    I remember playing a version of that Popeye game, but wow, I’m honestly a little blown away at Draconian, that looked fantastic

    Brilliant video as always, Greg. There is something extra special about AA home brews. It's basically Albert making Atari's consoles as important as they should have continued to have been in the 80s.

    Still waiting on my orders. I also went for Popeye and Draconian, and a bunch more. For the 7800 ones, now that I've got a 7800GD I'm not sure how much I'm going to want to give up its RGB out to play a 'real' cart. 🤣

      The RGB video feature is a mixed option for me, cuz I really prefer to play retro games on my CRT cuz it looks great, but also no input lag. So playing through an upscaler kinda sucks IMO.

    • @Reaperman4711
      @Reaperman4711 10 дней назад

      @@KrunchyTheClown78 If you don't go for an RGB CRT soon, it'll just get harder to do that later. The PVM/BVM market is already insane, but soon arcade CRTs are going to start climbing too.

    I think it would be nicer to see 'period appropriate' enhancement CPUs, which is really the difference between the NES/SNES mappers and these. It's also understanable though, as ARMs are cheap, easily available, and 500x faster than anything you had back then; the majority of period chips are no longer in production.
    The Popeye purple background is as you see in one of the arcade revisions too, not sure why, but it's one of the supported sets in MAME

    • @GregsGameRoom
      @GregsGameRoom  24 дня назад

      Yeah, I bet sourcing those period appropriate chips would be hard. Better to use what is current and cheap today.

    • @nsdeg1970
      @nsdeg1970 23 дня назад

      Popeye only uses a HOKEY (Pokey replacement chip). Right, Down, Right, Up, Up, Down, from the title screen, turns off the pink background. Rev F becomes "Novice".

    Awesome games! I was worried when a year after I placed my "last chance" order, I still hadn't received anything. But out of nowhere the box came. I already had "Draconian" because Bosconian is one of my favorite games. They nailed it and I'm still super happy with it. This time I bought Mappy, Super Cobra, Zookeeper, Baby Pacman, Pacman collection and some others. All amazing. PS None of the CHAMP games work in the 2600+. I too am hoping a future firmware update can fix this. Though we haven't seen anything since January? So I'm starting to assume not.

    The Zoo Keeper thing is a NET, use the net to capture the animals back to the cage.
    In the arcade version the platform stages would occasionally offer up a free game....if you could get to it in time.

    Trowel? Arrgh! It's a net! Geez! You can't catch animals with a trowel!
    Anyway. (Ahem.) I think I have a digital copy of the 2600 version of Gorf. Holy crap, it's so close to the arcade version it's nuts. I should probably follow it up with another Champ release, Wizard of Wor, which is likewise a kajillion times better than the CBS Games version.

This is relatable i bought 2 atgames sega genesis , the 2018 as a SD card reader but suck at reading cartridges , and the cheaper 1 works great with carts but emu sd cards don't work .
