The discrepancies you see in results is not necessarily because the Smart Scale fails or is inaccurate but rather it only measures the lower body. The BIA in this case goes from foot to foot, while Smart Watches measure the upper body and finally more advanced tools and labs may measure multiple points of your body.
Apparently Withings is very inaccurate for body composition, the other new players like Eufy P3 seem to do better in recent reviews and are close to DEXA, it's anecdotal though.
Honestly wanted to love this. Only works on occasion. Most of the time will just get an error message. Hopefully Withings will send an update soon. Seems like a software glitch for sure.
@@aboveaveragejoereviewsthat’s why it’s showing that much of a difference, i think if you turn off this mode it would be much more accurate, although it still measure only lower part of your body.
May I ask, lets say you pair the device(the scale) via bluetooth with your phone, will you need to have the app opened when you take your weight for the stats to show up on the app? or will it just automatically sync the stats to the app even if you don't have the app opened/bluetooth off/wifi off
I don't have my phone paired via bluetooth to the scale. I have the scale connected to my home's WIFI and then once a measurement is taken, it uploads it to my account in the app. It automatically sends the information after the measurement but I have noticed that not all the information shows up right away.
@@aboveaveragejoereviews hmm, in that case, does the wifi needs to be turned ON when stepping on the scale for it to show on the app? for example lets say if you have the wifi switched off. and you step on the scale. will the stats show up on the app? (lets say you have mobile data turned on) thanks for helping because im planning to get this scale myself :)
I have the Body+ scale for a few years. Upgraded my wifi router and the scale is now dead weight as it failed to connect to my wifi. Tried everything recommended on by Withings. Reset, delete/forget blutooth, nothing work. Now looking for another scale to replace the dead weight. Not sure if I should get another Withings scale or just go for another brand.
@@KingCoCo yes it will. Look at other reviews where the compare Withins to Dexer and don’t use it on athlete mode and it is very accurate. If I turn mine on to athlete I drop 5% body fat to a level I’d need to be eating no food for a month to achieve.

That's interesting I haven't experienced that yet.
It happens when you have your socks on
Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you have the Withings scale on athlete mode when you compared your fat mass to the DEXA reading?
Yes, in athlete mode. Weighed myself about 2 hours before DEXA scan.

The app does not send a code for starting the app!
Great video! I was thinking about getting this scale and this video was super helpful. 😃👍
Thank you! It's been great!

Isn't Glas an insulators?
dont get the body +, i got mine 2 years ago, and it hasnt worked for over a year inaccurate weighing and constant blinking arrow in lower right corner
Turn the athlete mode off. That will give you a more accurate fat %. 8% is bodybuilder show ready levels.
5% is HUGE!!!! I was considering buying this but nahhhhh
Will turning off athlete mode give a more accurate read?
