  • From Independence To 1949 The Untold Stories of Pakistan's Dirty Political History ‪@raftartv‬ Podcast with Naveid Siddiqui
Explore the early political history of Pakistan, focusing on the years immediately following its independence in 1947. We discuss critical events and decisions that have shaped the nation's political landscape, such as the dismissal of the NWFP assembly just days after independence, the shifting loyalties among parliament members, and the controversial removal of the Punjab Assembly in 1948. Additionally, we examine the role of the judiciary in undemocratic actions, the suppression of media freedom with the banning of major newspapers in 1949, and the influence of feudalism on politics.
Naveed Siddiqui, a veteran media executive, provides expert analysis and historical insights in this podcast. We also touch on the early involvement of the military and the establishment in politics, as well as Pakistan's initial steps in foreign relations during the Cold War. Unraveling the roots of Pakistan's political challenges and the lessons that history offers for the future.

Outstanding. This interview confirms William Faulkner’s famous quote from his speech: “Past is never dead. It’s not even past.” Shouldn’t Mr. Jinnah be aware of his dead past? Isn’t it obvious that an impoverished past allowed a misfit to represent naked nomads? He creates a nation but without a guiding idea. No one stood up and grab the half-dead skeleton by his throat. After a Holocaust of 1947 and a Genocide of 1971 and after the fact of a bankrupt Jihadi state, the dead are expected to revisit history. Who has the guts?

BAKWASIAT at its worst. Jinnah Saheb had a good roadmap but the conspirators and foreign agents high jacked the Jinnah’s mission. Sadly most of the commentators today get the information / narratives from anti Pakistan, anti division writers from India and England.
His vision regarding Pakistan as a country for Muslims with equal rights for every citizen, also sovereignty of Falistine and Malaysia in 1940. Please read the 1940 Lahore Declaration.
Please read some real books of history and not You Tube’s goofy writers.

If you study you will see how well he diplomatically went to bikaner, J&K royalties.
How good leader he was that he went to east pakistan and when he gave his first speech he confirmed that Urdu will be national language. To the people who proudly spoke Bengali.
So much so your leader got appreciation that when he was dying because of TB your Pam liakat ali was having a gala in US embassy in Pakistan. They did not care how to run the newly made state. Everyone was just wanted piece of power.

As I understand, this is the difference between India and Pakistan:
The majority Hindu population is non-violent, settles conflict through negotiations, prioritizes education, and is patriotic... Indian leaders come from this community.
The Pakistanis readily resort to violent means to settle disputes, no love for higher education, everyone busy in making a fast buck even at the cost of the nation... Pakistani leaders come from here.
So it's not the poor circumstances of Pakistan. It's the quality of people.
Or else how do you explain the rise of Japan as a powerhouse after suffering 2 nuclear bombs.

We must rise together and demand a transformative reformation of federal governance, empowering the voices of the people! If the powers that be refuse to heed this calling, let them stand exposed and publicly accountable for their inactions, for the future of our beloved nation hangs in the balance!

How conveniently the biased historian ignores major facts.
1- partition was totally messed up by the colonial masters - remember what Field Marshall Auchinleck said - why he never came back to the UK.
2- the leadership of the majority community did not do an iota to give minorities any comfort that they will be treated as equal and protected. Just see how Mandela treated the minorities and saved the country descending into violence.
3- no proper funding of the new country and proper structure.
The agents of colonial forces keep avoiding saying a word about the colonial masters like Mountbatten.
Yes there were agents of colonial masters who till today are working for those forces.
Keep spreading lies and keep talking nonsense.

Why are Pakistani so called experts so ignorant.
Sarhad government was led by a party that opposed Pakistan, it lost.
It opposed the referendum, it lost.
It was in alliance with the Congress party, the people rejected them.
If you want to discuss democratic values, then they should have resigned voluntarily, that's the right thing to do.
Morally no party can continue to rule, when the people keep rejecting your political positions. They did not have the moral authority to rule.
    They should have resigned themselves.

Please don't check whole of history, just check the number of people who had to do migration after the Second World War in Europe.
It's a far larger number, then in South Asia.
That's the problem, these people read 1 dimensional history, and they think that's the only thing that ever happened. Look around, and read around. You'll learn something.

@@SimranDhillon186 India was a region, you can't pick and choose your facts.
You haven't even read anything, and commenting like a child out of kindergarten.
Read again, how many Germans and east Europeans were uprooted.
Regarding India/South Asia, there are 3 different kind of migrations, for 3 different reasons.
      1. People of Punjab and Bengal migrated because these were the only areas partioned, not India. The boundary was announced on 17th August, and there was no plan, creating an disorganised and dangerous situation by design, mountbatton and Congress.
Nehru was shown the bound long before 15th.
      That's around 10 million.
      2. People who moved for ideological reasons, people who wanted to live in India, and those who wanted to live in Pakistan.
People from Sindh, balochistan and frontier, these were small populations, today Sindh province is still about 9% Hindu.
And Muslims from UP, Bihar, Hyderabad, bombay moved.
This second group was around 5 million in both directions.
      3.
Muslims who faced a genocide in Jammu, which had over 60% majority, was turned into a 30% minority. 250,000 were killed by Hindus and maharaja forces in a organised manner.
The refugees are hard to number, because no proper study has been done, but probably around 500,000 plus.
All of the above was not part of the negotiations, it only happened because the handover of power was ill planned by mountbatton, and the Congress. Part of the reason was to ensure Pakistan is unable to handle the situation and doesn't survive as a country.
In India everything was intact, they just swapped chairs, the British gave them a fully functioning organised machinery.
Pakistan was forced to build everything anew, they deliberately made the situation much worse.
      That's why.

First thing that went wrong in Pakistan, was when Jinnah became the Governor General, but ruled the country and conducted the cabinet meeting as if he was the leader. GG post is ceremonial. GG does not hold the post of the chief. that is the job of the prime minister. Liaquat was sidelined and GG was ruling the country. That does not sit well in a parliamentary system.

If Quaid e Azam had lived for a few years, the mullas would have charged him with blasphemy and the army would have charged him with treason. To move forward, one must have an open discussion and be willing to understand other point of views. Brother, I am a law student and QMAJ is my role model. Being honest with you, I actually stepped in, in this field because of him. The purpose of this is to tell you, there is nothing wrong if you criticise anyone’s ACT or disagree with his/her ideology. We (Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshis) are especially tilted towards emotions rather than facts and figure because we have been taught like that and schools collages also have failed to develop the level of intellect of students.
