Beyond the Box: Ride - Along with Mr. Joseph

The Houston Food Bank transportation team is an integral part of our operations, and we were happy to highlight long-time driver Joseph D. to show a small portion of how HFB is able to deliver millions of nutritious meals each year. With a fleet of nearly 200 vehicles ranging from pick-up trucks to 53-foot trailers, our team covers deliveries throughout our 18 county service area so that nutritious meals can be distributed directly to the community.
Joseph's route primarily delivers to daycares and schools, where he is excitedly welcomed by both the children who will receive these meals, and their parents and staff.
Our Beyond the Box series works to highlight the programs and services that go beyond providing nutritious meals to those facing food insecurity within our community. In this first episode, we take a look at our Transportation team, and how their work serves both our mission and our community.
