Range Rover or G Wagen?

I would of said G Wagon for the longest time but these days I'm thinking Range Rover. Still has an amazing road presence but also has ride comfort as well. While the G wagon is super capable off-road, I'm never going to use it that way for its price. That's why I have a jeep.

Such a shame Range Rover SV Coupe didnt make it into production. It would look so good in this color.
I don't quite realize what JLR has been doing the last few years. They brought the coupe and also the all new all EV XJ so close to production, only to cut them.

I think this model is more ‘classy’ than the new one. The interior especially.

4:55 I’m willing to bet that even in 2021 if you peel back the valve covers and timing cover that engine has FoMoCo stamped all over it. Those engines are basically a hodgepodge of Ford V8 parts. You can actually order the timing kit for these from Ford for the 5.0 V8.
Ford owned Land Rover for a time so did BMW. The reliability ‘topic’ on these comes mainly from the BMW era and specifically the engines! The ones to buy, from that era - L322 - have the Jaguar engines. The new Range Rover has now gone back to BMW engine with the 4.4 V8. Not sure your point here but manufacturers use engines from other manufacturers all the time because it costs a gazillion bucks to develop new engines. Only the big boys can afford to do that. Aston Martin, for example, now use AMG engines.

I work at a car dealership and my supervisor let me pick one up that we bought for our inventory. It was the best 4 hours of my life lol. Besides the 13 mpg I was getting it was lovely.
They also let me take it to Montreal and back one day too, I was like a kid in a candy shop 😂.
