing some affiliate amazon and sell the trackpads or a USB to lightening cable on this vid as I needed a longer one for my desktop setup. Gotta be some way you can monetize this awesome advice lol! Again thank you!

BTW don't even need the cable on Windows 11, no delay and full functionality just as on my MacBook Pro.

How did ypu get the bluetooth to work? I installed the new drivers but the bluetooth doesn't work.
@@DisabledGamer988 I just connected mine via bluetooth after installing the driver with the touchpad connected. It took like 30 seconds for it to actually work after adding it.

Awesome. It's been over a year I've got my trackpad and it's been sitting in a drawer until I saw your video. Finally, I can navigate windows like I'm on my Mac.
This is great! i just got my magic trackpad today, and it works just about as good as it does on macOS! I've wanted a trackpad for my pc for a while, and nobody does it like Apple does. I'm so glad I found a way to make it work properly. Hopefully they get better bluetooth support at some point. I would prefer to not keep it plugged in forever, not a great thing for the battery.
Thank you! I literally just bought a MTP 2 because I watched this video. One thing that happened to me- I installed the precision drivers then plugged in the track pad. Windows wouldn't recognize the device. I couldn't even just move the mouse. I then paired it via bluetooth which got the cursor moving. Then I plugged it in to USB and it worked perfectly. Works really nice!

@@bulbasaurus_ You have to unplug the device for bluetooth to work. Realize, though, that you cannot get full functionality on the MTP 2 over bluetooth on Windows 10 using the method in the video. You must use a cable.

I cannot use a mouse. I have to start using my windows machine, to drive my ham radio station. I decided to buy a magic trackpad and see what I could cobble up with boot camp drivers. When the pad arrived, I googled to find a cookbook for extracting and installing the drivers. Then I noticed this video.

I'm noticing some 'stuttering' issues on mouse movement, especially when trying to do precision work. I'll adjust the speed and precision parameters and see if there's a resolution there. Otherwise, FANTASTIC!

So thank you so much for this video. I have just ordered a magic trackpad 2 for my desktop PC that has no bluetooth. Been wanting this as a companion to my mouse for years but never managed to hook up the magic trackpad 1 with a bluetooth dongle.
That's awesome and I'm going to try today. I wish you would have shown how well dragging windows around works on Windows. It's something we do constantly. Most don't know on Mac you can go into Accessibility and turn on 3-finger drag, which will change your life. You can also select text that way.
Please let us know once you figure out how to use this in Wireless Mode!
if you click on the link that he provide it will take you to the last update of the driver, they already have the Bluetooth update.

Confirming as of November 2021 this is likely the best touchpad solution for windows 10. It works incredibly well.

This is great! I was getting really annoyed with the random things that happened with the trackpad on my 2013 macbook pro. The package was super easy to install (once I extracted the zip) and now it works perfectly!

I recently purchased one for myself.
Please take this into consideration:
1.- Trackpad Responsiveness:
The Magic Trackpad is not as responsive as the ones built into the MacBook's, that's because MT2 has a response time of 11 milliseconds, and Macbook trackpads have 8 milliseconds response time, the same as wired mouses, so they are MUCH more responsive when moving fingers.
Unnoticable difference
If you could edit the description to say that this is working on bluetooth now with the newest release (3979) of the drivers, that would be helpful to people.

I run Windows 10 on a 2016 Razer and as of Feb 2023, I just plug in my Magic Trackpad and it automatically acknowledges it and lets me use it! Wired only tho, not via bluetooth. Works great!

Hey... i just got my Magic Trackpad 3. I watched your video before doing any configuration and it got connected when i had windows looking for a new mouse. It didn't get the touchpad settings until i got the files you have on the link. Thank you very much, i love it!!! I don't need to use the cable though, not sure if there was an update.

thank you soo much, i have the magic trackpad 2 and for me it works without the wired connection because I downloaded the latest driver version (3979). If your in the same boat, after extractng the files and having fully downloaded the software, do a quick window search "trackpad" and itt should all come up. I am using the trackpad on a desktop so that/s amazing to know it works. thank you sooo much!!!!

Having issues--operating windows 10, installed the driver and says it was completed successfully, magic trackpad plugged into comp using USB, checked to make sure the USB ports are all working, but still not able to use any gesturing, tried restarting---what am I doing wrong here?
Got it to work -- accidentally download ARM64 instead of AMD64

It's 2023 now and it appears that the current Apple Magic Trackpad is supported by Windows natively as a precision touchpad. At least Windows 10 anyway, as my computer is too old to install Windows 11, which I assume would also support it natively.

3:11 - yeah wondering the same - why doesn't anyone else make trackpads for Windows. But worked great for me using bluetooth with the precision drivers and all touch gestures work just as good as my native trackpad on Samsung laptop

I followed the install procedure but the Touchpad settings never came up in the settings page. Does this only work on AMD and not on Intel?
No such thing. AMD64 basically means 64 bit Windows in this case.
