My views per day is at 19! I haven’t seen that since I first opened my shopped. I had 40 views minimum per day. Etsy keeps messing with their sellers. Thank you for making this video. I live in the states by the way. ❤
I'm in the UK and saw a massive drop in my Etsy shop from 1 October '24. I too have over 8K sales and Xmas just hasn't started at all for me. I had a number of best sellers which are now just dead. My visits are 51% but orders only 6%. I think this will be much worse by the end of this month. I print items myself, make items myself, but it is just awful now.

I've been up 300% at some points throughout the year. Consistently 20-30 sales per week... Since October 1st I've been down 10-20% and sales seem like they are halting to a stop as of this week.. in the last 7 days I've only gotten 10 orders... This is unreal. I literally hate Etsy. I can't deal with the inconsistency. This is going to push a lot of people over the edge and Etsy is going to lose thousands of sellers to Shopify or literally ANYWHERE else. Between chaotic self-destructive situations like this and the insane amount of fees they are charging these days... I'm soon to be jumping ship.
The issue is they should of just made a recommendation to change shipping, not bullying sellers in doing so. I hope another platform comes out soon, so we do not have to be forced to use ETSY! At this rate you better off paying for your own website instead of making ETSY more money with all their fees.
The last two months have seen one big change for me - that the number of sales per visit has HALVED. It's been very noticeable - that this conversion rate has suddenly dropped. I might try to tidy the shop up a bit, but it's only a "side hustle" for me; an important one, as I have invested several thousand pounds in equipment, but my unrelated day job is what actually pays the bills thankfully.

I'm seeing the same situations since 2022, each time they do a change in the algorithm, there are a lot of shops shadow banned. No matter what changes you do on your shop, there's no solution for this. The Etsy gurus (i.e. Starla, and more) don't talk about this at all, despite there are hundreds of complaints on the etsy forums and other social media places.
I am looking for videos here who share sales losses. I noticed a drop first in July, then August was less, September even less, October is a complete disappointment, usually these months in my niche loud in the year, but not this one, my sales dropped 50% compared to previous years. Star Seller, free shipping, no comments on visibility, visits dropped, sales dropped. Feeling like the platform has become uninteresting to buyers

US Etsy seller here and I agree with everything you said. My sales are down over 35% since the new algorithm. I am a Star Seller. I offer free shipping. I add new products on a regular basis. I use keywords and optimized all of my photos per Etsy's suggestions. I've done every single thing they've asked and my sales keep dropping. People on the seller boards often suggest it's the economy or the now-completed election. It's not. It's Etsy. They just can't leave the site alone. They keep meddling and every time they meddle things get worse. I am hoping someone with vision starts up a genuinely handmade selling platform to compete with Etsy where in order to sell you have to have a virtual interview and prove your items are handmade and not purchased from China.
Yeah, I don't know what they did, but my sales just died. I don't even understand the free shipping push. They took a cut of the shipping price with the item price, so I don't think it would impact them. There are legitimate reasons not to offer free shipping, and it can actually be cheaper for the consumer.
My total sales have almost dropped 50% this Oct (2024) compared to last October. At first I thought it was because my shop was on holiday mode for the last 2 weeks of September. I only sell digital downloads, so the shipping issue isn't the problem for me. Looks like I'll be setting up my own store after Christmas.
I am in France and my sales have plummeted since October '24. I sell antique and handmade jewelry. I now have to seriously have a plan B as you say, as this cannot continue. I started with ETSY back in 2011. It is a lost cause now. I agree with every word out of your mouth. EVERY WORD. I made so much money when we started there and now its DEAD. Literally. And what bothers me is their ads telling the world how they support small shops. Could not be further from the truth these days.
45% down in traffic and sales. Fully optimised shop and 5 star seller. I will be lucky to have one favourited listing a day let alone a sale now. This year has been horrific since the start of gift mode back in march/april. Things slightly picked up from then but droppped down in June then slighly up until late September and its crikets. Lost all my bestseller badges, looks like no one can find me like they used to. I think i saw someone say there was 2 or 3 algorithm changes this year. Getting clobbered by all this and it hurts. Why do Etsy do this to only harm themselves in the process? They are not making any money off me and many others right now, ugh 😢

My sales have plummeted since September... it's been like crickets and I usually always get consistent sales. Between the inflation on goods, shipping being crazy expensive, and all the fees it's so hard to make a profit. So many people on Etsy aren't even hand made small business owners anymore. Of course right before Christmas.
We are an established Etsy Seller, and we agree totally with your comments. Time for another platform that just charges a flat monthly fee. In reality most sellers are being charged 40% of the sales value. Not to mention the compulsory 12% off site ads if your turnovers is above 10k. To be honest Ebay and Amazon are no better high fees and low volume sales.
What other selling sites do people recumend? i make my own products and am new to everything, my sales were just starting to go well but this month nothing!

I’ve had almost 5000 sales, Star Seller here etc. but this might really be the end for Etsy for me. I’ve put so much time and effort into this business. Not just a “hobby”. Always improving but this is just terrible. Can Etsy please just get your s*** together? Stop being so greedy.
This is why decentralized platforms are so desperately needed. It would mean true ownership for users and no risk of corporate interest changing the terms of service at their behest.
I have theories. It is possible that the economy is slowing down. Many US stores are closing like in the hundreds of thousands. Something happened to Etsy strategy. To me it looks like Etsy deliverately slowed down the sales, the reason is Etsy will tell store owners in order to go back to good sales and profits, Etsy will ask jump start fees. The investors are demanding more profits and faster, the only place they can get is from store owners.
Etsy does not care about its sellers and its lunacy to me. If they were more supportive of their sellers they would be making more money. They’re going about the business all wrong.

I am down 50%. I have been selling jewelry since 2009 on Etsy. I have over 40,000 sales. This is so hard. I support my family.

Sales were 50% above 2023 the whole year and now they are 25% below since start of October.
