OOOH. Wow, what a nice locomotive. With that freight locomotive like front, but that full width cowl body. Amazing. Seriously, why aren’t locomotives like this produced anymore?
If I would have been a smarter 10 year old in 1972, I wudda had my Dad drive us from St Louis up to Northern MO and catch these and last F7s smoking thru before Amtrak bought SDP40fs. We went to chicago, but only to O'hare because I enjoyed planes more than trains back then. Sigh.....
Hey i was think the Southern California Railway Museum they sure do put have Santa Fe FP45 #108 Santa Fe FP45 #105 as diesel excursion passenger double headers with 33 ATSF excursion passenger cars on the ATSF/Southern California Railway Museum excursion passenger run from Perris to Barstow.
Magnificent engine! Many thanks to all the people who made that day possible!!
I love that old war bonnet paint scheme. I rode Santa Fe passenger trains during the early 1960’s.
As a young kid growing up, it was the FP45 and GG1 that were my first loves. It all started from there.
Serenity now!
Wow! She’s looking better then new! What a Fantastic Restoration

Outstanding!!
Most beautiful one I have ever seen. Did a great job on it.
Did one of my student trips on this unit back in 98.
108s a beauty.
I love it when the FP45 pulls passenger trains!
Love what appears to be a dual Mars light between the number boards. It's June 2024 and MTH is due to release the 108 in O gauge any day now.
both of those enginneers are actual engineers i work with both of them often.

Nice and shiny! No smoky exhaust anymore.
Very nice job, folks!
Just got 104 in HO scale today!!
Someone needs to send a Warbonnet Dash 9 over there to go along with the FP45.
be nice to see a dash9 repainted into a warbonnet.
Dash 8 would be nicer

They can't run trains to Barstow due to the fact they can't connect to the metrolink line

Ex ATSF 98
Does it still feature the original V20 645 series engine or has it been derated or replaced with a V16 version?
Is this the one that was #98?
Does anyone know the bell type? Thanks.
Wait a minute blippi got into this train in his video
Blippi drived this locomotive
putting a "trash"-9 anywhere near this member of Locomotive ROYALTY would be an insult & just plain distasteful..!! LOL....
