Preordered this this morning from Orbit . I’ll be keeping my Imprint box set , just as I have kept my old Anchor Bay Wooden Box DVD set . I love this movie . Can’t wait to see all 3 versions in 4K . And listen to new renditions of all the songs .
Good information on choice many fans are currently researching with the Studio Canal 50th release. What makes the question extra difficult is that we just don't know what other iterations may be in the pipe from SC or Lionsgate (or whoever). I don't import, but in this case of The Wicker Man 50th, with the "highly limited" notices on the collector's set, I was compelled to import it. The first pre-orders were sold out within a few hours, but I was able to get it from Orbit a couple days ago. Like yourself and every other owner of the Imprint set that I've heard from, I'll absolutely be keeping my Imprint set as well. There may be a few used copies of the Imprint set appearing now that this new version has been released, but the vast majority of folks who bought the Imprint set know what they have and will never part with it until all the extras associated with it are available else where....possibly years or never. I just hope Lionsgate or someone releases the 50th set in Region A...so those of us who were rattled into importing due to the "highly limited" notices won't possibly be stuck with region locked blu's. If anyone is still looking for the Imprint set, I'd suggest grabbing what becomes available on the secondhand market quickly, because it won't be long before the Imprint becomes even more rare and expensive. Good luck seekers!
Thanks for checking the video out. I’m sure lions gate will do one but the question is for those that want extras what are they doing. 4Ks are region free so unless you do not have 4K, you won’t have to worry about the region locked blus.
@@goreforever Yes, the 4k discs are region free (so we know we can play the film versions) but any blu rays (extras) will probably be region locked?...although there is conflicting information there as well. Have you heard anything about the blu's being region free?
Is anyone releasing this domestically at some point? It’s be nice to have Region A Blu-rays (and yes, I have the ability to play Region B, it’s just nice to have something you can pop into any player).
I’m sure someone will. Lionsgate did the Final Cut blu so assuming they still have the rights they’ll probably use the same scans studio canal has done. Have not heard anything yet though. This one was announced and we heard a Steelbook would come as well which was just announced being available for preorder the beginning of the week.
No. The Steelbook does not include: X1 exclusive EP featuring artists from Heavenly records covering songs from the soundtrack 64 page booklet, featuring brand new essays 3 'postcards from Summerisle' 2 posters (original theatrical artwork and new artwork) Bonus features are the same on both.
@@stuffandnonsense8528 have you seen the update photo of what the boxset is? Art is nice on the steel but box edition all the way for me. Orbit has the updated photo if you haven’t seen.
The posters and postcards sound good, but to be honest I’m not 100% sold on the Artwork. It’s good…but to me it’s not great. I forget who the illustrator is but I believe he’s done much better work in the past for the Wicker Man, with prints etc. So, there is an alternative 4K. It’s a 4 disc steel book which I think looks great. I’ll probably just go for that. If you Google “Zavvi wicker man 50th steel book” it’s really nice.

@@MetalGuruMessiah I have heard region B for the blus so very true the bonus features will more than likely be on the blu and region locked.
Keep em coming dude!
I need to watch the "NOT THE BEES!" version.
You do not lol
Don't worry VS will do the 4k.. it's really heavy on feminism, so you'll love it holland!
Girl power.
I am agonising over whether to upgrade to this new 4K release.
Missed the comment sorry. Honestly how much of a fan are you of the film? The film cuts will look the best they’ve ever looked.

@@goreforever Great, thanks for the info 👍
@@goreforeverbut the steelbook is MUCH prettier. I've been flipflopping back and forth between the two for a while.

@@goreforever I'm in the UK, zavvi has good photos from what I can tell, and the steelbook looks much nicer. But that EP might be what swings it.

Couldn’t care less about special features except vintage ones. Especially the satanic one, no thanks. This is a Christian movie.
