11 years later and it still works. Thank you so much, problem solved.
14 years here... Still works :)
15 years later and this method worked LIKE A CHARM. Just started playing Clone Hero so I found this vid at the right time
This really helped my retro gaming nights... Thank you. I already used the popsicle trick and was going to do something similar to this. Your video showed me I was right and gave me confidence to pull the black wire... Thank you again.. 14 years later :)
Here with you also, from Providence, RI
Awesome.. Rock on.. Hope you get it all working. Have fun.

Thank you so much! My red drum pad is working again thanks to the help of your video, it was so helpful. All I had to do was buy the screwdriver it needed to open it that was only $11.00. It saved me a lot of money that i would have had to spend to get a new red drum pad.
This method still works flawlessly in 2022. You helped me resurrect my xbox360 GHWT drums which I thought were broken for good for more than 10 years. Opened them up, soldered the two cables of the RED drum like you showed in the video, and they work like new. Thank you for letting me dive into the GH nostalgia with my friends again!
haha me too :)
@@alski the wonderful power of internet :D
Yep, perfect. Thanks for making this video. Works better than ever now!
You are the ultimate MVP. You saved my set!!!
This worked for me. And now it's responding greatly i never had responsive issues again.
It did work, thanks. The hardest part was actually stripping the wire. I kept cutting the damn thing on accident.
Oh man, this works beautiful
Thanks for sharing
holy shit thank you! i was about to buy another set. just tried this and it worked perfectly!
Anyone still got bad registry from hitting any of the pads?
This vid made it slightly better but one thing that worked really well is get yourself some corrogated cardboard, cut it thin (So it just fits over the sensor) and about 10 cm long. Now fold it z-shaped about 4 or 5 times, put it onto the sensor and tape it so it is quite loose but still holds in place.
This worked amazingly well for me!!
hey thanks alot this worked great for me and it has been still working I have only done this on the red pad but I am greatful theres a person who knows what he is talking about.
Thank agian :)
worked lime a charm, cheers mate
THANK YOU, it works so well, this is the one time i will bow down to any man *bows*
Thanks alot it worked my blue was not working at all so I pulled out the wires and taped them and it works like brand new
THANK YOU, definitive solution, thank you very much!
thanks dude, worked perfectly. i sottered mine, works great.
Good Help Man. Good Luck to U as well.
How do you fix the yellow and orage?
You the man, thanks!
Awesome!
My black wire was already out when I opened my kit up. I taped it up and it still didn't register hits great at all. How do I cut it.
my red pad wires ripped up( they stopped working so i desided to check them) do i have to get a new wire or can i just tie them together and tape them?
How do you open up the drum set
Thanks for the fix, i soldered mine together and works a treat, but i pulled my front mat off as i didnt have the right 6 star screw driver, but now i can push the pad back in the little holes - do you have any tips?
That's what I did. My kit's been working great since then now. (:
The colors of the Audio cable is it like red and white? Or a positive or negative cable?
I tryed to fix it before but i lost the censor so i stuck a 2p coin to the pad instead and used blue tak as the glue stuff and it word just as well
Thanx man, cuz me and my friend tried saldering it (i think i spelled it right) and the salder kept falling off. Saves me money having to buy another one. =)
@jayjay1117 did u try pulling out both wires or just one. If you only did one then u might want to try the other one as well
Can this work for Warrior of Rock drums?
im sure it would....but i was a little worried sottering on the sensor...i dont think they are metal
one thing i dont understand is that are u supposed to cut the left over glue on the end of the black
I tried to do the same thing, the unresponsiveness got a little bit better but not fully resolved. Any suggestions? Or where can I find replacement wires? I have a brand new ghwt drums
@byakuganuser24 idk it might i tried it but i couldnt get the back panel off after taking out all the screws
Have you tried cutting JUST the outer part (rubber part) of the wire? Cuz you'll probably need the medal part to be touching the sensor. I'd use scissors but be sure your careful not to cut the inner part (medal part) of the wire. That's what I'd do at least. :)
Black tape of white tape Wii drumset ?
can u hot glue it on?
