- Kawasaki does it again! After riding the Yamaha R6, this bike has me thinking... Is this a better value for what you get? This bike in my opinion is the best all around 600cc sport bike. It is great to run around on the streets and can be a blast on the track!

MY MISTAKE! ***THE QUICKSHIFTER IS QUICKSHIFT UP ONLY! NO AUTO BLIPPER!***
First time riders mostly keep the "select" button on left toggle pressed while they fiddle with menu and QS shuts off, you just need to press that button again for like 3 secs to get QS work again. You can verify it by seeing KQS icon going off or coming back besides TC.
Gotta make sure you see “KQS” in the dash for the quick shifter to be on. If not, hold the Select button for 2-3 Secs and it’ll come on.

I always love the ZX-6R. If Suzuki did not have the 750, or if Kawi made a 700-850cc bike, I would be all over it.
zx800r would be a bold move and sell plenty
Turn the quick shifter on, you have to press and hold the ok button until KQS pops up on the dash. It only works shifting up over 2500 rpm you don’t have to rev it either just hold the throttle open no clutch.

I think people are sort of just forgetting that quick shifters and auto blipped so aren’t the same thing. Luckily they’re becoming more standard and cases where you have one but not the other are less and less common but yea just use it like you would a normal bike, instead of keeping it pegged just treat the throttle like you would on a normal bike, but ignore the clutch

Second gear the only gear can be shifted down at a low speed with out clutch with quick shifter I own one as well don’t know if it good for the bike or not I have 2021 zx6r
@@ryanchuck5056 not good for the bike. It’s a quick shift up only. The bike is not ride by wire.
There's a way to install auto blipper on it which will have it downshift without the couch

Fantastic bike! Of course I'm slightly biased being that I own a 2021 model. Had a 2013 GSX-R750 and that was a fantastic bike as well, but Suzuki hasn't updated it since 2011. If they had, I might have gone with another Gixxer 750.
Still loving the bike? I got my eyes on this or the new 21’ Yamaha r7. I’m still undecided about which. I got a 300 ninja from a buddy but it just doesn’t have the power I’m looking for, I definitely jumped the gun. But I’ve ridden mx bikes my whole life
Got this bike as my first bike. I wanted the r6 but they stopped making it. This was my second choice. I've rode 1.5k miles so far this season and haven't died yet. Lit.
Nice! Yeah you can still get an R6 used but will have to pay an arm and a leg. ZX6R is definitely my next choice as well. Be safe out there!

Bro I'm in the market for a bike right now and you making this video just pretty much sealed the deal on my decision making. I was worried about the same things you were when it came to deciding between an R6 or an older ninja. I didn't want something that was too wide or too aggressive. The new ninja 600s really found The Sweet spot between a bike that feels like it just wants to go to the track and a bike meant for the streets. Also just like you I wasn't too sold on the front end of the new ninja either....... But what happened LOL it just grew on me.

I just bought the 2021 Eric. Only my fourth new bike already for the year. This will be my track bike. So far I love it. And it comes with only up quick shifter but still bad ass. You should be having to blip the throttle. I think this is the bike you need Brotha . I like this better than the R6. But both are awesome. So again I day the 636

Still easy to shift up without having to be doing 90. Just be on the throttle shift up then slow down but stay in that gear you chose.
Just bought my 2021 zx6r! Tough bike to ride compared to my Harley, but I love it!!

I had same problem when I learned how to use QS.....KEEP throttle steady and shift
This was a long time ago haha! I understand how a quickshifter works, but for some reason it wasn’t working the way it typically should. 😂
Quickshifter is good from the second gear up. Most of the time I change manually the first gear.
I use clutch from 1st to second and QS after......tbh I still use clutch alot if I don't need to QS....
Only thing I’d change about the ZX6R 19 is adding a downshift without the clutch and a cruise control. Then, the bike would be perfect. Still love it though!
You can keep it pegged and just shift without blipping, you prob dont have the quick shifter turned on. I have a 2019 qnd i dont have to let off the gas to use the quick shifter, u have to turn it on in the menu where you turn off traction control

The only thing that would make this better is if they’d used the new tft display like the 650.
Yeah I wish they’d make TFT’s for the 600’s. That would ultimately raise the price.
Nah. Analog tacs for 600s or go home. Not a fan of slapping phone screens on bikes in general.
Only the KRT edition has quick shift down. So yours.....up only.
Hi Eric i don’t think the ZX6R comes with auto blip i think its just quickshifter up from my understanding? That said i do love the 636 awesome bikes beaten in class only by undisputed 600cc king the Triumph Daytona 675R. Aesthetically i do think the previous gen 13-on is a better looking bike but obviously looks are subjective so just my opinion. Me id personally bag the 636 over the R6

Good question! I could just look it up, but the owner told me that it was a quickshifter with auto blip. Yes the 675R is a great bike! The 636 does have the power advantage but the R6 has it beat in looks and handling. Just my opinion. 😄

It's not trash. It just has to be turned on in settings.

Yeah the more your on the throttle the smoother the quick shift. It's a little rough out of first you gotta be moving almost pegged.

