      This is actually a very good answer because I’ve crystal icing has become a concern in recent years. This has caused a few jet engines to surge and ultimately fail. For converting gusting during landing we take the gusting speed and deduct the wind speed then divide by half and the half you add up to the approche speed given to aircraft you're flying to avoid bieng Brown out of the runway position. Eg let's say you're fly cirrus 22 with given approche speed of 86knot wich full flaps and the wind is 33510G24 therefore I will just deduct the 10 wind speed from 24 which is gust giving us 14 then take ½ which 7 and add to the approaching speed above of 86knot giving final approche speed of 86+7 =93knots. I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding the Valid time. My winds aloft at KIND are saying current through (Valid) 031800z. And my for use times are 1400-2100z. If the valid through time ends at 1800z and its now 1913z I cant use these numbers anymore because they are invalid. correct? But no new report has replaced it so what gives here?

      No problem. That’s fine. They’re just saying that starting at 1800z, these are the winds you can expect. Those would be fine to use at 1913. Just keep in mind, the farth you get away from those times, the less accurate those are

I don’t like to wear the uniform in my videos, but there weren’t many options at the time I made this. • @ashlynholter1883
      @ashlynholter1883 6 месяцев назад

      @FreePilotTraining nothing against the PA team you went to, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they were incorrect in that providing you that advice. Like I said, I would take the clip into your local legal office to ask. I would physically show an attorney the video, not just describe it because I can see how there may be room for misinterpretation. I understand taking the video down may come at the cost of the education for others, and that's unfortunate, but it's best to err on the side of safety so as to not misrepresent the Air Force and the federal government.

    I really like all your videos and have learned a lot from them. However, you shouldn't be selling some product wearing a military uniform. If it isn't illegal, which I think it is, it is at least kind of a cheap way of establishing credibility. We all already know you fly big planes for the AF. Did you check with any JAG officer in your unit before publishing this? I just know I was in both active duty and national guard army units some years ago and we would have been blown up for trying to sell a commercial product in uniform. Greetings CPT, I definitely appreciate your straight to the point videos. Nonetheless, I am disappointed to see you use the uniform for personal gain by shilling products.

      Thank you. And I do appreciate your candor. That was definitely not the intent, and I’m only in uniform because I was on a deployment when I made this one. Sometimes you don’t have much of a choice.

      And what is wrong with him doing so?

      It creates an appearance of federal endorsement of the flying eyes brand which he cannot do. It's potentially a violation of an AFI and ethical regulations.@@solkjaer34278

    Again with the flying eyes. I think we all know those things are garbage.

      200 dollars for injection molded glasses that you can get on zenni for 20.00 is obsurd. They're walmart quality glasses, and you know it. I work for an airline, and I'm in the crew room with professional pilots everyday, none of them are wearing that crap. Look me in the face and tell me that mass produced made in China plastic glasses are better than randolphs.... not hardly.
