I have a rack sticking just like yours. Did you ever figure out the fix? I also suspect that someone messed with the injection pumps and didn't line up the pins with the rack when re-installing. How did you free up your rack?
This was a rebuild for the government however they did a poor job of it. I found a broken piston. The metal rack should be flat. It was bent so I hammered it straight. Someone bent it when putting in the injector. I have several videos on this project if you check out my channel. Runs perfect now.
@@johntyrone307 Sorry I guess I didn’t make a video of straightening the rack. Too busy trying to get this fixed. If your rack doesn’t move freely then someone bent it putting in the pump. Just remove and bend it straight.
@@JohnVH-diy ....thank you. I wasn't sure how the rail comes out, but I assume once you take off the pulley and cover, the rail should slide out. Did you have to remove the radiator and everything to make room. Not sure if it slides right out and how much space is need. Thanks for the help.
@@johntyrone307 Once you remove the pumps it should just slide out I think. It’s only about 6” long if I remember correctly. I eventually removed the engine since I found a bad piston too.
Good video. I have the same issue but it seems one of my rack springs is loose. Im going to open the housing and see.
If you watch my next video you’ll see I found a broken piston.
