Just got mine a couple of days ago. I absolutely love it. Your review is right on. It's a strap monster and the drilled lugs and quick-release BOR is so convenient. Couldn't be happier. Great video, pal. Keep it up.
@@rafmargaryan2569 mine keeps lately a consistent -5/6 a day. Sometimes even -1. So far so good and pleased with it. There's a guy on RUclips called Silly vintage watches who adjusted his to be consistently +1. Very pleased with the movement imo!
I bought the blue gilt Aquascaphe and love it. The bracelet and tropic strap are verrrry nice! I was looking for the Méraud Bonaire first but had no luck. I finally found the Méraud for sale and it is absolutely fantastic! The lume blazes for a long, long time! It also has an "oil can" body which is a very clean design.
Going into this week I was pretty confident that Borealis was getting the last of my 2020 money. Then...I found your channel. You’re killin me man! I was already a Lorier fanboy. While I appreciate the quality and production value of your reviews, I don’t need to be obsessing about these great watches..😂. On a more serious note, this is giving me the vintage seamaster vibe, and I love it!
Hey Levi, gotta tell you, your comment brings me a lot of thoughts and joy. Haha I don’t mean to contribute to your wallet making more withdrawals however there’s a lot of value in these pieces and there’s an excellent secondary market you can take advantage of when push comes to shove. Vintage seamaster vibe is spot on! Thanks for watching!
Great video. I have the aquascaphe and even with the more expensive watches i own i find that it gets a huge amount of wrist time. It really is a perefect GADA watch. How does the neptune compare?
See, now... I almost didn't want to watch this video as I JUST received my Lorier Neptune yesterday (and am absolutely in love with it) but this Baltic is absolutely stunning as well! Hmmm... since my Neptune is black gilt, I guess the only logical choice is to get the Baltic in that lovely blue gilt!
Great soliloquy about the Baltic. With this amd the Sinn 104 '5 things' vid, you've earned my subscription. I'm low-key stalking the blue dual-crown, super compressor style Aquascaphe. Have you had any hands-on with one?
Compared to many dive watches out there, this watch tops my list. Can’t stand the same old big dive watch. This could work anywhere with any outfit, at any time.
I keep coming back to this, I tried on a Seamaster 300, which this obviously looks very similar to, and it just hits the vintage feel perfectly, ultimately I went with the Diver300m which is a very different look. For the money this is looks a fantastic lower price alternative.
You may add : hacking movement, 20ATM, Miyota movement is tested and optimized to +/- 10 sec. by Baltic instead of the original -10/30 sec !! which is great, the new setup result data are delivered with the watch ! It’s a beautiful watch, mine is on the way 🤫
@@KnifeWatch was going to get a used aquascaphe for 680 CAD but the seller flaked an hour before the meet-up :( still hunting for one or I'll get a new neptune next time I'm in the states so i don't have to pay for duties into canada.
I love how they have hidden the modern milled clasp under the old school friction clasp cover. This feature is in fact the perfect example of what this watch strives to be. The sapphire bezel insert to mimic the Bakelite look.....Oh and to anyone who speaks disparagingly about the movement, the 9 series Miyota movement is there right along with the SW200 or 2824 except you get to keep the watch price down by a few hundred dollars and for what? A uni directional winding rotor with the occasional noise? Worth the trade off in my opinion.
I received mine a few days ago. They've added push bars to the clasp but they haven't made it any thicker. I love it. I wish watch companies would go back to making thinner clasps of stamped, quality steel, rather than these chunky milled ones that feel like you've a Buick parked below your wrist. Uncle Seiko gets it right. So does Hadley-Roma.
Baltic sure does put out some great pieces don't they? Great video! Wanted to ask do you have any experience with the steel bezel Aquascaphe? the SB01? Any info on that piece would really help, thanks in advance!
Probably the best looking vintage inspired watches out there but the noisy cheaper Miyota 9039 unidirectional winding rotor is a deal breaker for me for the price.
Very nice review, man! I think I'm leaning more towards the Aqua than the Neptune from Lorier. Speaking of the Aquascaphe, have you noticed their recent tease about a "dual crown"...are they talking about a compressor-style?
I would have rather had black but I really don’t like the rough textured dial so went for blue. If the black had a glossy dial then it would have been the top choice. Love the cream details. But in fact my perfect spec would have been what the glossy black bronze has but in stainless steel. No ink in the bezel markers, dial face numbers in cream… would have been perfect. I love the bronze look but don’t fancy a green wrist where the lugs touch the skin!
Love the video. I have the watch and I enjoy it. Just some feedback. Talk about what could be better. It's a great watch for the price but it's not perfect. Your video comes off very one sided.
Steven, really appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch my video. To find critiques, check out my Battle of the French Divers video where I dive into the negatives. However, one-sided or not, It’s my favorite watch under $1000-period.
@@scottlauren3145 I am not a big fan of the friction fit on the bracelet, the metal or finishing on the bracelet doesn't exactly match the case. It is almost like they are developed by two different factories. The lume doesn't last long and is not evenly applied. The sandwich dial is hardly noticable. I have even more minor issues but really all to be expected at this price point. I would recommend to anyone. by the way, it dress up very well. I put it on a black glossy leather strap and paired it with a suit. Looked better than most of my dress watches.
@@steveyrock1 Funny that you mention the metal finishing. I agree. Just doesn’t seem quite right to me. I’m going with the blue rubber strap and going to find a great leather strap to dress it up.
Man. If these were $200 cheaper I'd be in. But for the specs the price is a little high. Maybe I just need to see it in person to see the level of finishing. Too close price wise to a Christopher wolard which offers more value tbh
I must be in the minority; I have this watch and hate it - why? The case edges are so sharp you can cut glass with it, also the stupid ‘c’ at the end of Baltic really annoys me. The only benefit is I can put it on eBay and get my money back.
I would have pulled the trigger on this if it was a movement worth the price. The front end design is absolutely georgous but I cannot justify that cheap Japanese movement for 700 euro.
A homage to the Oris 65, but with inferior movement. So far, Baltic, has a knack of copying vintage aesthetics. Surely, Baltic is so great. They can maybe, come up with something more original perhaps.
Man I love this watch!!! Great video, love the darker background
Thank you for watching, my friend. Wanted to improve the contrast. Glad it worked!
This and the Squale Militaire are by far my 2 favorite divers, and the beads of rice is probably the nicest wearing bracelet I have.

Along my watch journey, this watch has always stayed in my collection. That alone speaks a lot about how good this watch is.
Great point. Baltic’s don’t leave collections that often for a reason
This was a fantastic and pleasing video where I got to see the watch over and over again.
I agree with everything you said about the watch. It’s the centerpiece of my collection and love everything about it.
A TEAL gilt would be absolutely amazing. Beautiful watch.
I am a picky collector and i am in love with this watch.
@@Silverman10 it’s a good one!
This and my Steinhart ocean one are absolutely the two grails of my collection BY WAY FAR. Stunning watch and very happy with it!!

I couldn’t have said it better myself, Steve. It’s a welcome departure from the watches we’ve been forced to accept at this price point.
What's the lume like. Is it iso rated?

I like it also it is a hommage to Blancpain Bathiscaphe ( non Fifty Fathoms !!) from 60’

What’s your view on this watch today, one year after your review?
Was very close to buying a Black Bay 58. But now I don’t see much of a reason to buy it. This Baltic is a Tudor killer.
