I find forehands and and anhyzers extremely difficult. So, I learned to throw with both hands. It seems to work. I throw the same distance with both hands, although my accuracy is slightly of with my off hand. It was not easy to learn. But I did it.
I feel like the reason FH hurts shoulders and elbow is because a) their form is bad or b) they should disc down. You could throw a comet or leopard and just underthrow it. A turnover doesn't replace a forehand shot. They end the same way but they're not the same shot.
My shoulder hurts from years of playing disc golf. Will schusterick hurt his from years of disc golf and throwing forehands. He's had to learn to putt left handed because of it. This might not replace a forehand one for one but it will allow me to play for many years to come. There have been countless pros injured from throwing forehand so I'd rather stick to throwing rollers and Anhyzers 🤘 Thanks for commenting, I get what you are saying but this is my reasoning to why I throw these shots.
Totally get it. I'm a huge baseball fan and the same thing is happening in baseball. I think as you try to push distance and velocity with a forehand you are more at risk of injuring yourself. The same has been true of pitching in baseball. A problem exacerbated in disc golf because there's so many guys out there throwing OS forehands. For many, starting with understables now, and learning a good turnover BH, will definitely help prevent a lot of injuries. Sorry if I sounded overly critical. The roller tutorial is something I'm going to take to the field with me.
@@worc2187 all respect on this channel 🤘 it's no worries. Glad you enjoyed the video. Rollers have been my low line forehand replacement for years lol otherwise I just take a 3 and my FH buddies get a 2 🤣
Definitely not a replacement but I used to play lefty 4 hand and hurt my left shoulder with over use of throwing and with work. So I switched to righty back hand and use the lefty 4hand for touchy shots now. I don’t have a righty 4 hand so turnover is a necessity to me
@BirdManAdventures I played left handed for a few months while my right arm was hurt. If I could get it 70 percent it would be a forehand replacement for me for sure. I've had pretty decent luck with the shots in this video though too.
Great video! First time viewer here. This makes me want to go out and practice rollers and my anny game a lot more. Appreciate the video and keep up the good content. God bless!
Thank you, I have a full series on here for beginners. I'm still working on getting distance and getting my form corrected for that but I do tutorials on my strongest shots. 🤘 Thanks for the feedback
Thank you 🤘 I appreciate it. Sunday Swagger is 🔥 they're my favorite disc golf polos. I have a link in my linktr.ee/ericjenkinsdiscgolf for a discount on them
Same here, I can throw 200ft left handed. There's a video on my channel of me throwing lefty 🤣 I'll learn that I feel like before I ever will a forehand
Wet grass definitely slows down the roller. And when the grass is longer. I’ve tried roller a few times on that hole and many others at freeman and whenever the grass is wet it doesn’t roll nearly as far.
On hole 8 I actually try to throw the roller farther so it lands on the uphill part. This eliminates the extra effort used to get it down the hill just to go back up. Just need the right angle and disc selection to climb the rest of the hill. Given no trees are hit
Never do anything that hurts your elbow. I'm no doctor but from personal experience being more loose in the shot will help with stuff like that as well. You definitely need to go slow with any new form or awkward form
Did this video help you out? Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments 🤘
Glad to see someone else that has an Element in the bag.
They're the best 🔥 have you tried the NXT ones yet?

I can throw pretty far with my off hand but I definitely trust my Anhyzer more lol. That is a great and much safer option tho 🤘
Impressive instructional skills bro - nice job
Thank you 🤘 hopefully this will help some people with Anhyzers. My distance still needs work before I'm comfortable making that video 🤣
Love this guy
Thank you 🙌 I love the disc golf community 🤘

Thank you so much for the kind words, I appreciate it. We're filming some goofy content today for this Sundays video 🤣
Awesome video man I new to dise golf and I like the way you explain how to do the right way to throw

I use my Latitude 64 River / Maul for these types of shots. I have no forehand to speak of but I am practicing throwing left handed backhand shots

After my latest round this weekend I was thinking “I need to work on some anhyzer shots” so the timing on this couldn’t be more perfect
🤘 That's awesome, hopefully you get some value out of it. Field work will help too with any form changes, I always go to the field and throw

I felt like I was ripping these and they just went nowhere 🤣 thought it could have been the fatigue lol

@@tylafontaine I need to try my forehand roller again here. My backhand roller has gotten me a couple of birdies tho
The Rollo is a good disc for rollers. It’s so flippy that it wants to turn any throw into a roller.
I bet lol my cyborg is kind of like that. I have to be careful how much hight I give it.
When I throw these it hurts the heck out of my elbow. I think Im forgetting to follow through.

Best wishes. I had an elbow injury last season from hypertension of my elbow. Not bending it enough in the throw
That was a toad, not a frog! That’s just plain disrespectful 🤓
😂 Toad wouldn't have flowed in the song tho haha
