- My dad and I went to the Orange Empire Railway Museum to find myself the famed ATSF FP45 numbered 108 already hooked onto a train, when we first got their it still had its shiny silver RS3L, but around 11 am volunteers running the train decided to do a last minute horn swap with an unknown K5LA. I did get to go inside the locomotives myself and blow the K5 but not actually run it, I’ll eventually buy some time to run one. But the experience was awesome with me also seeing SP 3100 and SP 1474!
I am unsure of the type of K5LA used in this video, if you do know feel free to drop a comment down below because I would love to know what type of K5 this is!
I took two trips to Chicago behind a ATSF loco like this. Both trips were a real pleasure. On time all the way too.
Sweet sounding K5LA. So cool! Brings back memories of a number of SDP40f's received K5LA's late in their career.
I may catch flack for this comment but I hope 108 keeps the K5LA. Have always enjoyed that loud, but melodic sound! !
Love the warbonnet scheme on the full width cowl body
Nice catch and K5LA!
Love that giant! The K5LA sounds awesome on her! I got a video of her with an M5 last spring
Have you posted your video? Would be very cool to see.
👍 hermosa locomotora
I hope they do sets like this again
the k5la is a mid 2000s round tag
Nice video
It's okay I guess, but it needs a big Leslie on it. I'd love to put my RS3L on it at some point!
yes this morning when i got there it had its rs3l but wasn’t being used
it sounds pretty weird for such an old famous engine being swapped with k5la instead of leslie horn
The sdp40f’s had this happen
Sounds like coaster 2303’s old horn
Saw this same video pn google maps
Nice
The only horn swap I’ll allow on the 108….
Maybe it's a Big bore or Narrow font K5LA
Oh cool I love 108 but why did they change the horn into a K5LA?
tbh, i have no idea they said it was just a last minute horn swap
@@wb_railphotography2019 the classic horn on it was good
It was probably swapped temporarily so the RS3L could get repaired. I’m just guessing though.
What horn is that called?
K5LA