Under the glue is a soldering point. I just removed the glue and soldered the wire back on.
@wieben7 i pulled both out and put the colored one on the outer ring and put the black one in the inner circle
how much do sotter's cost?
thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuu :D
tanx alot dude
on mine, i can hit the orange or blue and it registers as red
you're a fckin genius. thank you!!!! i tried the popsicle stick thing too. didnt work at all. :)
i tried this, it didnt really work :( i hit the red and it doesnt really register, i hit the blue and for a split second a double hit comes up, i hit the green and it kinda works, but it registers the other main pads
@devil0448 im going to say yes.....the problem is all in how they glue them in.
does this work for foot pedals as well? i hve the wii version and the wires have been lost so i bought a new wire. however the new one has like a telephone jack on it and i'm wondering if i should remove that box on the wire and tape it like you did. also would electrical tape be better? thanks :3 happy drummings
I actually never had to take the foot pedal apart for any reason, so I couldn't tell you for sure. Wouldn't surprise if it worked the same way though. And yah electrical tape probably would work better. I made this when I was 16 and had no clue at all about proper materials haha.
+wieben7 ah ok. thanks for the fast reply. the pads are the same looking now that i took it apart. Final question if you can. Do i need one wire on the brass circular thing in the center and one on the outside of the brass circle?
+FeritFox yes, I believe the coloured wire goes on the outside and the black one goes on the middle. At least my kit 6 years ago worked liked that haha
good to know cause i have an orange and red chord, just found that chord that i lost O.o and a yellow and a black chord for the other one i bought for about 15 bucks. i'll probably figure it out. thanks again ^^
i had that problem too.....i think it will fix it because its a sensitivity problem.
1. ¿Cómo puedo pegar un piezoeléctrico nuevo, es decir , uso pegante o una cinta?
2. ¿Puedo usar una batería de Wii en un Xbox 360 cambiándole el control o mando ?
does this void your warranty?
this same thing happened to me recently!
thank u i fuckin love u man it really works!!!
i assume so...ive never done it but i know they use the glue as well so im sure it will work.
i did the same thing but now i need to fix my cymbal damn wire completely fell apart.
I did that first to but if the tapes to lose that its shity. so I just ripped all of them inclusive the cymbals and soldered them on again and isolated them to. My drums work now perfectly. I just have to change the jacks of the cables that the cymbals have and I may finaly get the score I desirve :D
@N4TD I dont know why not. It should be better then tape would be.
Nothing happens when I click the ps2 sync button, HEEELP
Edit 1: yes the batteries are in
Sync it with taking the pedal cable off and put it back on. Mine turns on and syncs while doing this
@N4TD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,,,, just tried it... i would stick to soldering it, or electrical tape personally
after hot glue-ing it wen i tested it in , it would activate red blue and green at the same time wen only hitting red
me too
@sonofwii that i can not tell you, i have one from my dad and a spool of sodder. i imagine not to much for the acutally sodder. but for the sotter iron a little pricey. ask friends if they have one. its not uncommnon to have one. :) good luck
I REALLY hope this works...
Thanks so much for the vid 5 star i phoned to get them repaired but they refused because my warenty was out jackasses why wont repair a drum set for hiting them god knows but seriously thank a lot mate :)
@pkha75 I just smashed mine.
I got it for 20 bucks anyways so, I was pretty much expecting it to shit out.
When I say, "just" i mean, about a year ago. xD
It works better with solder
does this work with cymbals?
nope... thats a whole different ball game
the cord came upluged on my set, like it tore from the sensor. i sottered it on and it works great now, so yea u can sotter on it, trust me i wouldnt be fucking you. i havent had any porblems since. so if u kno how to sotter and u dont SUCK you can do that. im like young and i did it with no problems xD
yah i have xbox live and i also have metallica......add me up if u want...gamertag: wieben