Nope the 636 is the best 600 especially the 19-21, faster than any other 600 I have the 19’ 636 no 600 has come close to getting me

Been looking at getting a 6r last bike was a zx7 I'm just over dealing with carburetors and the new 6 is basically the old 7.
i have a 07 zx6r and i love it, although i am getting a mt10 this year. i will say tho my first bike an 02 r6 felt like it was faster than my current bike.
Yea but a grom at the msf felt faster than my r3 and that r3 felt faster than just about everything since because I felt like I was flying at 30mph at the time

You are correct it’s only up shift. I saw that after the video dropped. I was basing it off what the owner was telling me. 😄
you need to turn on the quickshifter through a menu option. you were just clutchless shifting. i'm trying really hard not to throw insults your way here
as a fellow '20 ZX6R owner I thought the same thing.. pointing out a "flaw", that isn't really one, is a real pity! :(
Why throw insults? I asked in the video if you know how to activate it let me know. I had a short period of time with the bike and didn’t have to to try and figure all of that out.
Zx6r is the best bike in the class when you consider the price. Is the r6 really worth an extra 2k? Not really. Kinda just have to be a Yamaha fan to spend the extra cash. R6 is still sexy af though.
Yes the ZX6R is more bike for the money. The R6 is literally a scalpel for the track. You can get a used 4th gen R6 in great condition for a lot cheaper. (I have a 2017)

This may come off of as a “silly” question, but are bikes worth getting into? i’ve always had a thing for cars my entire life, but i’ve recently started to like bikes as well. my only concern is, i’ve never driven a manual let alone driven a motor cycle, and as well as the risk factor.

YES bike are totally worth getting into! The feeling of the wind in your face and the freedom you have compared to being in a car is the best feeling in the world. All bike are manual and it’s not that hard to learn how to ride them. Just a lot of practice in a parking lot. Yes there is risk due to your body being exposed, but that’s why we have gear to wear.

I want to start off on a 600 because if i buy a 350/400, i’ll definitely learn the basics, but i know i’d get bored and sell it within a year just to get another bike. I know that it’s extremely controversial. people say it’s okay, some people say it’s absolutely the dumbest thing you can ever do. but what is your stance on it?

How do people deal with those ram mounts man I hate them. I’d take rokform or quad lock or even some Bicycle mounts over the ram mount. It’s massive and has too many parts that can break and always wears out. Only benefit is that you don’t need a case but still there’s better alternatives. They clearly have some deal with cycle gear and revzilla to carry them and not the others

I think there is something wrong with the quick shifter. If you want to check out a video with a guy who uses a ZX6r on the track, check out fk racing. He dominates on the straight aways in his videos. The 636 has power plus on the straight aways. He's a really good dude. I met him last season when I was doing photography at Grand Bend Motorplex, here in Ontario. He's a racing machine. Lol!

A tuner can fix the Factory Quickshifter, the fueling restrictions mess with the QS

I have rode 750 cruisers for the last 2 years, I’m in the market for a sport bike now, would you recommend a 400 or a 600 for a new sport bike rider? Thanks great video
I always recommend 300-400 for beginner sport bikes. But if you’ve already been riding cruisers then a 600 might be okay, but they are still powerful. Also different characteristics than a cruiser.

@@rooftopshootaz8927 not sure what year model you are on about but i had the 2013 675R and i can definitely tell you it isn’t slower than any of the Japanese 600cc supersports ive had 3 CBR 600RR and two ZX6Rs a 2010 and 2011 and my Daytona 675R was definitely more powerful than all of them
A 600cc sport bike good for a beginner bike? ( been riding a 850cc cruiser bike for 7,8 months tho )
If you’ve already been riding a bike on the street you shouldn’t have a problem with a 600. Just know a 600 is no slouch and can still be a handful. Other than that you should be fine. I would practice riding it in in an open parking lot to get use to the different seating position, throttle response and brakes.

Im looking to start out on a 636, ive never ridden one or a motorcycle. I have rode dirt bikes before, but Ive heard they’re similar. What do you guys think? Should i start on something smaller or would this be a great starter bike for me?
Just depends on your maturity level and how long you actually rode dirt bikes. The 636 should be fine but I always recommend something like a 400.

Your 2020 6R downshifter works going down? So you have an auto blipper? The 2020 6R I bought a week ago only has a quick shifter going up.
Yeah so at the time of this recording I had the bike for for a short period of time and was told it had an auto blipper. That is not the case. Quickshift up only from the the factory.

My CBR300R fuel tank rusted coz I left it in the garage for too long. Ethanol in fuel reacts with air and form water or something. But I think all fuel tanks should be coated with some rust prevention coating internally by all manufacturers. Not buying a Honda ever again and considering this as my next bike.
You’re suppose to have a full tank when you store it for long period of time you muppet! Any gas tank in bike will rust if you have don’t fill it up all the way

How does this compare to the GSXR 600/750?
I like this better than the GSXR 600. More power, better looks and factory quickshifter. The 750 is going to have more power. All would be good for street riding and ergonomics.

Is this good for a beginner?
Depending on your previous motorcycle experience and maturity, it could be. It has power modes so you can tone it down a bit but will still be a fast bike. I always recommend starting on a 300/400cc.
