Really love you guys' interaction and energy as well as the passion for Monster Hunter! You got my sub! It's pretty amazing how they managed to scale down World' aesthetic and fit it in within the Switch, and yet expanded on it even further by throwing verticality into the mix. Just imagine if they put underwater in as well, and we'll have both the height and the depth, which...while I would very much like that, would be too much for a smooth and stable gameplay... But man, the Shrine Ruins really look gorgeous with all the silver grass, the bamboo trees and the hauntingly beautiful ruins. Perfect place for ninjas and spooky monsters alike! I also could not believe that they would allow 8 players on the same field at once (4 players + 4 A.I.s), it's gonna be really bonkers! I suppose the monsters are gonna be hella tougher as well, considering you can bring in the whole gang to beat up just one monster, as well as having the wire bug to do all sorts of crazy moves to gain the advantage. I'm excited to see how strong the monsters can get, which at this point looks very promising as even the low-tier Jaggi style Great Izuchi seem to pose a decent threat with its coordinated attacks and Aknasom has a friggin' counter just like the hunter with its umbrella head shield. XD Speaking of new weapons, I totally thought the umbrella that was briefly show was a new weapon class, Sekiro style, but it's actually one of the Palamute's weapons. It's cool that the dog has more arsenals but I really wish the umbrella was a new weapon LOL. Anyway, I really want a new weapon, but I think we may not get one as they pretty much gave us a new partner, which is a HUGE change for the franchise as well as the Wire Bug that affect both movements and combat. Though I'm still hoping for a surprise announcement... Who knows, now that Monster Hunter Frontier is dead, they may just bring back the Tonfas or Magnet Spikes here (I would faint if they actually did that). As for the weapon selection, since Yasunori helms this project, I strongly believe that we will get back the awesome and quirky designs just like in the past games. World was heavily catered to the Western audience and I think the somewhat "realistic" bone and metal weapons reflect that decision. Rise on the other hand, in my opinion, was designed to bring back even more Japanese audience through portability and old school aesthetics, similar to Portable 3rd which is the best selling MH game in Japan to date (according to sales data). We're already off to a good start with the starting weapons, which I especially love the Dual Blades which looks like a sword and a sheathe with a blade attached on the edge, a scythe Gunlance and a cool-looking Switch Axe. We also got a glimpse of the Tetranadon Charge Blade that looks pretty nice and definitely not a scale-slapped-on-bone. So yeah, I think Rise has a really good chance to be the best Monster Hunter game yet because: - It takes most of the good elements from World that make the game more accessible - The game now has more fans that was introduced to the series by World (unless they're anti-Nintendo fanboys) - It attempts to draw more Japanese fans back with the Switch's portability and local multiplayer And Capcom can certainly achieve this by adding in great weapon selections and a lot, a lot, A LOT of monsters! (and cool collab DLCs, please!).
Yea really hoping for all those cool collabs like they did in GU like baki and stryder hyru stuff, since the game seems more Japanese style and just more stylish rather than unga bounga realism I think the weapon designs will be good again. Really hoping for frontier monsters/weapons tbh since they discontinued it and we never got to play I hope they wouldn't just scrap all those things
Who peeped the gold rathian on Joe's shoulder 🤣
Love seeing this kind of passion for MH, you guys are exactly like me. Complete MH addict :)

And yea I definitely think the difficulty will be up with there being so many on your team now or your gonna bully monsters worse than on world lol
